Activists Trying to Shut Down Climate Debate, Skeptics Say [Excerpts]
Climate change skeptics - and journalists who report on them - have become the target of a campaign aimed at stifling legitimate debate at a time when Congress is planning an aggressive new environmental push.
This is the assessment of environmental scientists and free market advocates who see a concerted effort to silence and de-fund think tanks that publish material challenging "prevailing global warming orthodoxy."
Bonner Cohen, author of "The Green Wave: Environmentalism and Its Consequences" said in an interview with Cybercast News Service that the censorship campaign hinges on two key components - a call for congressional oversight leading effectively to "show trials" aimed at discrediting global warming skeptics and an assault on press freedom.
At issue is a report issued by the Union of Concerned Scientists (UCS) earlier this month accusing ExxonMobil funded "contrarian scientists" and "ideological advocacy groups" of a "disinformation campaign" aimed at deceiving and "confusing" the public about the connection between human activity and climate change.
It also criticized media organizations for quoting scientists who criticize the UCS views as being out of step with mainstream opinion.
The UCS report took aim at "climate contrarians" affiliated with the Independent Institute such as Fred Singer, David Legates and Frederick Seitz, accusing them of bucking the scientific consensus.
Singer, an environmental scientist at the University of Virginia, told Cybercast News Service that proponents of global warming models that see a significant correlation between human activity and rising temperatures are "afraid they might lose the debate" because their data is unlikely to withstand scrutiny.
"The facts and the data are pretty convincing now," he said. "Any warming taking place is largely due to natural variability, not human activity. The way we can tell is by comparing the pattern of warming with what greenhouse warming models predict. They don't agree."
Cohen also took issue with the UCS's invoking of "consensus."
"Science does not run by consensus," he said, adding that the organization was simply trying to "shut off debate." "Tell me where I'm wrong on the issues," said Ben Lieberman of the Heritage Foundation, another organization named in the UCS report.
"What's really going on here is the skeptical arguments have merit and they are resonating with American people," Lieberman said. As a result, "there's a frustration on the part of alarmists who have not been able to scare the American people."

Well, well. Some “climate expert” on “The Weather Channel” wants to take away AMS certification from those of us who believe the recent “global warming” is a natural process. So much for “tolerance”, huh?
I have been in operational meteorology since 1978, and I know dozens and dozens of broadcast meteorologists all over the country. Our big job: look at a large volume of raw data and come up with a public weather forecast for the next seven days. I do not know of a single TV meteorologist who buys into the man-made global warming hype. I know there must be a few out there, but I can’t find them. Here are the basic facts you need to know:
*Billions of dollars of grant money is flowing into the pockets of those on the man-made global warming bandwagon. No man-made global warming, the money dries up. This is big money, make no mistake about it. Always follow the money trail and it tells a story. Even the lady at “The Weather Channel” probably gets paid good money for a prime time show on climate change. No man-made global warming, no show, and no salary. Nothing wrong with making money at all, but when money becomes the motivation for a scientific conclusion, then we have a problem. For many, global warming is a big cash grab.
*The climate of this planet has been changing since God put the planet here. It will always change, and the warming in the last 10 years is not much different than the warming we saw in the 1930s and other decades.

If it were not for the hatred of God by most of these liberals, one might consider what they have to say. But, since they mostly are highly immoral, and the earth will soon return to a nice warm climate, I cannot get excited about the call by the liberal world to join with them in dousing the fires by which many in the world still keep warm.
And, the great white leader of these strange sayings is a hypocrite who uses a thousand times more carbon dioxide producing engines than I would ever think of. When he sells his house, cars, lawn mower, and swears to not use any internal combustion engine ever again, then we can talk about the need for me to stop using my wood-stove to keep from freezing in the winter. This is the same group who don't want us to build any more electric generating plants or gasoline refineries, or drill for oil.
How do they think the world is going to eat? We are living in the last days when most will not want to return to the new earth where there will be no winter. They might as well enjoy the few years that are left on this old earth and use their oil before it soon will be burned up with the rest of the carbon in this earth.

Meteorologist Likens Fear of Global Warming to 'Religious Belief' [Excerpts]
An MIT meteorologist dismissed alarmist fears about human induced global warming as nothing more than 'religious beliefs.'
"Do you believe in global warming? That is a religious question. So is the second part: Are you a skeptic or a believer?" said Massachusetts Institute of Technology professor Richard Lindzen, in a speech to about 100 people at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C.
"Essentially if whatever you are told is alleged to be supported by 'all scientists,' you don't have to understand [the issue] anymore. You simply go back to treating it as a matter of religious belief," Lindzen said. His speech was titled, "Climate Alarmism: The Misuse of 'Science'" and was sponsored by the free market George C. Marshall Institute. Lindzen is a professor at MIT's Department of Earth, Atmospheric, and Planetary Sciences.
Once a person becomes a believer of global warming, "you never have to defend this belief except to claim that you are supported by all scientists -- except for a handful of corrupted heretics," Lindzen added.
According to Lindzen, climate "alarmists" have been trying to push the idea that there is scientific consensus on dire climate change.
"With respect to science, the assumption behind the [alarmist] consensus is science is the source of authority and that authority increases with the number of scientists [who agree.] But science is not primarily a source of authority. It is a particularly effective approach of inquiry and analysis. Skepticism is essential to science -- consensus is foreign," Lindzen said.
Alarmist predictions of more hurricanes, the catastrophic rise in sea levels, the melting of the global poles and even the plunge into another ice age are not scientifically supported, Lindzen said.
"It leads to a situation where advocates want us to be afraid, when there is no basis for alarm. In response to the fear, they want us to do what they want," Lindzen said.
Recent reports of a melting polar ice cap were dismissed by Lindzen as an example of the media taking advantage of the public's "scientific illiteracy."
"The thing you have to remember about the Arctic is that it is an extremely variable part of the world," Lindzen said. "Although there is melting going [on] now, there has been a lot of melting that went on in the [19]30s and then there was freezing. So by isolating a section ...they are essentially taking people's ignorance of the past," he added.
The only consensus that Lindzen said exists on the issue of climate change is the impact of the Kyoto Protocol, the international treaty to limit greenhouse gases, which the U.S. does not support.
Kyoto itself will have no discernible effect on global warming regardless of what one believes about climate change," Lindzen said.
"Claims to the contrary generally assume Kyoto is only the beginning of an ever more restrictive regime. However this is hardly ever mentioned," he added.
The Kyoto Protocol aims to reduce the emission of greenhouse gases to 1990 levels by the year 2010. But Lindzen claims global warming proponents ultimately want to see a 60 to 80 percent reduction in greenhouse gasses from the 1990 levels. Such reductions would be economically disastrous, he said.
"If you are hearing Kyoto will cost billions and trillions," then a further reduction will ultimately result in "a shutdown" of the economy, Lindzen said.

[What drives the "Man Caused Global Warming" movement? Is it overwhelming evidence from science? As many have noted, the movement itself presents a number of features that clearly distinguish it from scientific inquiry. Consider the remarks of Democratic Senator Barbara Boxer during an appearance on Larry King Live.]
"There's really a climate of hope, not fear, because we are listening to the scientists, and yes, there are always a few who are the naysayers just like there were people who said the earth is flat, but eventually there's a consensus. We know there's a consensus that has built, and I'm not going to debate anymore whether this is happening. I know it's happening" (Senator Barbara Boxer, Larry King Live, 1/31/07).
The process of of Consensus building is defined as "a decision-making process that not only seeks the agreement of most participants, but also to resolve or mitigate the objections of the minority to achieve the most agreeable decision" (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Consensus_decsion-making).
Simply put, consensus building is not "science," but simply the imposition of the majority opinion upon a minority regardless of the validity of scientific data presented. Although a compliant media has run a few articles protesting the "suppression" of the science "proving" global warming (with experts quoted being primarily radical believers in the same), the pressure and marginalizing of dissenters is growing.
Please note, there is no room for truth or empirical evidence in consensus building as manifested today. It is nothing more or less than a "religious belief." This is demonstrated by another guest on the same Larry King Live program. Dr. Heidi Cullen has suggested that any TV meteorologist certified by the American Meteorological Society who did not believe in manmade global warming theory be decertified (http://epw.senate.gov/public/index.cfm FuseAction=PressRoom.Blogs&ContentRecord_id32abc0b0-802a-23ad-440a-88824bb8e528). [Is this not the same attitude we are told will be exhibited towards those who obey God and keep the Sabbath in the last days? Belive as they belive and command or you will lose your job!]
That is hardly indicative of a something supported by overwhelming scientific evidence. How does Senator Boxer know it is happening? Why, she believes it is happening!

Al Gore 'doesn't know what he's talking about,' storm forecaster says [EXCERPTS]
A top hurricane forecaster called Al Gore a gross alarmist? Friday for making an Oscar-winning documentary about global warming.
"He's one of these guys that preaches the end of the world type of things. I think he's doing a great disservice and he doesn't know what he's talking about," Dr. William Gray said in an interview with The Associated Press at the National Hurricane Conference in New Orleans...
Rather than global warming, Gray believes a recent uptick in strong hurricanes is part of a multi-decade trend of alternating busy and slow periods related to ocean circulation patterns. Contrary to mainstream thinking, Gray believes ocean temperatures are going to drop in the next five to 10 years.

National Geographic: Melting Mars Means Man Made Global Warming a Myth [Excerpts]
An absolutely startling report about climate change was published Wednesday in National Geographic which stated ³the current global warming on Earth is being caused by changes in the sun² and not by man.
Unfortunately, as this goes counter to the position of an alarmist media and their seeming field general, Dr. Global Warming aka Al Gore, it seems quite unlikely that these revelations will be covered in today's papers or evening newscasts.
Regardless, the earth-shattering piece began:
Simultaneous warming on Earth and Mars suggests that our planet's recent climate changes have a natural -- and not a human induced to one scientist's controversial theory.
The article marvelously continued:
Earth is currently experiencing rapid warming, which the vast majority of climate scientists says is due to humans pumping huge amounts of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere. (Get an overview: "Global Warming Fast Facts".)
Mars, too, appears to be enjoying more mild and balmy temperatures.
In 2005 data from NASA's Mars Global Surveyor and Odyssey missions revealed that the carbon dioxide "ice caps" near Mars's south pole had been diminishing for three summers in a row.
Habibullo Abdussamatov, head of the St. Petersburg's Pulkovo Astronomical Observatory in Russia, says the Mars data is evidence that the current global warming on Earth is being caused by changes in the sun.
"The long-term increase in solar irradiance is heating both Earth and Mars," he said.
[By covering the religious aspects of the global warming movement, we have been accused of dabbling in politics. To the contrary, more and more evidence is emerging to demonstrate that the idea of man-caused climate change is believed with great fervor by many of its exponents and has become their religion.

I would like to express my appreciation for this thread. I am becoming increasingly dependent on this e-list for well-rounded, factual information on the signs of the times. The media has been largely one-sided in its reports, although I was fortunately aware of a different voice on the part of a local professor. The significant strands of the various sides of this issue are represented here succinctly for the layman, such as myself, to be able to grasp in a few minutes reading. Heartfelt thanks to Brothers Cop and Richard.

