Amen, Brother Beacon!
What a joy it is to put God first in everything and to impart what He gives us on a daily basis in the way He leads us! As we learn of Christ we can have greater and greater joy in imparting! The key is to put EVERYTHING we have into the hands of Christ, for it is in His hands that things will multiply to bless others and we will be more than abundantly satisfied! God showed this in the life and experience of Elijah!
"And the word of the Lord came unto him, saying, Arise, get thee to Zarephath, which belongeth to Zidon, and dwell there: behold, I have commanded a widow woman there to sustain thee. So he arose and went to Zarephath. And when he came to the gate of the city, behold, the widow woman was there gathering of sticks: and he called to her, and said, Fetch me, I pray thee, a little water in a vessel, that I may drink. And as she was going to fetch it, he called to her, and said, Bring me, I pray thee, a morsel of bread in thine hand. And she said, As the Lord thy God liveth, I have not a cake, but an handful of meal in a barrel, and a little oil in a cruse: and, behold, I am gathering two sticks, that I may go in and dress it for me and my son, that we may eat it, and die. And Elijah said unto her, Fear not; go and do as thou hast said: but make me thereof a little cake first, and bring it unto me, and after make for thee and for thy son. For thus saith the Lord God of Israel, The barrel of meal shall not waste, neither shall the cruse of oil fail, until the day that the Lord sendeth rain upon the earth. And she went and did according to the saying of Elijah: and she, and he, and her house, did eat many days. And the barrel of meal wasted not, neither did the cruse of oil fail, according to the word of the Lord, which he spake by Elijah" (1 Kings 17:8-16)
A new testament parallel is when Jesus was surrounded by the five thousand (plus many more women and children) and they were hungry after hearing Him share the living word all day, and God multiplied the little that was available in Jesus' hands!
"In full reliance upon God, Jesus took the small store of loaves; and although there was but a small portion for His own family of disciples, He did not invite them to eat, but began to distribute to them, bidding them serve the people. The food multiplied in His hands; and the hands of the disciples, reaching out to Christ Himself the Bread of Life, were never empty. The little store was sufficient for all. After the wants of the people had been supplied, the fragments were gathered up, and Christ and His disciples ate together of the precious, Heaven-supplied food." {The Desire of Ages, page 369, paragraph 4}
As we begin this day in full surrender to Christ by the miracle of His converting grace, let us allow Him to guide us with wisdom and patience according to our strength and capacity how to impart what God has given to us so freely! Each experience of the life of a converted Christian may deepen the union and communion with Christ so even sweeter revelations of His love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, meekness, goodness, faith and temperance may be manifest in the life and character by the Holy Spirit!
