Hackers are running rampant. We have received numerous calls about my business credit card that I only use to buy books. The claim was that we owed $19,000 on the card and are late for our $435 payment. They even had info that my wife purchased plane tickets a few months ago with the card. That was about the only exception for the card other than buying books to sell. I am only amazed that they did not access the card and run up the total. They had my name, phone number, credit card business name, mailing adress, and a recent purchase. Perhaps they still did not have the card number and was either wanting to get that from me or else was hoping I would send them $435 ?
We canceled the card and are considering doing the same with our others. We do not pay interest but use the cards for convenience sake. I understand that do to insurance on the cards one can escape the problem if someone steals your indentity but I am not comfortable depending on that.