The 'Old' Consensus? [Excerpts]
Did NASA scientist James Hansen, the global warming alarmist in chief, once believe we were headed for . . . an ice age? An old Washington Post story indicates he did.
On July 9, 1971, the Post published a story headlined "U.S. Scientist Sees New Ice Age Coming." It told of a prediction by NASA and Columbia University scientist S.I. Rasool. The culprit: man's use of fossil fuels.
The Post reported that Rasool, writing in Science, argued that in "the next 50 years" fine dust that humans discharge into the atmosphere by burning fossil fuel will screen out so much of the sun's rays that the Earth's average temperature could fall by six degrees.
Sustained emissions over five to 10 years, Rasool claimed, "could be sufficient to trigger an ice age."
Aiding Rasool's research, the Post reported, was a "computer program developed by Dr. James Hansen," who was, according to his resume, a Columbia University research associate at the time.
So what about those greenhouse gases that man pumps into the skies? Weren't they worried about them causing a greenhouse effect that would heat the planet, as Hansen, Al Gore and a host of others so fervently believe today?
"They found no need to worry about the carbon dioxide fuel-burning puts in the atmosphere," the Post said in the story, which was spotted last week by Washington resident John Lockwood, who was doing research at the Library of Congress and alerted the Washington Times to his finding.
Hansen has some explaining to do. The public deserves to know how he was converted from an apparent believer in a coming ice age who had no worries about greenhouse gas emissions to a global warming fear monger.
This is a man, as Lockwood noted in his message to the Times' John McCaslin, who has called those skeptical of his global warming theory "court jesters." We wonder: What choice words did he have for those who were skeptical of the ice age theory in 1971?
People can change their positions based on new information or by taking a closer or more open-minded look at what is already known. There's nothing wrong with a reversal or modification of views as long as it is arrived at honestly.
But what about political hypocrisy? It's clear that Hansen is as much a political animal as he is a scientist. Did he switch from one approaching cataclysm to another because he thought it would be easier to sell to the public? Was it a career advancement move or an honest change of heart on science, based on empirical evidence?
If Hansen wants to change positions again, the time is now. With NASA having recently revised historical temperature data that Hansen himself compiled, the door has been opened for him to embrace the ice age projections of the early 1970s.
Could be he's feeling a little chill in the air again.

Since it is going to cost more for gasoline, natural gas, and other energy related items that we depend upon today, I have become concerned. These God haters wish to take away my wood stove also. So, I have no other solution except to pray for warmer weather! It is very cold without any way to heat my home. Of course many who want to take away our heaters don't have a problem with heating their huge homes and flying in their private jets. Hypocrites! You are already causing pain and suffering for those who are not wealthy by birth, Mr. Gore.

And not just one big home and a private jet. Seems Mr. Gore has several homes, and a sports car or two. Me son, who lives in Nashville, was telling me about it. Seems the local paper there has done some checking on their native son.
Has anyone noticed how environmentalism is creeping into the church papers?

A judge in England has ruled against the "documentary" made by Gore. Here are things that he said are not accurate.
The first mistake made by Mr Gore, said Mr Justice Burton in his written judgment, was in talking about the potential devastation wrought by a rise in sea levels caused by the melting of ice caps.
The claim that sea levels could rise by 20ft “in the near future” was dismissed as “distinctly alarmist”. Such a rise would take place “only after, and over, millennia”.
Mr Justice Burton added: “The ar-mageddon scenario he predicts, inso-far as it suggests that sea level rises of seven metres might occur in the immediate future, is not in line with the scientific consensus.”
A claim that atolls in the Pacific had already been evacuated was supported by “no evidence”, while to suggest that two graphs showing carbon dioxide levels and temperatures over the last 650,000 years were an “exact fit” overstated the case.
Mr Gore’s suggestion that the Gulf Stream, that warms up the Atlantic ocean, would shut down was contradicted by the International Panel on Climate Change’s assessment that it was “very unlikely” to happen.
The drying of Lake Chad, the loss of Mount Kilimanjaro’s snows and Hurricane Katrina were all blamed by Mr Gore on climate change but the judge said the scientific community had been unable to find evidence to prove there was a direct link.
The drying of Lake Chad, the judge said, was “far more likely to result from other factors, such as population increase and overgrazing, and regional climate variability”. The melting of snow on Mt Kilimanjaro was “mainly attributable to human-induced climate change”.
The judge also said there was no proof to support a claim that polar bears were drowning while searching for icy habitats melted by global warming. The only drowned polar bears the court was aware of were four that died following a storm.
Similarly, the judge took issue with the former Vice-President of the United States for attributing coral bleaching to climate change. Separating the direct impacts of climate change and other factors was difficult, the judgment concluded.
Despite finding nine significant errors the judge said many of the claims made by the film were fully backed up by the weight of science. He identified “four main scientific hypotheses, each of which is very well supported by research published in respected, peer-reviewed journals and accords with the latest conclusions of the IPCC”.
In particular, he agreed with the main thrust of Mr Gore’s arguments: “That climate change is mainly attributable to man-made emissions of carbon dioxide, methane and nitrous oxide (‘greenhouse gases’).”
The other three main points accepted by the judge were that global temperatures are rising and are likely to continue to rise, that climate change will cause serious damage if left unchecked, and that it is entirely possible for governments and individuals to reduce its impacts.

Gore gets a cold shoulder [Exerpts]
ONE of the world's foremost meteorologists has called the theory that helped Al Gore share the Nobel Peace Prize "ridiculous" and the product of "people who don't understand how the atmosphere works".
Dr William Gray, a pioneer in the science of seasonal hurricane forecasts, told a packed lecture hall at the University of North Carolina that humans were not responsible for the warming of the earth.
"We're brainwashing our children," said Dr Gray, 78, a long-time professor at Colorado State University. "They're going to the Gore movie [An Inconvenient Truth] and being fed all this. It's ridiculous."
Dr Gray, whose annual forecasts of the number of tropical storms and hurricanes are widely publicised, said a natural cycle of ocean water temperatures - related to the amount of salt in ocean water - was responsible for the global warming that he acknowledges has taken place.
However, he said, that same cycle meant a period of cooling would begin soon and last for several years.
"We'll look back on all of this in 10 or 15 years and realise how foolish it was," Dr Gray said.
He said his beliefs had made him an outsider in popular science.
"It bothers me that my fellow scientists are not speaking out against something they know is wrong," he said. "But they also know that they'd never get any grants if they spoke out. I don't care about grants."

I've been considering this issue on and off for awhile now. I believe we should do our best to be caretakers of the planet - that was the original job given to Adam and Eve; however, with sin, the decay of the earth is unstoppable. We should still do whatever is in our power to lessen our impact. As a friend of mine said recently, we cannot pollute the earth and think it has no effect.
On the other hand, we must also keep in mind that God values people above animals, plants and all other parts of creation.
That said, I believe that Global Warming is one of Satan's attempts to counteract the warnings God is giving through the elements. Even if portions are true because the earth is under the curse, it gives the world an out. If they can find a "scientific" reason for the flooding, the earthquakes, etc., then they can blame that and ignore the clear prophecies of Scripture that these things would come to pass with increased frequency, intensity and in varied locations as the coming of Jesus gets closer.

You know, I've mostly thought of Global Warming as more of a political point. At least, that's how some of the discussions have come across to me. But now that you mention it, there is definitely a spiritual side to it as well! Just another reminder that Satan is at work everywhere!

You make a good point. Many of these environmental concerns are side issues, strategically crafted by the devil to keep the world preoccupied so they will not be ready for the crisis that is almost upon us. We are definitely called to be good stewards of the earth, but, as you said, humans are more important than "snail darters," or other obscure endangered "species." I would not be surprised to see extreme environmental restrictions contribute to economic hardships, which could play a part in the general chaos of the last days. If the radical leftists in the Democratic Party get their way after the next election (assuming Democratic control of both houses of Congress + the presidency) we could see some very radical legislation. Of course, if that happens it could lead to a backlash from the right in the next election. Who knows? We live in interesting times

That said, I believe that Global Warming is one of Satan's attempts to counteract the warnings God is giving through the elements. Even if portions are true because the earth is under the curse, it gives the world an out. If they can find a "scientific" reason for the flooding, the earthquakes, etc., then they can blame that and ignore the clear prophecies of Scripture that these things would come to pass with increased frequency, intensity and in varied locations as the coming of Jesus gets closer.
Amen! I see that clearly being the case. It is not God or Satan causing this, but wicked men who want to keep their families warm and get to work. It will also cause class warfare. We were told this would happen and now I can see why the poor will be very upset. Gore and friends take away my wood stove to heat my home in a cold winter and He and his wealthy friends continue to fly in their Gulfstreams and drive their gas guzzlers and heat their 10,000 sq foot homes. Class struggle? Yes. And I will join in their protest. Take away my wood stove and I am all for taking away their Gulfstreams (private jets).
Yes as the rich get richer and the middle class disappears, you can bet their is going to be class warfare. Satan delights in this and he is setting the stage for the trouble that is just at the door.

What the scientist says is consistent with what Buckminster Fuller wrote in his book "Critical Path" Published in 1981. The concept of "critical path" is from systems theory, I think. The idea as I understand it is that for a complicated project to succeed, such as things like "putting a man on the moon before the decade is out," to quote JFK, is that certain aspects of the project are on a timed schedule and if that aspect of the project is not completed by the target date the whole project will fail. He said that the earth was vulnerable and that reducing pollution was on a critical path that must be effected within a certain time frame or it will be too late. He said that the technology already existed at that time to reduce emissions, and reduce pollution, but it requires the will to do it and the willingness to pay for it. He was an encyclopedia of technological and scientific information and owned thousands of patents that were significant improvements over what is in use. If I recall correctly, after he died Stanford University was given custody of his papers and patents etc.

For some the price of gas will keep them out of the country, but for the wealthy, they will be headed that way in greater numbers. The cities are quite dangerous and getting more so. Filthy and dangerous. Global warming is Satan's effort to hold his captives and to keep God's children from nature.

Global warming activist and former veep Al Gore likened the battle over climate change to humanity's greatest struggles -- like the fights against slavery, apartheid and nuclear proliferation -- during a speech Thursday in Australia, according to a newly reported transcript.
In a July 13 speech to the EcoCity World Summit in Melbourne, the former vice president argued combating global warming was “in the tradition of all the great moral causes that have improved the circumstances of humanity throughout our history,” according to the website Climate Depot.
“The abolition of slavery, woman’s suffrage and women’s rights, the civil rights movement and the anti-apartheid movement in South Africa, the movement to stop the toxic phase of nuclear arms race and more recently the gay rights movement,” Gore said.

“It was wrong to allow slavery to continue, it was wrong to deny women the right to vote, it was wrong to discriminate on the basis of skin color or who you fell in love with,” he continued.
In a 2013 interview with The Washington Post, Gore likened climate change “deniers” to alcoholic fathers who fly off the handle when the issue is mentioned. “The conversation on global warming has been stalled because a shrinking group of denialists fly into a rage when it’s mentioned. It’s like a family with an alcoholic father who flies into a rage every time a subject is mentioned and so everybody avoids the elephant in the room to keep the peace,” he explained.

"All the great moral causes." Morality is the domain of religion. I did not know he was interested in religion. Upon what platform did he run for president? A moral platform as did Obama and Clinton? Maybe he is more moral than both of them, since he lost and they won. Is he at odds with Clinton and Obama when it comes to morals?

During the Bush administration, I remember that he, Bill Clinton, and Jimmy Carter were in the process of organizing a new Baptist denomination and called for a meeting to take place of all interested Baptists. It was to be strong on social justice issues, environmental 'save the planet' issues, calling for shorter jail sentences, legalizing many illegal drugs, and very pro abortion rights.
I never heard anything further in the news about it.

Al Gore resides in a 10,070-square-foot Colonial-style home in the posh Belle Meade section of Nashville, the eighth-wealthiest neighborhood in America according to the U.S. Census Bureau.7 The home, which was built in 1915, contains 20 rooms – including five bedrooms, eight full bathrooms and two half-baths. Gore purchased the property, including the home and the surrounding 2.09 acre lot, in 2002 for $2.3 million.
In 2010, Gore announced that he and wife Tipper were divorcing after 40 years of marriage.9 According to media speculation, Tipper likely lives in the $8.9 million California home the couple purchased weeks before the separation. The Gores have four grown children who no longer live at home. That leaves the former vice president as presumably the only occupant of the home, making his energy consumption even more staggering.

