Amen, Brother Beacon, Sister Dorine, Brother Jim, and Brother Philip!

Truth will triumph. God's love is revealed in His justice as well as in His mercy. While it is not easy to take the truth that there is coming an end to all the rebellious, God loves everyone and calls all to repentance. We choose whether we accept the gift and become transformed in character by either cooperating with the Holy Spirit or hardening our hearts against His appeals. Thankfully, the fruits of the Spirit without one missing come into the life as a genuine testimony of the blessedness of making an entire surrender to Christ. God prophesied through Isaiah so aptly: "There is no peace, saith the Lord, unto the wicked" (Isaiah 48:22). Let's experience God's peace in our hearts by choosing a course of loving obedience!

"God 'delighteth in mercy.' 'As I live, saith the Lord God, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked.' Micah 7:18; Ezekiel 33:11. To Him the work of destruction and the denunciation of judgment is a 'strange work.' Isaiah 28:21. But it is in mercy and love that He lifts the veil from the future, and reveals to men the results of a course of sin." {The Desire of Ages, page 582, paragraph 3}

Like the cursed fig tree, those who have had great opportunities for knowing and following truth but who do not practice it will experience condemnation and destruction. God's heart breaks at the thought of losing them, but His love will not force the will or compel the conscience. Let us do all we can to cooperate with God in seeking to woo and win souls to Jesus, increasing His joy who paid such a high price for each of us at Calvary by His expiatory sufferings for the sins of all humanity. Truly, "God is love" (1 John 4:16).
"When we live by faith on the Son of God, the fruits of the Spirit will be seen in our lives; not one will be missing." {The Desire of Ages, 676.4}

Amen dear friends! Israel is an example for those whom the end of the world is come.

God “delighteth in mercy.” “As I live, saith the Lord God, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked.” Micah 7:18; Ezekiel 33:11. To Him the work of destruction and the denunciation of judgment is a “strange work.” Isaiah 28:21. But it is in mercy and love that He lifts the veil from the future, and reveals to men the results of a course of sin.....
In every age there is given to men their day of light and privilege, a probationary time in which they may become reconciled to God. But there is a limit to this grace. Mercy may plead for years and be slighted and rejected; but there comes a time when mercy makes her last plea. The heart becomes so hardened that it ceases to respond to the Spirit of God. Then the sweet, winning voice entreats the sinner no longer, and reproofs and warnings cease.  DA 582, 87.
Jesus receives His reward when we reflect His character, the fruits of the Spirit......We deny Jesus His reward when we do not.

"Ahab regarded Elijah as his enemy because the prophet was faithful to rebuke the king’s secret iniquities. So today the servant of Christ, the reprover of sin, meets with scorn and rebuffs."

"Bible truth, the religion of Christ, struggles against a strong current of moral impurity. Prejudice is even stronger in the hearts of men now than in Christ’s day."

"Christ did not fulfill men’s expectations; His life was a rebuke to their sins, and they rejected Him. So now the truth of God’s word does not harmonize with men’s practices and their natural inclination, and thousands reject its light."

"Men prompted by Satan cast doubt upon God’s word, and choose to exercise their independent judgment. They choose darkness rather than light, but they do it at the peril of their souls."

"Those who caviled at the words of Christ, found ever-increased cause for cavil, until they turned from the Truth and the Life. So it is now." "

God does not propose to remove every objection which the carnal heart may bring against His truth. To those who refuse the precious rays of light which would illuminate the darkness, the mysteries of God’s word remain such forever. From them the truth is hidden.

"I also am thankful for His justice for it shows His love just as much as His mercy. It may seem that God is overlooking the sins of His people because they do not suffer the consequences right away but His mercy is giving them more time to come to Him before justice is measured out."

"Oh may we daily walk with Jesus accepting and believing and living the truth we have been given. We may have questions that have no answers here but that should never cast a shadow over the precious truths that have been revealed."

"WE" have a long suffering saviour but the time of probation is fast nearing it's closing bell. Are "WE" willing to commit 100 percent to Jesus now before the closing bell rings??

