Too late?
« on: March 30, 2003, 03:34:00 PM »
Hello All,

Since becoming a Seventh Day Adventist and firmly believing in eating a healthy diet, I have this question......
I will be turning 50 in July and I am concern that I polluted my body with my previous diet for many years. My cholesterol is high ( 250 range ) and I am on medication.
For the last few months I have been changing my diet the Adventist way. I feel good about it but I am just concerned whether it is too late and is the damage already irreversible.
Your thoughts and comments will be greatly appreciated.

Your Brother in Christ,

Ben

Bless you Br. Ben:

At 50 years old, it is not too late to make changes in your diet for the better and see positive results. Our bodies are very forgiving and respond favorably to the changes we make. Indeed, the Lord, too is forgiving and He will guide and direct you in this endeavor. Be of good courage and continue in the direction you are going.

Christian love,
~Suzanne~

Good question, Brother Ben. Let me share what I have found in dealing with patients both old and young. Young people are more flexible and less settled in their habits, but older folks can have greater wisdom. Why do I answer your question from this perspective? Because the battle is to make the lifestyle changes. It makes no difference what the age, if we will come into harmony with the laws of our being.

Not only will you see tremendous changes in your health, but you will understand that God is working with you. This is a great blessing. There is a peace in knowing that you are in God's hands and working with Him.

We will keep you in our prayers, Brother Ben. May God continue to grant you wisdom and power to follow Him.