Environmentalist Al Gore, a.k.a. the climate con man, has a new movie to promote, so he gets to fly on private jets and ride around in gas-guzzling limousines. Maybe he’ll even add a new wing on to his mansion with the profits.
The new movie is called An Inconvenient Sequel, a follow-up to An Inconvenient Truth, which was chock full of doom and gloom about made-made climate change and global warming. The film premiered at the Sundance Film Festival last month and will go into wide distribution this summer.
As Natural News previously reported, none of the dire climate change predictions from the first film — which won an Academy Award for best documentary — have come to pass. Among other things, the Arctic never melted, and polar bears are still thriving. Mt. Kilimanjaro is still covered with plenty of show. Extreme weather also has failed to materialized.
In the new opus, the former vice president under Bill Clinton tries to justify another weather whopper — that cities all over the world, including Manhattan, are at risk for flooding because of the rise in the sea level combined with storm surges. It was the “single most criticized scene in that movie,” Gore declares in the trailer below.
“In that clip, Gore then shows ‘Superstorm Sandy’ footage of water flooding lower Manhattan, including the memorial site and a quote from Gov. Andrew Cuomo blaming climate change, to prove true Gore’s claim from 11 years ago. But his original prediction was not about extenuating circumstances of a storm like Sandy slamming into New York or any ‘storm surge’ at all. It was about the sea level rise that would be generated as (he predicted) ice melt in Greenland and Antarctica escalated dramatically. The latest maps show that Greenland still has ice 11 years after Gore’s prediction of catastrophic melt due to global warming.”
Even the liberal Washington Post admitted back in November 2012 that “Climate change does not cause storms and did not cause Superstorm Sandy.”
Weather Channel founder John Coleman was fundamentally unimpressed with the original Al Gore movie, which he deemed a “scientific monstrosity,” and has raised concerns about the follow up for similar reasons. Coleman has argued in the past that man-made climate change is a scam, , a myth, and unsupported by science.
Health Ranger Mike Adams recently pointed out the oft-repeated claim that 97% of scientists agree that man-made climate change is settled science — as if science is ever settled — is a bunch of hot air.

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D., Calif.) castigated President Trump on Friday for withdrawing the U.S. from the Paris climate agreement, saying it dishonored God while questioning how he could do such a thing to his grandchildren.

'Climate Change Denial Should Be A Crime' [Excerpts]
Plenty of media outlets have blamed Hurricane Harvey on climate change, but one journalist used it as an excuse to claim people who don’t agree with him on climate should be punished.
“The science is too clear about what will happen in the near-term to continue to allow profiteers and ideologues to place the public in danger without consequence,” Motherboard editor Brian Merchant wrote Sept. 1. Motherboard is Vice Media’s science and technology outlet.
“Climate change denial should be a crime,” he concluded.
Hurricane Harvey “is what climate change looks like,” Merchant declared. But that claim doesn’t fit with history.
WeatherBell meteorologist Joe Bastardi called out Merchant’s story on twitter, asking “How do you explain so many storms stronger than Harvey, most from over 50 years ago?”
Merchant’s extreme belief that climate “deniers” ought to be punished is not unique. A Grist writer called for “war crimes trials” and a “climate Nuremberg” for climate change skeptics in 2006. He later apologized.
Rhode Island Democrat Senator Sheldon Whitehouse argued in 2015 the government should use the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO) to attack the fossil-fuel industry for its climate change “denial operation.”

Calls To Imprison "Climate Change Deniers" Grow In The Wake Of Hurricane Irma [Excerpts]
When retired Georgia Tech professor Judith Curry penned a blog post on her "Climate Etc." website suggesting that it was scientifically irresponsible to tie the intensity of Hurricanes Harvey and Irma directly to climate change, she probably didn't expect that she might trigger 1,000's of progressives to call for her immediate imprisonment. Unfortunately, for both Curry and society at large, that is exactly what happened.
As the Washington Times notes, Curry's comments only served to further enrage Al Gore's climate change crusaders who promptly ramped up their calls to imprison anyone with the audacity to present any data and/or question, in any way, climate models which should be accepted as proven fact...even though they're subjective and highly sensitive any number of input variables.
That is the kind of talk that could get policymakers who heed her research hauled before the justice system, if some of those in the climate change movement have their way.
“Climate change denial should be a crime,” declared the Sept. 1 headline in the Outline. Mark Hertsgaard argued in a Sept. 7 article in the Nation, titled “Climate Denialism Is Literally Killing Us,” that “murder is murder” and “we should punish it as such.”
The suggestion that those who run afoul of the climate change consensus, in particular government officials, should face charges comes with temperatures flaring over the link between hurricanes and greenhouse gas emissions.
“In the wake of Harvey, it’s time to treat science denial as gross negligence — and hold those who do the denying accountable,” said the subhead in the Outline article, written by Brian Merchant.
Brad Johnson, executive director of Climate Hawks Vote, posted last week on Twitter a set of “climate disaster response rules,” the third of which was to “put officials who reject science in jail.”

California Cities Sue Oil Companies over Climate Change [Excerpts]
City attorneys in San Francisco and Oakland, California, sued five oil companies in two coordinated lawsuits on Tuesday, arguing that the courts should hold these companies responsible for climate change, and force them to financially compensate the cities for harm the plaintiffs claim those companies are causing to the planet’s environment.
The two cities are suing five of the top petroleum companies from around the world: BP, Chevron, ConocoPhillips, Exxon Mobile, and Royal Dutch Shell. These local municipalities are suing them under California law for being a public nuisance.
The lawsuits use virtually identical language, like accusing the oil companies with language such as, “For decades, Defendants have known that their fossil fuels pose risks of ‘severe’ and ‘catastrophic’ impacts on the global climate through the works and warnings of their own scientists or through their trade association.”
By bringing these claims in the county courts in San Francisco and Alameda, the cities’ attorneys are setting them on a legal course where the justices of the California Supreme Court—a reliably liberal court—would ultimately decide the financial liability of the oil companies.
[To my knowledge, global warming/climate change advocates have never found any evidence that this is caused by humanity. Even all meteorologists that I have heard deny that there is warming or climate change due to human activity and that it is natural and caused by the sun.]

AP Omitted Expert Quotes That Didn’t Fit the Narrative About Global Warming [Excerpts]
An Associated Press reporter sent some questions to Dr. Roger Pielke Jr. about what role global warming played in this year’s slew of billion-dollar natural disasters. Pielke, an expert on natural disaster costs, apparently didn’t give AP reporter Seth Borenstein the answers he was looking for, because his ensuing article didn’t have any quotes from the University of Colorado professor.
Pielke’s answers largely reflected the work he’s been doing for years — that there’s no evidence global warming is making weather more extreme. Any increase in natural disaster costs is caused by an increase in wealth and population, according to Pielke’s research.
Borenstein, however, did quote Penn State climate scientist Michael Mann, who claimed global warming was “impacting extreme weather in ways we hadn’t anticipated.”
Mann is an ardent advocate for liberal policies to address global warming, and has even suggested the fossil fuel industry has launched a campaign to marginalize his work. Mann recently gave an academic freedom lecture at the University of Michigan, where he attacked his critics as “climate deniers” shilling for energy companies. Borenstein also quoted a meteorologist at the insurance company Munich Re, who said a bigger role in natural disaster costs is that more people are living in areas prone to extreme weather.
Pielke suggested his answers didn’t match the narrative Borenstein was looking for.
And of course, Borenstein’s article did quote Mann, who told him global warming was making extreme weather worse, despite the fact respected scientific institutions have slapped down that claim.

Anti-Fossil Fuel Groups Admit No Air Testing Conducted In Oklahoma Emissions Report [Excerpts]
Two anti-fossil fuel groups who collaborated on a report released this month alleging improper emissions from oil and gas facilities in Oklahoma admitted last week that they did not collect corresponding air testing data to support their claims.
The Coalition for Oklahoma’s Renewable Energy (CORE), with assistance from national environmental group EarthWorks, issued a report calling attention to what it claimed were multiple instances of a “invisible oil spills” at Oklahoma oil and gas production facilities using “Forward-Looking Infrared” (FLIR) cameras.
When pressed by local news media, however, a spokeswoman for EarthWorks admitted the supposed camera evidence was not backed up by air quality data or any measurements substantiating claims that any substance, including methane, the report’s targeted emission, was conclusively documented in the report.
Chad Warmington, president of the Oklahoma Oil and Gas Association (OKOGA), told Western Wire last week that “EarthWorks is using scare tactics to advance a keep-it-in-the-ground agenda” and that the report’s authors—Earthworks and CORE—“are not offering any scientific data collection from these drones to back their claims.”

Former Vice President Al Gore said he tried and failed to bring President Donald Trump around on the topic of manmade global warming, claiming that “climate deniers” have “captured” the president’s mind.

Steyer gave $91 million to Democrats and liberal causes in the 2016 election, according to the Center for Responsive Politics (CRP).

Facts and Data Don’t Support Global Warming Hysteria [Excerpts]
Hurricanes, like Harvey and Irma, are not evidence of global warming, but their effects are exaggerated by alarmists. The Houston flooding was due to the hurricane being slow moving and the fact that Houston is easily flooded. This is supported by statements from atmospheric scientists. The latest observational statistics on global warming show that man’s contribution to global warming has been slight. We must look at all the facts on environmental issues.
Climate change alarmists exaggerate the effects of hurricanes. Houston is especially prone to flooding. Hurricane Harvey was very slow moving. Observations show that global warming has been slight so far. The climate simulations are too sensitive for a doubling of carbon dioxide. We are stewards of the earth, but we need to gather all the facts first. Hurricanes are presently being used as the poster child for global warming, now called “climate change,” largely because hurricanes are extremely destructive and grab global attention. Like all other recent weather disasters, hurricanes are touted as proof the climate is changing because of our love affair with oil and coal.
Global warming alarmists focused especially on Houston because of the extensive flooding. Unmentioned is the fact that Houston is very prone to flooding. It is built on extraordinarily flat ground, and “most local waterways are slow-moving creeks and bayous that wind their way through town and eventually trickle into the shallow, marshy Trinity bay.”3 The city of Houston floods regularly, “but such propagandists don’t know much, or anything, about the Houston floods of 1837, 1841, 1853, 1875, 1879, 1887, 1913, 1929, 1932, 1935, and so forth.”4 Floods of late are more devastating than those in the past because the population of Houston has soared to over six million. Many of the homes are built on flood plains. Parking lots, sidewalks, and roads conspire to reduce the amount of floodwater that can be absorbed into the soil.
...(Dr.) Frank points out many of the previous devastating hurricanes for Florida and the Gulf Coast, beginning in 1886 when a record number of seven major hurricanes struck the United States. A powerful hurricane swamped Galveston, Texas, killing at least 6,000 people in 1900. These and many other disasters occurred before major emissions of carbon dioxide. He goes on to mention Hurricane Claudette in 1979 which stalled near Houston and dumped 42 inches of rain at Alvin, Texas, in one day, which was (and still is) the record amount of 24 hour precipitation for any location in the United States. This is close to the totals from Hurricane Harvey which occurred in 3 to 4 days.
Global warming is a fact. It is supported by warmer temperatures recorded over most of the globe, the shrinkage of practically all mountain glaciers, and the decrease in sea ice on the Arctic Ocean since about 1980. However, it is important to note the amount of warming has been slight, officially about 1.6°F since 1880.8 Another thing to keep in mind is that the temperature records themselves have many biases toward warmth, and there are data-sparse regions. Alarmist scientists have been caught red-handed tampering with raw data in order to exaggerate sea level rise. The raw (unadjusted) data from three Indian Ocean gauges – Aden, Karachi and Mumbai – showed that local sea level trends in the last 140 years had been very gently rising, neutral or negative (ie sea levels had fallen).
But after the evidence had been adjusted by tidal records gatekeepers at the global databank Permanent Service for Mean Sea Level (PSMSL) it suddenly showed a sharp and dramatic rise.
Kenneth Richard at No Tricks Zone reports: The authors expose how PSMSL data-adjusters make it appear that stable sea levels can be rendered to look like they are nonetheless rising at an accelerated pace. The data-adjusters take misaligned and incomplete sea level data from tide gauges that show no sea level rise (or even a falling trend). Then, they subjectively and arbitrarily cobble them together, or realign them. In each case assessed, PSMSL data-adjusters lower the earlier misaligned rates and raise the more recent measurements. By doing so, they concoct a new linearly-rising trend.
So there is nothing per se wrong with PSMSL making adjustments in order to make the different datasets align. What is wrong is the way that the scientists at PSMSL have adjusted them. In every case, they have revised them in order to make them produce a sharp upward trend in sea level rise – despite the fact that global records do not support this.
The truth, Parker and Ollier conclude in their paper, is that sea level has changed very little in the three sites examined: The reconstructed tide gauge records of Aden, Mumbai and Karachi are perfectly consistent with multiple lines of evidence from other key sites of the Indian Ocean including Qatar, Maldives, Bangladesh and Visakhapatnam. The sea levels have been stable since the start of the twentieth century in Aden similar to Karachi and Mumbai.