======================

One day all knees will bow;
Jesus, we confess You now—
We proclaim You Lord today.
Though there’s darkness all around,
With Your sons the light abounds,
And we’ll praise You, praise You on our way.
2
Usurped and under Satan’s sway,
God’s will opposed in every way—
This age pulls like a mighty tide, a mighty tide.
O Lord, our every thought renew,
Our eyes keep drawing unto You,
Our feet plant firmly on Your side, Lord, on Your side.
3
O King of glory, come, we pray!
Transform us more, Lord, day by day
That life on earth would not be vain, would not be vain.
Oh, make us those who meet Your need,
Provide a beachhead that will speed
Your coming back to rule and reign, to rule and reign!

The Jewish nation was a symbol of the people of all ages who scorn the pleadings of Infinite Love. The tears of Christ when He wept over Jerusalem were for the sins of all time. In the judgments pronounced upon Israel, those who reject the reproofs and warnings of God’s Holy Spirit, may read their own condemnation. { DA 587.3}

The mystery of iniquity. How do you explain it? You can't for then you make room to excuse it. To choose this world and all it's troubles above the joy and perfection of heaven, shows the depravity of the human heart. Part of the problem may be that those who do profess God's love are not showing it. May our actions match our words so that souls will be drawn to the lovely Jesus and long for a better place, called heaven and live a life right now of love and joy experiencing all the fruits of the Spirit.
But this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press  toward the mark. Phil. 3:13,14

Amen my brother and sister.  Why does God present all that we read today?  A chapter about guilt, about destruction. A story about the end of mercy.

God “delighteth in mercy.” “As I live, saith the Lord God, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked.” Micah 7:18; Ezekiel 33:11. To Him the work of destruction and the denunciation of judgment is a “strange work.” Isaiah 28:21. This is such a sad statement. Notice that it's not the Saviour that gives up on us but that we reject His Spirit for so long that our hearts become hardened to His voice and we ignore it. Let's never forget, it's who and what we are beholding that determines who we are. Christ will not force us against our will. He may bring about circumstances to wake us up to our great need of Him but He will not force our decisions. That is one power we do have; the exercise of our will in the choices we make.
"He hath shewed thee O man what is good:and what doth the Lord require of thee but to do justly, and to love mercy and to walk humbly with thy God." Micah 6:8

I realize that stern warnings and admonitions must be given sometimes to wake people up. The good Lord has done that to me in the past and its for our own good but and I've probably said this before this one of the chapters in the DA that I find hard to read.

The Roman officers were silenced and subdued. Their hearts, though strangers to divine influence, were moved as they had never been moved before. In the calm, solemn face of Jesus they read love, benevolence, and quiet dignity. They were stirred by a sympathy they could not understand. Instead of arresting Jesus, they were more inclined to pay Him homage. Turning upon the priests and rulers, they charged them with creating the disturbance.

I find it interesting that while the church leaders wanted to stone Christ the pagan Roman soldiers were still able to be influenced by the Holy Spirit. What a difference, the leaders of the church wanted to stone Christ yet unbelievers and pagans no less were inclined to pay Him homage. Sometimes the most receptive ones come with exteriors that would seem to indicate a hard shell.  Praise the Lord He is able to look into heart and is not dissuaded by rough exteriors.
By communion with God in nature, the mind is uplifted, and the heart finds rest.  {DA 291.1}

Amen Brother Jim. You see good in this chapter which is a warning to the church today and individuals in it. Brother Beacon and Sister Dorine have shared the same truth that has a specific warning to the last of the seven churches. God is ready to spew many out of His mouth, probations are nearing the end for many in the church.

The warning is for all time. Christ’s act in cursing the tree which His own power had created stands as a warning to all churches and to all Christians. No one can live the law of God without ministering to others. But there are many who do not live out Christ’s merciful, unselfish life. Some who think themselves excellent Christians do not understand what constitutes service for God. They plan and study to please themselves. They act only in reference to self. Time is of value to them only as they can gather for themselves. In all the affairs of life this is their object. Not for others but for themselves do they minister. God created them to live in a world where unselfish service must be performed. He designed them to help their fellow men in every possible way. But self is so large that they cannot see anything else. They are not in touch with humanity. Those who thus live for self are like the fig tree, which made every pretension but was fruitless. They observe the forms of worship, but without repentance or faith. In profession they honor the law of God, but obedience is lacking. They say, but do not. In the sentence pronounced on the fig tree Christ demonstrates how hateful in His eyes is this vain pretense. He declares that the open sinner is less guilty than is he who professes to serve God, but who bears no fruit to His glory. { DA 584.1}

Yes, this warning is for all Christians, but most pointedly to the last church of Laodicea.