New Book Encourages Kids To Throw ‘Tantrums’ To Stop Global Warming [Excerpts]
An Australian author and noted climate scientist are asking for donations to publish a children’s book that “explains climate change to kids and empowers them to act” and is also carbon neutral, according to their KickStarter page.
The children’s book, “The Tantrum That Saved The World,” encourages kids to become global warming activists.
Author Megan Herbert and scientist Michael Mann want to publish a children’s book that tells a “story about a little girl who comes face to face with an enormous challenge, feels all kinds of frustration as she tries to overcome it, and then channels those strong emotions into action, rallying all those around her to do the same,” the authors wrote on KickStarter.
In a promotional video, Herbert said that while parents should ordinarily discourage kids from throwing tantrums, “these are not ordinary times.”
“This is the one time we should encourage our kids to make a bit of noise,” Herbert said. “They didn’t create this mess, and they have every right to be upset about it.” She added that those emotions should be channeled into “positive actions.”

Report Says Earth Will Become Desert W/out Paris Deal [Excerpts]
A huge swath of the planet could turn into a desert if the international community doesn’t meet the goals of the Paris climate change agreement, climate researchers claim in their newest warning about global warming.
The new report, published Monday in the journal Nature Climate Change, holds that an increase of 2 degrees Celsius in the Earth’s temperature by 2050 would plunge more than 25 percent of the world’s population into a perpetual state of drought and growing desertification, as reported by the Washington Examiner.
The answer, according to the researchers, is to stop the planet’s temperature from rising by more than 1.5 degrees Celsius, which they say would significantly reduce the number of regions affected by the drying of the planet, or “aridification.”
“Our research predicts that aridification would emerge over about 20-30 percent of the world’s land surface by the time the global mean temperature change reaches 2 degrees Celsius,” said Manoj Joshi, lead researcher from the U.K.’s University of East Anglia. “But two-thirds of the affected regions could avoid significant aridification if warming is limited to 1.5 degrees Celsius.”
The University of East Anglia has been a center of activism on the issue of “global warming” for many years, repeatedly issuing reports that the earth’s temperatures are rising, and humans are to blame, and the results will be catastrophic.
This study comes in the midst of a cold spell that has caused record-breaking low temperatures across most of the United States. The East coast, South, Midwest and Great Plains have all been blasted by this cold air, with daily low temperatures falling below 0 degrees Fahrenheit in many areas.
It was only a few day earlier that a new report from Kenneth Richard at NoTricksZone revealed a list of studies that are forecasting global cooling.
Richard compiled a list of multiple studies from the past few years drawing the same conclusion: It’s the sun’s activities that have a huge influence on whether earth’s temperatures vary. Thirteen forecast global cooling.
Richard explained: “It has been increasingly established that low solar activity (few sunspots) and increased cloud cover (as modulated by cosmic rays) are highly associated with a cooling climate. In recent years, the earth has unfortunately left a period of very high solar activity, the Modern Grand Maximum. Periods of high solar activity correspond to multi-decadal- to centennial-scale warming.”
In fact, over the last century America’s major media have predicted an impending global climate crisis four different times – each prediction warning that entire countries would be wiped out or that lower crop yields would mean “billions will die.” In 1895, the panic was over an imminent ice age. Later, in the late 1920s, when the earth’s surface warmed less than half a degree, the media jumped on a new threat – global warming, which continued into the late 1950s. Then in 1975, the New York Times’ headline blared, “A Major Cooling Widely Considered to Be Inevitable.” Then in 1981 it was back to global warming, with the Times quoting seven government atmospheric scientists who predicted global warming of an “almost unprecedented magnitude.”
Today, to cover all their bases, much of the press has changed its terminology from “global warming” to “climate change” or “climate catastrophe.” That way they’re covered either way.

In the Gore touted article, Mann linked the cold and “lots of snow” to “climate change.”
Gore’s Oscar-winning documentary An Inconvenient Truth did not warn of record cold and increasing snowfalls as a consequence of man-made global warming. And as recently as 2009, Gore was hyping the lack of snow as evidence for man-made global warming.
But as the snow piled up, the climate change claims were adjusted and cold and snow were added to the list of things caused by “global warming.
Predictions of less snow and less severe winters were hammered into the public by global warming scientists. But once that predictions failed to come true, the opposite of what they predicted instead became—what they expected.
If “climate change” is causing record cold and snow, then it would stand to reason that Gore is suggesting that if the U.S. had ratified the UN’s Kyoto Protocol treaty on “global warming” back in the 1990’s — the winter of 2018 would have been warmer?
Reality Check: But scientists are not buying the claims of Gore and Mann and others linking the record cold and snow to “global warming.”

STUDY: Worst-Case Global Warming Scenarios Not Credible [Excerpts]
Earth's surface will almost certainly not warm up four or five degrees Celsius by 2100, according to a study released Wednesday which, if correct, voids worst-case UN climate change predictions.
A revised calculation of how greenhouse gases drive up the planet's temperature reduces the range of possible end-of-century outcomes by more than half, researchers said in the report, published in the journal Nature.
"Our study all but rules out very low and very high climate sensitivities," said lead author Peter Cox, a professor at the University of Exeter.
"These scientists have produced a more accurate estimate of how the planet will respond to increasing CO2 levels," said Piers Forster, director of the Priestley International Centre for Climate at the University of Leeds.
Up to now, attempts to narrow down the elusive equilibrium climate sensitivity have focused on the historical temperature record.
Cox and colleagues instead "considered the year-to-year fluctuations in global temperature," said Richard Allan, a climate scientist at the University of Reading.
By analysing the responsiveness of short-term changes in temperature to "nudges and bumps" in the climate system, he explained, they were able to exclude the outcomes that would have resulted in devastating increases of 4 C or more by 2100.

Of more immediate concern (according to a "gloom & doom" report on NPR yesterday), is the "resurrection" of "ancient" bacteria in the arctic, brought back to life (they were never really dead, of course) by the melting of the permafrost. :o According to the report, these bacteria are 25,000 years old, and who knows what havoc they could wreak. How about they're only about 4000 years old, and aren't much different from today's bacteria?

I don't see how anyone living in Maine (or Siberia) could take that claim seriously. A warmer climate produces more evaporation, which puts more moisture into the atmosphere. What goes up must come down--in the form of rain or snow. It all balances out. Rainfall in various regions varies, of course, and there are floods and droughts, but desertification on a broad scale is just "Chicken Little" nonsense.

Scientists Buried in Snow While Lecturing on Global Warming [Excerpts]
Scientists have once again set up a mock Arctic base camp to educate world leaders about man-made global warming at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland. Climate scientists hope their mock camp illustrates how global warming could impact the Arctic, but the “Gore effect” may make it harder to get the message across. Davos has seen frigid temperatures along with about six feet of snow in the last six days.
There was so much snow, authorities evacuated some neighborhoods due to avalanche concerns, CNBC reported. Global elites headed to the conference had to force their way through heavy snow drifts.
CNBC reported that “heavy snow had already blocked the rail line through the Alps from Zurich, and villages along the route were at the highest level of avalanche alert.” Davos visitors were forced off trains and onto “a half-hour bus trip on back roads around the blockage and then loading them onto a crowded red commuter train that ran the rest of the way into Davos.”

Al Gore would have lost global warming bet, academic says [Excerpts]
In 2007, Professor Scott Armstrong at the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton business school challenged Al Gore to a $10,000 bet about temperatures over the next decade. Fox News reported on the challenge at the time.
The bet proposal was to compare the U.N.’s standard global warming model against Armstrong’s prediction of no increase at all. The money would have gone to charity.
Gore declined the bet. According to Armstrong, a Gore spokesman said that, “Mr. Gore simply does not wish to participate in a financial wager.” Now, 10 years after the offer, Armstrong is declaring victory, albeit a moral one.
rom the would-be bet period of 2008 through the end of 2017, Armstrong’s prediction of zero temperature change was more accurate in more months than the standard U.N. model, which predicts an increase in temperatures.
But the bet result comes with the caveat that, in the last two years, warming has been high. In those years, the U.N. model’s prediction was most accurate. But overall across the whole decade, Armstrong's "no change" model edged out the U.N. model that Gore relies on.
Armstrong is a marketing professor, but says that he focuses on forecasting methods. He often predicts things like automobile sales.

And now comes this report that the sun may start a cooling trend. Of course the sun has nothing whatsoever to do with "climate change." And, of course, they claim that it won't stop "global warming." When the reference the 17th century as an example, I'm ready to move to Florida, or maybe Costa Rica. Of course, if it waits until 2050, I'll either be too old to care, or dead, or in heaven, preferably the latter.

Climate Change Saves Tuvalu [Excerpts]
(Tuvalu is the island nation that we have been repeatedly told is sinking beneath the sea)
It seems like it happens every week. Another conventional wisdom shot to smithereens. This time it's the island nation Tuvalu, the famous "sinking" island, used for years as a rallying cry for action by climate-change alarmists.
But last week scientists at the University of Aukland published results in the journal Nature Communications that "challenge perceptions" of the smart set.
The study's introduction took a surprising turn:
"Sea-level rise and climatic change threaten the existence of atoll nations. Inundation and erosion are expected to render islands uninhabitable over the next century, forcing human migration. Here we present analysis of shoreline change in all 101 islands in the Pacific atoll nation of Tuvalu. Using remotely sensed data, change is analysed over the past four decades, a period when local sea level has risen at twice the global average (~3.90 ± 0.4 mm.yr−1). Results highlight a net increase in land area in Tuvalu of 73.5 ha (2.9%), despite sea-level rise, and land area increase in eight of nine atolls."
"In other words, Tuvalu has been growing this whole time. Over the past 40 years Tuvalu has added roughly 181 acres of new land—all while sea levels were rising at twice the global average."
In July 2011, the Times ran an opinion piece in entitled, "Life After Land." The editorial argued for a United Nations resolution to protect the people of Tuvalu once it "loses its permanent population and territory to rising seawater."
"If the international community cannot or will not slow global warming, the least it can do is help those states prepare for life after land by recognizing a new category of state—the deterritorialized state," the editorial stated.

Anti-Fossil Fuel Groups Admit No Air Testing Conducted In Oklahoma Emissions Report [Excerpts]
Two anti-fossil fuel groups who collaborated on a report released this month alleging improper emissions from oil and gas facilities in Oklahoma admitted last week that they did not collect corresponding air testing data to support their claims.
The Coalition for Oklahoma’s Renewable Energy (CORE), with assistance from national environmental group EarthWorks, issued a report calling attention to what it claimed were multiple instances of a “invisible oil spills” at Oklahoma oil and gas production facilities using “Forward-Looking Infrared” (FLIR) cameras.
When pressed by local news media, however, a spokeswoman for EarthWorks admitted the supposed camera evidence was not backed up by air quality data or any measurements substantiating claims that any substance, including methane, the report’s targeted emission, was conclusively documented in the report.
“It is the regulator’s job to do air testing to make sure that these sites are in compliance with state and national rules,” EarthWorks representative Hilary Lewis told the Times and Free Press. “Unfortunately, neither EarthWorks nor CORE has the resources to do air testing at all the oil and gas sites we visit.”
Lewis told the Times and Free Press that air quality tests that might quantify what the group claimed the infrared drone photography captured, such as methane or other pollutants, were not undertaken by the group in order to corroborate the assertions made in the report.
EarthWorks’ most recent Form 990 report shows receipts of just over $2.4 million for 2015.

Decline of Polar Bears is Fake News [Excerpts]
A new report by the U.K.-based Global Warming Policy Foundation disproves the popular narrative that climate change is killing off the polar bear population.
The report was compiled by zoologist Dr. Susan Crockford, and says that although Arctic sea-ice has declined recently, the numbers of polar bears have remained stable and have actually increased slightly.
In one region where polar bear numbers have dropped, the reason isn't too little sea-ice, but too much of it.
"Ice levels during the key feeding period in Spring have been good, and prey species have been abundant. It's not really a surprise that polar bears are doing so well," Crockford said in a press release.
"The fearmongering from the media and the polar bear specialists is now backfiring," Crockford added. "They convinced the world that polar bears were doomed but the facts got out. Now would be a good time to set the story straight."
The report chastises media for over-hyping "scientifically insignificant events" to push global warming.
The Executive Summary includes the following points:
Global polar bear numbers have been stable or risen slightly since 2005, despite the fact that summer sea ice since 2007 hit levels not expected until mid-century: the predicted 67 percent decline in polar bear numbers did not occur.
Abundant prey and adequate sea ice in spring and early summer since 2007 appear to explain why global polar bear numbers have not declined, as might have been expected as a result of low summer sea ice levels.
The greatest change in sea ice habitat since 1979 was experienced by Barents Sea polar bears and the least by those in Southern Hudson Bay, the most southerly region inhabited by bears.
As far as is known, the record low extent of sea ice in March 2017 had no impact on polar bear health or survival.
Some studies show bears are lighter in weight than they were in the 1980s, but none showed an increase in the number of individuals starving to death or too thin to reproduce.
A just-released report of Southern Beaufort Sea bears having difficulty finding prey in 2014– 2016 suggests that the thick ice events that have impacted the region every ten years or so since the 1960s have continued despite reduced summer sea ice.
Claims of widespread hybridization of polar bears with grizzlies were disproven by DNA studies.
Overly pessimistic media responses to recent polar bear issues have made heartbreaking news out of scientifically insignificant events, suggesting an attempt is being made to restore the status of this failed global warming icon.

Judge Lets Off Al Gore’s Trespassing Daughter Because Climate Protest was ‘Necessity’
A judge found 13 climate change activists, including Karenna Gore, the daughter of former Vice President Al Gore, not responsible for civil infractions related to trespassing, the Boston Herald reported.
“The people … were found not responsible by reason of necessity. The irony is that we are making ourselves responsible. We’re part of the movement that is standing up and saying we won’t let this go by on our watch. We won’t act like nothing’s wrong,” Karenna Gore said.
olice arrested Gore and about 200 other activists who protested the construction of a high pressure gas pipeline in West Roxbury, Massachusetts, the Independent reported. Thirteen of the protesters climbed into the construction trench, were arrested, and were charged with criminal trespassing and disturbing the peace.
A week before trial, however, prosecutors asked that the court reduce the criminal charges to civil infractions. Gore argued their protests constituted “reasonable necessity.”
It was “an act of civil disobedience to say it is necessary that we pay attention,” Gore said to the court. “Now is the time to pay attention and to change course is what is needed because it’s a moral and ethical issue.”
Gore and the other defendants shared their beliefs about climate change and why they had to protest the pipeline construction.
Judge Mary Ann Driscoll of West Roxbury District Court agreed that the defendants were not responsible because their actions were done “out of necessity.” “Based on the very heartfelt expressions of the defendants who believe, and I don’t question their beliefs in any respect, who believe in their cause because they believe they were entitled to invoke the necessity defense, I’ll accept what they said,” Driscoll said.
Law experts said the case could serve as vital precedent about how the courts treat climate change protesters who break the law.
“It may well be the first of its kind in a case involving climate change, in that it’s a judicial recognition of the measures that we need to take to address climate change,” said Andrew Fischer, a lawyer for the defendants. “In that sense, it is a revolutionary step.”

Lawyer Burns Himself to Death in NY to Protest Global Warming
) A “green” activist who was a pioneering lawyer for gay and transgender rights — including in the notorious “Boys Don’t Cry” rape murder case — committed suicide by setting himself on fire Saturday morning in Brooklyn’s Prospect Park in a grisly act of protest against the ecological destruction of the Earth.
David Buckel, 60, left behind a charred corpse and a typed suicide note that said he was burning himself to death using “fossil fuel” to reflect how mankind was likewise killing itself, police sources said.
He left the note in a manila envelope marked “To The Police,” recovered from inside a black metal pushcart he discarded at the scene.
“Most humans on the planet now breathe air made unhealthy by fossil fuels, and many die early deaths as a result,” Buckel wrote in his note, which he also sent to the New York Times.
“My early death by fossil fuel reflects what we are doing to ourselves.”
He added, “Honorable purpose in life invites honorable purpose in death.” Passers-by were horrified to see Buckel’s burned remains.
“It was just lying there, on its back, knees slightly bent like someone would lie on the sand at the beach,” said Irena Ryjova, 44, a rollerblader who passed by at about 7 a.m., less than an hour after the immolation.
“It’s a shock; it’s a shame,” said mom Dana Lall as she shepherded a crowd of Catholic-school kids past the horrific scene, en route to a baseball game…

L.A. Paints Streets White to Fight ‘Climate Change’
Los Angeles officials are going forward with a $40,000-a-mile program to coat public streets to fight climate change, despite the city’s many financial challenges — including a $73 million budget shortfall for dealing with the ever-expanding homeless population.
The program uses a light-colored sealant to cover the streets, which decreases the pavement temperature of so-called “heat-islands,” according to media reports.
Fox News reported (original links): “The LA Street Services began rolling out the project last May, which preliminary testing shows has reduced the temperature of roadways by up to 10 degrees.” ‘The project involves applying a light gray coating of the product CoolSeal, made by the company GuardTop.”
“CoolSeal is applied like conventional sealcoats to asphalt surfaces to protect and maintain the quality and longevity of the surface,” according to the company website. “While most cool pavements on the market are polymer based, CoolSeal is a water-based, asphalt emulsion.”
Last year, the L.A. Daily News reported on the high cost of the project — and that local officials approved it nonetheless.
“The morning temperature of the black asphalt in the middle of a nearby intersection read 93 degrees. The new light gray surface on Jordan Avenue read a cool 70 — on what would turn out to be the first heat wave of the year.”
“It’s awesome. You would think a lawyer would understand this. In his death he did just what he blamed others for doing. On the other hand, Wally, being a lawyer he probably did his homework and found that by cutting his life short, dying ten years prematurely (3 score and ten minus 10=60) the amount of carbon dioxide he did not produce was a greater saving than the carbon dioxide release by the fire. But, he failed to consider the rest of the foul air he produced besides the carbon dioxide. So in the end, he was like many other lawyers, short sighted. He may have been hoping that there would be rioting in the streets of New York. All Gore's daughter was active. There is another example that reveals serious difficulties with those who are so concerned about me driving to work or heating my home in a freezing winter. Al used to live a very large house, drive a very large car, and fly in a very large plane. If I lived to be the age of Methuselah (969) I would not produce the amount of carbon dioxide that this active soothsayer has. I won't live that long, not on this Earth. Environmentalists Spread Fake News About Polar Bear’s Sad Death [Excerpts]
Ideological environmentalists manipulated the death of a starving polar bear to fit their narrative of man-made climate change.
National Geographic said it “went too far” and wrote an apology on Aug. 25 for making an unverified correlation between a dying polar bear, who was likely starving from natural causes, and shrinking polar ice caps.
“We said, ‘This is what climate change looks like.’ While science has established that there is a strong connection between melting sea ice and polar bears dying off, there is no way to know for certain why this bear was on the verge of death,” National Geographic wrote in an editor’s note.
Biologist Paul Nickelsen, who works for SeaLegacy, a Canadian nonprofit environmental protection company, took the picture and video in August 2017 and posted it in December 2017 with the caption, “This is what starvation looks like,” Financial Post reported.
National Geographic published the now-updated article under the subtitle, “This is what climate change looks like.”
SeaLegacy republished the video and made their agenda more obvious with the headline, “This is the face of climate change.” About 2.5 billion people watched the video that stirred anger against man-made climate change.
Zoologist Susan Crawford made a video on YouTube that examines the scientific community’s manipulation of the story.
The public asked why Nickelsen could not help the polar bear.
“It would also have been illegal to feed him, to approach him, or to do anything to ease his pain,” he said.
Crawford said Nickelsen should have called a conservation officer to euthanize the bear and perform an autopsy to determine the true cause of his starvation, which Crawford said was likely cancer due to the bear’s muscular atrophy.
“But a necropsy result would have hamstrung Nicklen’s plan to use the starving-bear video to spur action on climate change, so he and his crew simply let the bear swim away without telling anyone, extending the animal’s suffering,” Crawford wrote in the Financial Post.

SIERRA CLUB: ‘Study’ Says Climate ‘Deniers’ are Racist [Excerpts]
Elites in the left-wing environmental movement have a new theory about climate change, and it’s one that seems to echo an array of progressive-liberal theories on a range of public policy issues.
Those who are skeptical that global warming is legitimate, and chiefly caused by humans, are racist.
“People who don’t believe that climate change is real are more likely to be old, more likely to be Republican, and more likely to be white. They are also more likely to have racist beliefs,” the opening lines of a new Sierra Club article say.
“This correlation is a relatively recent phenomenon – one that occurred in the wake of Barack Obama’s election in 2008,” the article continued.
The narrative frames Obama as an environmental moderate who rejected the Keystone XL pipeline due to its alleged harmful effects on climate, but also says he was “too cautious” when it came to driving home more radical policies.
The Environmental Politics study hypothesizes that opposing Barack Obama’s political agenda in relation to the environment was racism because Obama was the first black president.

STUDY: Decline of Polar Bears is Fake News [Excerpts]
A new report by the U.K.-based Global Warming Policy Foundation disproves the popular narrative that climate change is killing off the polar bear population.
The report was compiled by zoologist Dr. Susan Crockford, and says that although Arctic sea-ice has declined recently, the numbers of polar bears have remained stable and have actually increased slightly.
In one region where polar bear numbers have dropped, the reason isn’t too little sea-ice, but too much of it.
“Ice levels during the key feeding period in Spring have been good, and prey species have been abundant. It’s not really a surprise that polar bears are doing so well,” Crockford said in a press release.
“The fearmongering from the media and the polar bear specialists is now backfiring,” Crockford added. “They convinced the world that polar bears were doomed but the facts got out. Now would be a good time to set the story straight.”
The report chastises media for over-hyping “scientifically insignificant events” to push global warming.

As far as is known, the record low extent of sea ice in March 2017 had no impact on polar bear health or survival.
Some studies show bears are lighter in weight than they were in the 1980s, but none showed an increase in the number of individuals starving to death or too thin to reproduce.
A just-released report of Southern Beaufort Sea bears having difficulty finding prey in 2014– 2016 suggests that the thick ice events that have impacted the region every ten years or so since the 1960s have continued despite reduced summer sea ice.
Claims of widespread hybridization of polar bears with grizzlies were disproven by DNA studies.
Overly pessimistic media responses to recent polar bear issues have made heartbreaking news out of scientifically insignificant events, suggesting an attempt is being made to restore the status of this failed global warming icon.

In yet another example of a journalist behaving like activist, a prominent news reporter travelled to the Pacific Island nation of Kiribati to document the devastating effects of global warming first-hand.
Tragically, Kiribati is sinking into the ocean and will soon disappear forever, Joshua Keating wrote in a recent Washington Post feature article entitled “The Sinking State.”
But the people of Kiribati beg to differ, as truth advocacy group Just Facts reported earlier this week. They’re quite aware that their home island is not sinking at all. In fact, it’s growing.
Keating seized on this and claimed that “not that long from now” global warming will “probably” destroy Kiribati.
It may be “one of the first” nations, he added, to be “wiped out by the effects of climate change.”
Scientific studies, however, have drawn opposite conclusions in recent years, as Just Facts pointed out.
A 2010 study published in the journal Global and Planetary Change used aerial and satellite data to conduct “the first quantitative analysis of physical changes” in 27 Pacific coral reef islands, including those in Kiribati.
The paper’s scientific authors said the “results of this study contradict widespread perceptions that all reef islands are eroding in response to recent sea level rise.”
A 2013 scholarly paper in the journal Sustainability Science examined “changes in shoreline position on the majority of reef islands” in the capital city of Tarawa from 1943 to 2007. It found that these islands “substantially increased in size.”
But facts are sometimes inconvenient to journalists with agendas.
Amazingly, Keating went so far as to say that the Kiribati people’s reluctance to join the climate change narrative was due to a “mental block” that makes them unwilling to face the truth.