 3:14   And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God;
 3:15   I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot.
 3:16   So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.
 3:17   Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:

The Seventh-day Adventist Church remains in a Laodicean condition. Not all are in this state, but many are. They believe they have life when they do not. They are blind to their condition. This is why there is rebellion at the highest level The curse causeless does not come.

 So it is now. God does not propose to remove every objection which the carnal heart may bring against His truth. To those who refuse the precious rays of light which would illuminate the darkness, the mysteries of God’s word remain such forever. From them the truth is hidden. They walk blindly, and know not the ruin before them.

Christ overlooked the world and all ages from the height of Olivet; and His words are applicable to every soul who slights the pleadings of divine mercy. Scorner of His love, He addresses you today. It is “thou, even thou,” who shouldest know the things that belong to thy peace. Christ is shedding bitter tears for you, who have no tears to shed for yourself. Already that fatal hardness of heart which destroyed the Pharisees is manifest in you. And every evidence of the grace of God, every ray of divine light, is either melting and subduing the soul, or confirming it in hopeless impenitence. { DA 588.1}
Jesus receives His reward when we reflect His character, the fruits of the Spirit......We deny Jesus His reward when we do not.

Men prompted by Satan cast doubt upon God’s word, and choose to exercise their independent judgment. They choose darkness rather than light, but they do it at the peril of their souls. Those who caviled at the words of Christ, found ever-increased cause for cavil, until they turned from the Truth and the Life. So it is now. May this not be said about any one of us. What more could God do to show that His mercy and His justice both show His great love for fallen man?

Amen dear Sister Dorine. I choose the same text. It is a fearful message we have been given in today's reading.

The prophets of God were hated by apostate Israel because through them their hidden sins were brought to light. Ahab regarded Elijah as his enemy because the prophet was faithful to rebuke the king’s secret iniquities. So today the servant of Christ, the reprover of sin, meets with scorn and rebuffs. Bible truth, the religion of Christ, struggles against a strong current of moral impurity. Prejudice is even stronger in the hearts of men now than in Christ’s day. Christ did not fulfill men’s expectations; His life was a rebuke to their sins, and they rejected Him. So now the truth of God’s word does not harmonize with men’s practices and their natural inclination, and thousands reject its light. Men prompted by Satan cast doubt upon God’s word, and choose to exercise their independent judgment. They choose darkness rather than light, but they do it at the peril of their souls. The Jewish nation was a symbol of the people of all ages who scorn the pleadings of Infinite Love. The tears of Christ when He wept over Jerusalem were for the sins of all time. In the judgments pronounced upon Israel, those who reject the reproofs and warnings of God’s Holy Spirit, may read their own condemnation. { DA 587.3}

In this generation there are many who are treading on the same ground as were the unbelieving Jews. They have witnessed the manifestation of the power of God; the Holy Spirit has spoken to their hearts; but they cling to their unbelief and resistance. God sends them warnings and reproof, but they are not willing to confess their errors, and they reject His message and His messenger. The very means He uses for their recovery becomes to them a stone of stumbling. { DA 587.4}

We are warned in clear words that those that reject reproofs and warnings are reading their own condemnation. That is a frightful thought and so many are doing just that. What about you? what about me? do we love truth even when it steps on our toes. May we never be found guilty of unbelief and self-righteousness.

Amen dear sister!  A doomed people is a warning to all who do not love the truth. We see today two groups being formed both in the church and in the world. Those who love the truth and those who do not.

God “delighteth in mercy.” “As I live, saith the Lord God, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked.” Micah 7:18; Ezekiel 33:11. To Him the work of destruction and the denunciation of judgment is a “strange work.” Isaiah 28:21. But it is in mercy and love that He lifts the veil from the future, and reveals to men the results of a course of sin. { DA 582.3}

And so it is today. The curse Israel brought upon themselves has followed them and will to the very end. When the King of the North goes into Jerusalem, Islam, Judaism, Catholicism, and Apostate Protestantism will understand how very wrong was their religion. They all perverted the teachings in the Bible.
Jesus receives His reward when we reflect His character, the fruits of the Spirit......We deny Jesus His reward when we do not.