Calif. Blames Global Warming for Pollution Caused by Its Own Bad Laws [Excerpts]
Despite California’s best efforts, decades of ever-increasing environmental mandates have failed to produce the outdoor utopia the state’s progressive leaders have long promised.
But that doesn’t mean they won’t stop trying — no matter the consequences.
As this year’s heat waves and record wildfires have been blamed in large part, if not all, on climate change, another environmental catastrophe looks to be ripe for scapegoating.
According to the Los Angeles Times, Southern California went 87 days in a row this summer without clean air — the largest stretch of bad air in nearly 20 years.
An “environmental engineering” professor from the University of California-Davis said the dubious record should be a serious “wake up call.”
But instead of a course correction, California environmentalists and community groups say the string of smoggy days is a symptom of “insufficient regulation,” and they’re taking aim at the usual suspects — diesel trucks, shipping ports and oil companies.
Tom Tanton, director of the Energy and Environmental Legal Institute, says that is the exact wrong approach.
Tanton not only disagrees, but he pins much of California’s environmental problems on the very regulations that were supposed to solve them. He says it’s a case of unintended consequences followed by politically-motivated doubling- and tripling-down.
“What if current regulations, in addition to killing jobs, are actually adding to our pollution problems not solving them?” he proposed in a Forbes article.
“The Left regulates and regulates in an effort to reduce so-called greenhouse gases – without ever asking if it is really working,” he explained.
With 40 years of experience in the field of energy and environmental policy, Tanton says that California is the “poster child of what not to do,” and contends that the state’s regulations are killing jobs — some 500,000 manufacturing jobs over the past 25 years — in addition to adding to the state’s pollution problems.

A landmark United Nations report revealed that catastrophic events induced by climate change could become regular occurrences as soon as 2040.
The UN’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change predicts disastrous effects around the world if greenhouse gas emissions continue to increase at their current rate. Previously, scientists believed these severe consequences would happen if the planet warmed by 2 degrees Celsius (3.6 degrees Fahrenheit); now, the threshold is only 1.5 C (2.7 F).
Another related study highlights the extreme toll climate change has already taken on the human psyche, 22 years before the 2040 warning.
Short-term exposure to extreme weather, multi-year warming, and tropical cyclone exposure are all associated with worsened mental health, scientists affirm in the journal Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.
“Our paper — when coupled with evidence that climate change may impact everyday human moods to severe outcomes like suicide — provides further evidence that exposure to heat, on average, worsens mental health outcomes,” study co-author and MIT Media Lab research scientist Nick Obradovich, Ph.D., tells Inverse.
Obradovich and his colleagues reached this conclusion by analyzing the mental health data of nearly 2 million Americans, as well as daily meteorological and climatic data taken between 2002 and 2012.
“If we push global temperature rise into the 2 degrees-plus Celsius range, the impacts on human well-being, including mental health, may be catastrophic,” he says. Between 2002 and 2012, approximately 2 million individuals reported the state of their mental health through a CDC survey.
Each respondent was asked to report how stress, depression, and “problems with emotions” affected their mental health over a period of 30 days.
When Obradovich and his colleagues evaluated those responses alongside data concerning multi-year warming, they discovered that, on average, monthly temperatures hotter than 30 degrees Celsius — or 86 degrees Fahrenheit — were associated with more reports of mental health difficulties.

Astronaut-Geologist Says ‘No Evidence’ Exists to Support Man-Made Climate Change [Excerpts]
Apollo 17 astronaut Harrison “Jack” Schmitt was the last of 12 human beings to have ever walked on the moon. He’s also among a handful of people to boldly challenge climate change theory from within the elite scientific community.
“...I’m a geologist. I know the Earth is not nearly as fragile as we tend to think it is. It has gone through climate change, it is going through climate change at the present time,” Schmitt said.
He then asked the audience, “Is there any evidence that human beings are causing that change? ”The reply was a resounding, “yes.”
Wrong again, Schmitt said.
“Right now, in my profession, there is no evidence. There are models. But models of very, very complex natural systems are often wrong. The observations that we make as geologists, and observational climatologists, do not show any evidence that human beings are causing this,” he explained.
One of the leading climate models is produced by the United Nations’ Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, and last week the IPCC released a new report predicting an oncoming irreversible climate doomsday.
St. Fleur pounced on the IPCC report when challenging Schmitt: “There was a huge report that just came out last week [talking about] the risk and what is going to happen … as soon as 2040.”
The report calls for “urgent and unprecedented changes” at the high-end of the Paris Climate Agreement “to keep temperatures between 1.5 degrees Celsius and 2 degrees Celsius.” If not, the authors predict a climate catastrophe.
But the IPCC is hardly infallible, as Canadian climate experts Tim Ball and Tom Harris point out in a recent Washington Times analysis.
“The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change climate forecasts were wrong from their earliest reports in 1990. They were so inaccurate that they stopped calling them forecasts and made three ‘projections’: low, medium, and high. Since then, even their ‘low’ scenario projections were wrong,” they wrote on Monday.
They further explained that the IPCC creates an illusion of certainty about their reports and forecasts by giving the impression that they are studying all causes of climate change, rather than just man-made pollution.
“It allow(s) them to ignore all non-human causes of change, including the Sun,” they said.
“I, as a scientist, expect to have people question orthodoxy. And we always used to do that. Now, unfortunately, funding by governments, particularly the United States government, is biasing science toward what the government wants to hear. That’s a very dangerous thing that’s happening in science today, and it’s not just in climate,” Schmitt said.

Al Gore Admits UN Climate Change Report is ‘Torqued Up’ [Excerpts]

Former vice president and climate change activist Al Gore recently warned that climate change is an “existential threat” and that President Donald Trump’s pragmatic approach is a dangerous “outlier reaction,” while confessing that a major U.N. climate report was sensationalized to get people to take notice.
But the most unpredictable portion of the exchange occurred when Woodruff brought up the latest United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change report—the gold standard among climate change alarmists.
In an odd admission, Gore said the report was artificially enhanced in order to cause a stir—and rightly so, from his point of view.
“The language that the IPCC used in presenting it was torqued up a little bit, appropriately—how [else] do they get the attention of policy-makers around the world?” he said.
The causal acknowledgment of misleading information is stunning considering the scope of economic and political actions Gore and others say is necessary to stem an oncoming global warming crisis.

It didn’t, but the goalposts have now moved to 2040. Gore would be 93 years old.
My children were taught in school the mantra, "think globally, act locally." From the cradle babes are being trained to think as "world citizens." But as critics of celebrity climate-change holy-rollers often observe, Ford has a terrible record of practicing what he preaches.
The actor, whose net worth is an estimated $230 million, is an avid private air traveler.
He once boasted in an interview that, “I’m so passionate about flying, I often fly up the coast for a cheeseburger.”
In June 2015, Ford was spotted in London disembarking from his massive private jet.
According to the Institute for Policy Studies, a single private jet trip contributes more greenhouse gases than the average American does in an entire year.
Ford took his private jet to celebrate fellow “Star Wars” actor Mark Hamill’s Hollywood Star on the city’s touristy “Walk of Fame” last year.
And he even bragged about his collection of private airplanes and gas-guzzling hot-rod cars in another 2018 interview.
But in Dubai, Ford also lamented how people all over the Western world are fighting back against elitist and governmental efforts to impose vast economic and political climate diktats on their own populations.

Climate Alarmist Bernie Sanders Is Addicted to Carbon-Spewing Private Jets [Excerpts]
It was “a running joke” inside Hillary Clinton’s 2016 presidential campaign: Bernie Sanders, the socialist climate change alarmist, loved using private jets.
According to Politico, Sanders often requested to use Clinton campaign jets while helping Hillary during the general election — only months after the Clinton-controlled DNC allegedly cheated him in the Democratic primary.
The Clinton campaign told Sanders private jets were a needless extravagance and asked the senator to fly commercial, but Sanders claimed flying private was the only way he could make Hillary’s various campaign stops.
The self-identifying socialist U.S. senator from Vermont liked using a Gulfstream plane, and he racked-up at least $100,000 in flight costs over three separate multi-day trips in the last two months of the failed campaign.
Since then, Sanders has continued to fly on private jets at a cost of more than $342,000.
The 2020 presidential contender’s lavish hypocrisy is at odds with his working-man schtick to thwart the privileged rich, and his radical sky-is-falling embrace of climate change.
“Climate change is not only real, it is already doing irreparable harm all over this planet, including the United States of America,” he told CBS’s “Face the Nation” last November. “What Congress has got to do is take Trump on, take the fossil fuel industry on, and transform our energy system away from fossil fuel, to energy efficiency and sustainable energies like solar and wind.”
Marc Morano, the executive editor of ClimateDepot.com, called it “rank hypocrisy” on Tuesday.
Speaking on “Fox & Friends,” Morano said, “Outside of Al Gore, in electoral politics, Bernie was the guy as the number one ‘climate guru”… and he just can’t keep himself out of these private jets.”

I can't help but laugh when I hear that 15 million years ago, something fantastic happened. I don't remember what it was, but it was laughable. Then there was the explosion some billions of years ago. I don't recall the reporter who witnessed the event. Science? So called. And these are the really smart ones with letters after their names. The ones who say the world is going to freeze 40 years ago, and now tell us we don't have to worry about freezing, we are going to have warmer temps. I am relieved, we will be able to grow veggies in Alaska and Siberia. God is in control and allows Satan to play these games so that we will understand our continual need of a Savior.

According to The Nation, Friday’s staged protest, which incorporated Green New Deal advocacy, was to involve tens of thousands of middle- and high-school students in 30-some countries, disrupting many a classroom in the process.
The Sunrise Movement’s campaign ultimately produced the lawsuit Juliana vs. United States and several other spin-offs that used children as the plaintiffs to spur policies to address global warming.
Organizations such as Our Children’s Trust now provide teams of lawyers to help coach and direct the juveniles, doted upon by the liberal 9th Circuit court in San Francisco, to launch their attacks on energy producers.
However, the children’s lawsuits have met with mixed results elsewhere.
In January, the Colorado Supreme Court shot down a bid by a group of Boulder teens to block future drilling permits in the state.

They speak from both sides of their mouths, with forked tongue. One the one hand they call it "climate change," to hide the fact that it is colder in some places, rather than warmer; and on the other hand, they claim that the earth is really (really, really, come one, please believe us) warming. They can't have it both ways. And all this hysteria over an alleged 1° C increase in a century. And I'm supposed to panic?
Every day I hear references to "climate crisis" on the news reports. Whether or not Goebbels said it or not is irrelevant, but "If you repeat a lie often enough, people will believe it." And that's what the global warming alarmists are hoping.

NYC to Ban Glass and Steel Skyscrapers to Fight Global Warming [Excerpts]
New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio has embraced Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s, D-N.Y., Green New Deal and said the city will ban “inefficient” steel and glass skyscrapers as a result.

He's following the pope's agenda. One wonders if "saving the planet" from climate change will play into the passage of the Sunday law. Since it will be a series of natural disasters that cause the demand for Sunday legislation, the secular world won't have a problem getting on board because they'll be blaming it on "climate crises (formerly "climate change," formerly "global warming). Reducing carbon emissions one day a week won't faze them a bit. Or, things could be so bad (almost seems that way from reading Great Controversy) that "climate change" may get lost sight of.

The 2020 presidential primary campaign has most of the Democrat candidates competing for who can impose the most requirements upon corporations to disclose the threats their assets, operations and profits face from climate change (formerly known as “global warming”).
Except the risks – at least with specificity – aren’t defined.
What is a “threat” from climate change? An extensive list of societal ills have been blamed on global warming, so many that it can be argued that everythingbad is caused by it. Of course, that’s the brilliant intention of the alarmists – create an all-encompassing source of destruction that cannot be averted without their prescriptions for massive government intervention, wealth redistribution, and the affliction of anyone who is comfortable.
While all corporations are in the environmental left’s crosshairs, the major targets are the fossil fuel companies. If they can get CEOs and executive boards to cave to their demands to “disclose” the “risks” posed by unwieldy and uncontrollable “climate change,” then they’ve got them in the palms of their hands.
Think about it – so much is said to be caused by changing temperatures (rising sea levels, hurricanes, floods, tornadoes, droughts, blizzards, polar vortexes, etc. – and those are just some of the meteorological ones) that no human effort could hope to disclose allof the potential threats. So if a corporation goes down the road of “disclosure,” they are bound to miss several that they omitted (in the eyes of the Greens), and open themselves to negligence lawsuits by left-wing activist shareholders and anyone else a favorable judge determines has “standing” to sue.

CNN Caught Lying About Climate Change (Again) [Excerpts]
What is the biggest lie on the left? These days, it’s hard to say. No crisis at the border? The world will end in 12 years? Virtually everything in their platform is so distant from the truth that it feels like another language.
A few years ago, the biggest lies on the left were that Barack Obama was a good president and that climate change was the most important issue facing humanity. Both lies still persist, but they seem to get overshadowed by the socialist agenda and virtually anything the new, young squad of Democrats say.
Well, CNN has had enough of us voters ignoring their agenda. They want to push the climate change agenda, and they’ll go to any lengths to do so. It’s why they were recently caught in an embarrassing lie.
They thought they were being crafty. All they did was post a picture and call it an example of climate change. Apparently, even something that simple is beyond CNN’s capacity to fact check. Now, they have to deal with the fallout. Perhaps a more complete telling is in order.
CNN really outdid themselves. The official Twitter account for the network published a photo of sled dogs. In the photo, the dogs can be seen trudging through standing water. According to CNN, this water is atop the Greenland ice shelf.
They tweeted the picture to show how far global warming has come and push the fear-mongering idea that the world really will end in 12 years.
Things turned embarrassing pretty quickly. You have probably never heard of Peter Heide Jorgensen. He’s a professor at the Greenland Natural Resources Institute. He’s not a climate change skeptic. He’s not a conservative or on the right. He’s just a researcher who noticed a stupid tweet and spoke up about it.
Before we get to that, we have to give credit where it is due. Jorgensen had no political motivation to voice his concerns. He did so entirely out of scientific integrity. He could have joined tons of climate scientists who are either complicit or active in the pushing of hyperbolic climate extremism. He did not. He saw something untrue and corrected solely for the sake of honesty and integrity.
So, what did he notice about CNN’s photo? Well, according to Jorgensen, ice melts during the summer are actually pretty common in Greenland. In fact, it’s been the norm since long before human-created CO2 became a concern. That’s pretty clear when you look at CNN’s photo next to another from 1984.
As you can see, ice has been melting in the region for more than 30 years. This is certainly not a sign of the impending climate apocalypse.
Meanwhile, actual science makes things even worse for the CNN narrative. You’ve probably heard about glacial ice in Greenland before. Climate scientists have been concerned about its rate of melt for 10 years or so.
Well, over the last year, something has happened that shocked researchers. The total ice in Greenland has grown. In fact, it has grown rapidly. NASA data suggests that the shrinking trend has completely reversed since 2016.
Al Gore told us that the glaciers would be gone around a decade ago. Revised climate science told us that melting was here to stay and that the days of arctic ice were numbered. While they were saying that, Antarctic ice grew steadily. Now northern ice is doing the same.

Naturally-Occurring Methane Shows Cow Farts Not to Blame for Global Warming [Excerpts]
Scientists have discovered massive amounts of methane located deep below the Earth’s surface—calling into question why policymakers are focusing on decreasing emissions of this gas when so much of it is naturally occurring.
According to an article from Newsweek, the methane is released through deep-sea vents. In 2016, scientists discovered over 500 vents spewing methane off the west coast of the United States.
Researchers from the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution (WHOI) then took samples from hydrothermal sites across the planet, including the Mid-Atlantic Ridge, the East Pacific Ridge, the Mid-Cayman Rise and the Guaymas Basin.
WHOI found almost all of them contained pockets of methane—and now they say the vents could be the largest source of abiotic (not formed with organic matter) methane in the world.
How large? The team said that the methane locked inside rocks might amount for more methane than was in the Earth’s atmosphere before the Industrial Revolution.

Even Michael Moore Thinks Renewable Energy is a Fraud [Excerpts]
Even ultra-liberal filmmaker Michael Moore seems to have learned that renewable energy is a fraud and a boondoggle.
His new documentary, “Planet of the Humans” questions its use.
According to The Washington Post, the documentary examines what the filmmakers say are some of the myths that have been perpetuated by the environmental movement. Directed by Jeff Gibbs, it explores electric cars, solar panels and environmentalist advocacy groups like the Sierra Club.
“It was kind of crushing to discover that the things I believed in weren’t real, first of all, and then to discover not only are the solar panels and wind turbines not going to save us … but that there is this whole dark side of the corporate money,” he said. “… t dawned on me that these technologies were just another profit center.”
This inconvenient truth is part of why Moore and Gibbs had to make the film independently. Environmental groups refused to come aboard, despite being approached for years, contributing to cynicism on Moore’s part.
Said the filmmaker: “We all want to feel good about something like the electric car, but in the back of your head somewhere you’ve thought, ‘Yeah but where is the electricity coming from?’ And it’s like, ‘I don’t want to think about that, I’m glad we have electric cars.’”

Glacier National Park Quietly Removes Its ‘Gone by 2020’ Signs [Excerpts]
Officials at Glacier National Park (GNP) have begun quietly removing and altering signs and government literature which told visitors that the Park’s glaciers were all expected to disappear by either 2020 or 2030.
In recent years the National Park Service prominently featured brochures, signs and films which boldly proclaimed that all glaciers at GNP were melting away rapidly. But now officials at GNP seem to be scrambling to hide or replace their previous hysterical claims while avoiding any notice to the public that the claims were inaccurate. Teams from Lysander Spooner University visiting the Park each September have noted that GNP’s most famous glaciers such as the Grinnell Glacier and the Jackson Glacier appear to have been growing—not shrinking—since about 2010. (The Jackson Glacier—easily seen from the Going-To-The-Sun Highway—may have grown as much as 25% or more over the past decade.)
A common trick used by the National Park Service at GNP is to display old black-and-white photos of glaciers from bygone years (say, “1922”) next to photos of the same glaciers taken in more recent years showing the glaciers much diminished (say, “2006”). Anyone familiar with glaciers in the northern Rockies knows that glaciers tend to grow for nine months each winter and melt for three months each summer. Thus, such photo displays without precise calendar dates may be highly deceptive.

Well, since they have covered all the bases by now calling it 'Climate Change', it does not matter. Ehrlich asserted new dire predictions in a 1970 article from the Redlands Daily Facts.
He said the “oceans will be as dead as Lake Erie” in less than 10 years.
He predicted “America will be subject to water rationing by 1974 and food rationing by 1980.”
The next year, S.I. Rasool, a NASA scientist and Columbia University professor, predicted an impending ice age if the world continued to burn fossil fuels for “five to 10” years.
By 1978, The New York Times had reported that there was “no end in sight to 30-year cooling trend.”
Ten years later, The Miami News reported that droughts would increase as the world temperature reached its hottest ever.

Greta Thunberg’s Trip Across the Atlantic Won’t Reduce Carbon Emissions [Excerpts]
Swedish teenage climate activist Greta Thunberg’s plan to cut down on carbon emissions backfired when she traveled by boat from the U.S. to Europe for a climate summit in Madrid.
Thunberg found herself stranded on the wrong side of the planet when the summit was moved from its original location in Chile to Spain.
She asked the public for help to find her a fuel-efficient method of transportation, and eventually accepted the offer of 26-year-old Nikki Henderson to make the trans-Atlantic voyage on a catamaran.
Henderson has claimed that it leaves little to no carbon-dioxide footprint when its sails are in use, instead counting on solar panels and hydro-generators for electricity. But simply getting the boat to Thunberg in time offset any reductions to her carbon footprint from air travel.
Henderson flew from Britain to the U.S. to meet Thunberg and fly her ship to Europe, producing the same amount of emissions Thunberg had hoped to save.
What’s more, Henderson’s vessel, named La Vagabonde, still produced waste. It has two diesel engines, according to the Daily Mail, and is made from petroleum products. La Vagabonde “weighs 17,400 pounds and is made of fiberglass, or fiber-reinforced plastic. It draws auxiliary power from twin Volvo diesel engines” and costs nearly $757,000, according to Craig Rucker, president of Committee For A Constructive Tomorrow, a free-market environmental organization.

Other than the Mueller Report, it’s hard to think of a bigger nothing-burger in 2019 than the “12 years to live” hysterics of the global warming cultists. Greta the mystical climate child – with the superpower ability to “see carbon in the atmosphere” due to her neurological disorders – traveled the globe in first-class style to lecture us about how we were letting her down. Some of us are old enough to remember that the weather apocalypse has been due to murder us all since the 1970s, when it was called “global cooling.” As a matter of fact, 2020 was supposed to be one of those years when we would all be dead because of bad weather stuff. Back in 2004, we were all going to die of global warming by 2020. That was according to the august body of experts at the Pentagon, at the tail end of George W. Bush’s first term in office. Oddly enough, the doom and gloom report came out during a presidential election season, but whatever. It’s not like global warming is a kooky political movement. It’s science!
The Pentagon commissioned a top-secret climate change assessment from a secretive think tank called the Office of Net Assessment (ONA). The ONA is made up of former CIA, NSA, State Department and Pentagon-type spooks and it does highly respected, secret national security risk assessments.
For some reason, someone commissioned the ONA to do a global warming risk assessment, to see how big of a threat global warming would be to America by 2020. In typical fashion, the top-secret report was immediately leaked to The Guardian newspaper in London.
According to the secret Pentagon-commissioned report, global warming in 2004 was so serious and was happening so fast – so very fast – that all of the following would come to pass before the year 2020:
Our allies in Britain would be plunged into a Siberian climate Multiple European cities would be completely under water and uninhabitable; this would happen as soon as 2005 “Mega-droughts,” famine and widespread rioting would erupt in every major city in the world The largest mass migration of refugees in history would be under way, as starving people try to find scraps of food to survive Mass cannibalism (of course) Multiple countries would suddenly develop nuclear weapons to protect their own people’s dwindling food and water supplies – and they would nuke massive groups of refugees to protect themselves
The report ended with the ominous statement, “Disruption and conflict will be endemic features of life. Once again, warfare would define human life.” Heavy stuff.
When British newspapers published the BOMBSHELL climate report findings, the former head of that nation’s Meteorological Office, Sir John Houghton, stated, “If the Pentagon is sending out that sort of message, then this is an important document indeed.”
Indeed!
Keep in mind, these awesome predictions were all supposed to happen before 2020, which – last time I checked – is right now. So, pardon the rest of us for not getting especially worried when Greta the mystical climate child and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez tell us that we have 12 years to live because of the same “problem.” This ain’t our first rodeo.
Just three years after the 9/11 attacks, the brightest minds from the Deep State were predicting that global warming was a bigger threat to national security than Islamic jihadis. The very smartest elites in the Deep State in 2004 were predicting that multiple cities around the world would be underwater in less than a year.
Most of the upper echelon in the Bush administration at the time, including Donald Rumsfeld, Dick Cheney and Bush himself, shrugged and ignored the secret report. And for that, they were accused of “suppressing” the information for political reasons. Bush was just trying to win reelection over John Kerry, which was more important to him than letting the world know that we’re all gonna die, man! The Pentagon had no choice but to leak the report to British newspapers… because we all know that the responsible American media would never have published the findings!

Speaking at the World Economic Forum, former Vice President Al Gore compared climate change to multiple famous battles and one famous terror attack, 9/11.
“The burden to act on the shoulders of the generation of the people alive today is a challenge to our moral imagination,” Gore said Wednesday in Davos, Switzerland, The Hill reported.
“This is Thermopylae. This is Agincourt. This is Dunkirk. This is the Battle of the Bulge,” he said, referencing the watershed moments in several historic European wars. “This is 9/11,” he added. “We have to rise to this occasion.”
Gore, a perpetual climate doomsdayer, said climate change is “way worse” and advancing “way faster” than the world’s population realizes, CNBC reported.
He praised teenage climate-change activist Greta Thunberg, who spoke at the forum.
Gore tweeted on Wednesday that he was “struck by her potent and sobering call to action.”
Trump responded to the “perennial prophets of doom” on Tuesday, reminding the public not to be fooled.
“They are the heirs of yesterday’s foolish fortune tellers,” he said. “We will never let radical socialists destroy our economy, wreck our country or eradicate our liberty.”
Thunberg openly called for “panic” in her speech, a tactic of extremists.
“Your inaction is fueling the flames by the hour,” she said. “We are still telling you to panic, and to act as if you loved your children above all else.”

Biden Willing To Cut Blue-Collar Jobs to Combat Climate Change
Democratic front-runner Joe Biden admitted that he’d be willing to cut blue-collar workers’ jobs to combat climate change.
Biden was asked in the primary debate this week if he’d “be willing to sacrifice [economic] growth, even knowing potential that it could displace thousands, maybe hundreds of thousands of blue-collar workers in the interest of transitioning to that greener economy.”
And like several of the other presidential candidates on Thursday’s stage, Biden said: “The answer is yes.”
Biden said that there would still be “opportunity for those workers to transition to high-paying jobs,” even though manufacturing and oil industry jobs would be reduced under his administration’s climate-change agenda.
“We shouldn’t build another new highway in America that doesn’t have charging stations on it,” he said. “We have an opportunity to put 550,000 charging stations so that we own the electrical vehicle market, creating millions of jobs for people installing them, as well making sure that we own electric vehicle market.”
And he insisted that he could still win over displaced blue-collar workers by explaining “to those people that their skills are going to be needed for the new opportunities.”
Biden’s answer resembled the one former Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton gave during one of her debates with President Donald Trump. She admitted that “we’re going to put a lot of coal miners and coal companies out of business,” but said it’s necessary to combat the greatest crisis facing the U.S.: climate change.
Some of the industries Biden wants to cut provide great-paying jobs to thousands of median workers. Oil and gas drillers paid their employees more than any other energy and utility sector in 2018, according to the Wall Street Journal, and they employ thousands of workers in important swing states the Democrats need to win in 2020.

BERNIE: Workers in Energy Sector Must Be Ready to ‘Change Jobs’
In a state that Hillary Clinton carried by only 136,386 votes four years ago, current Democratic presidential contender Bernie Sanders may have just tossed out 91,000.
Sanders told a local Denver station that those working in the fossil-fuels energy sector, including oil and natural gas, should be ready to transition if he is elected president.
He claimed, however, that their career changes would somehow be subsidized at taxpayer expense, without offering specific proposals as to how he would achieve this while also investing trillions in alternative energy and other expensive promises.
“Those workers are not my enemy,” Sanders claimed. “It’s not their fault that climate change is threatening the planet.”
He promised to spend billions more to provide them with five years of income, job retraining, education and health care.
“We’re not going to push them aside,” Sanders said. “We’re going to protect them.”
Sanders also struggled to provided strong defenses of other policies, including his Medicare for All proposal, which two prominent Colorado Democrats—Sen. Michael Bennet and former Gov. John Hickenlooper—have both come out against.
Both flirted with presidential runs themselves, and Hickenlooper is currently running to unseat Republican Sen. Cory Gardner.
“You’ve given me the names of two people who don’t support it,” Sanders said. “You haven’t told me about the polling that says that the overwhelming majority of Democrats do support it. … This is a system that cannot be defended.”
Many fear that Sanders’s uncompromising, hardline stance not only could cost Democrats a shot at the Oval Office, but also could weaken their hand in efforts to reclaim the Senate and defend their House majority.
But Sanders shrugged off questions about his electability and dodged concerns over whether his risky proposals put him outside the mainstream.
“Well, then you’re talking about obviously a very, very dangerous moment in American history,” Sanders said. “I believe that we are going to defeat President Trump and I believe there is an excellent chance that I will be the next President of the United States.”

Just for the record, "global warming" has just produced the worst April snowstorm I've ever seen in the 34 years I've been here. We got a foot of heavy, wet snow last night, and over 200,000 customers are without power. Trees are down across wires everywhere. Parked at the end of the driveway or I would have never gotten out. Had to negotiate an obstacle course on our road to get from my house to the main highway to go to work. Running off generator right now. Even at work we lost power twice today, for a total of about 3 hours. That town almost never loses power. Even during the infamous ice storm of '98, we never lost power, even while many folks lost it for 2 weeks.

Climate Activist Recants His Alarmism, Then is Victimized by Cancel Culture
(Michael Barnes, Liberty Headlines) After an opinion piece it published Sunday drew the wrath of militant eco-warriors, Forbes appeared to have doubled back on it only a day later, pulling from its online platform the shocking apology by reformed climate-alarmist Michael Shellenberger.
Shellenberger is a devout environmentalist and political progressive, and he’s blowing the whistle on the climate change movement starting with a simple message: Sorry.
“On behalf of environmentalists everywhere, I would like to formally apologize for the climate scare we created over the last 30 years,” he wrote in a Sunday Forbes op-ed.
As of Monday, however, only a faint trace of the original article was visible on the site.
A tersely-worded editor’s note opaquely explained to the unobservant: “This page is no longer active. We regret any inconvenience.”
However, a version of the original page was archived prior to its removal.
Now, the shocking admissions in the piece carry the weight of even more intrigue. A noted climate-change skeptic group, the Committee for a Constructive Tomorrow, asked the burning question: “Who pressured Forbes to kill the story and why did they cave?”
According to the original article, Shellenberger believes climate change is real but not nearly the problem his political and environmental colleagues have been threatening.
“Climate change is happening. It’s just not the end of the world. It’s not even our most serious environmental problem,” he said.
Climate skeptics—and those weary of political charlatans who use the issue to profit and amass power—may have long since arrived at the same conclusion. But for Shellenberger to undermine climate alarmism from within is a potential game-changer.
Few people on the environmental left can match his credentials.
Shellenberger has been a climate activist for two decades, and his roots in the modern environmental movement date back to the 1980s.
He was once named Time magazine’s “Hero of the Environment” and has written for the New York Times, Washington Post, Wall Street Journal, Scientific American, and other major publications.
He is a “Green Book” award winner, and his TED talks have been viewed over 5 million times. He founded the influential group Environmental Progress.
Shellenberger even ran for governor of California in 2018 but lost in the Democrat primary to the state’s progressive incumbent, Gov. Gavin Newsom.
If anyone had an incentive to capitalize on the climate change status quo, it’s Shellenberger. But he’s coming clean instead.
“I feel an obligation to apologize for how badly we environmentalists have misled the public,” he said.
“Some people will, when they read this imagine that I’m some right-wing anti-environmentalist. I’m not,” he added, noting that an honest rendering of facts obtained from even the most pro-climate change organizations like the United Nation’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change proves that climate-change alarmism—as presented by the mainstream media and left-leaning politicians—is fraudulent.
Shellenberger listed a dozen facts that debunk the global climate-change lobby’s most dire assertions.
All of the evidence he cites is pulled from leading pro-climate change scientific organizations, such as the IPCC, the U.N.’s Food and Agriculture Organization, and the International Union for the Conservation of Nature.
Humans are not causing a “sixth mass extinction,” he explained. The Amazon is not “the lungs of the world,” he continued.
He further noted: Climate change is not making natural disasters worse; fires have declined 25 percent around the world since 2003; the amount of land we use for meat—humankind’s biggest use of land—has declined by an area nearly as large as Alaska; air pollution and carbon emissions have been declining in rich nations for 50 years.
“I know that the above facts will sound like ‘climate denialism’ to many people. But that just shows the power of climate alarmism,” he said.
Why would someone of Shellenberger’s stature turn on everything he’d worked for, including the high-powered connections and lucrative opportunities that come with exploiting the issue?
By his own admission, Shellenberger helped persuade the Obama administration to spend $90 billion of taxpayer money on wasteful renewable energy initiatives, much of it going to progressive allies in California.
“Until last year, I mostly avoided speaking out against the climate scare. Partly that’s because I was embarrassed. After all, I am as guilty of alarmism as any other environmentalist. For years, I referred to climate change as an ‘existential’ threat to human civilization, and called it a ‘crisis,’” he said.
“But mostly I was scared. I remained quiet about the climate disinformation campaign because I was afraid of losing friends and funding,” he continued.
The first few times he defended scientific data that contradicted the politically engineered climate movement, Shellenberger said he was met with swift consequences.
Then, he stood by while the Obama White House and the news media destroyed honest scientists, some of whom were his friends.
“But then, last year, things spiraled out of control,” he said.“Alexandria Ocasio–Cortez said, ‘The world is going to end in 12 years if we don’t address climate change.’ Britain’s most high-profile environmental group claimed, ‘Climate Change Kills Children,’” he added.
Not only did the radically false statements signify the cravenness of the left-wing climate-change movement, but the claims were purposely meant to scare people into supporting socialist takeovers of sovereign economies. And none of it can be openly challenged without being labeled a climate denier.
In past articles, Shellengberger challenged Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., and the socialist Green New Deal, saying the plan “would raise energy prices, slow economic growth, and reduce wages.”
“Why did anyone ever imagine it to be ‘progressive’?” he wrote.
Other articles ask why climate change alarmists are so opposed to actually solving the climate change issued.
“Nuclear energy and natural gas have reduced carbon emissions far more than solar and wind,” he wrote. “Why, then, are the people so apocalyptic about climate change so opposed to them?”
An article from December explains why climate scaremongering is so harmful, especially for children, and points to perhaps the most ironic consequence of the entire climate fraud: that it hurts the environment.
Shellenberger closed his Sunday op-ed with a final mea culpa.
“If you’ve made it this far, I hope you’ll agree that it’s perhaps not as strange as it seems that a lifelong environmentalist, progressive, and climate activist felt the need to speak out against the alarmism.”

U.S. Led the World in 2019 CO2 Reductions [Excerpts]
The Trump Administration’s America First agenda has created an economic resurgence while also leading the world in CO2 emissions reductions, proving pulling out of the Paris Climate Accord was the right move.
Confirmed by independent international sources, the U.S. attained its 2019 CO2 emission reduction goals while other Climate Accord signatories saw horrific increases. The International Energy Agency (IEA) reported that “80 percent of the increase in CO2 emissions came from Asia and that China and India both contributed significantly” to worldwide escalations in this type of pollution.
Although it is unlikely the data will be a substantial part of the fake news cycle in the U.S., the IEA data demonstrates the effectiveness of American businesses, citizens, and government policies to curb CO2 emissions.
“The United States saw the largest decline in energy-related CO2 emissions in 2019 on a country basis — a fall of 140 Mt, or 2.9 percent, to 4.8 Gt,” the IEA recently reported. “US emissions are now down almost 1 Gt from their peak in the year 2000, the largest absolute decline by any country over that period. A 15 percent reduction in the use of coal for power generation underpinned the decline in overall US emissions in 2019.”
What is particularly remarkable about the U.S. hitting its goal in 2019 is that the country has enjoyed a resurgence in a wide range of industries, including manufacturing. Liberal zealots have been falsely accusing the administration of dangerously increasing carbon into the atmosphere by removing the Obama-era regulations that had suppressed many industries.
The Trump Administration has also rolled back some of the more extreme anti-business and anti-agriculture regulations in an effort to get people back to work and the economy back on track. Despite all the fake outrage, America leads.

Greta Thunberg, Pope Francis Attribute Pandemic to Climate Change
In these uncertain times of the COVID-19 pandemic, leaders are laser-focused on combating the contagion. But controversial figures like child climatologist Greta Thunberg and Pope Francis are using the crisis as a sounding board for their brand of climate politics. As unsettling as that may seem to an already anxious global community, the climate kid and Pope have fallen far short of delivering comfort.
“There is an expression in Spanish: ‘God always forgives, we forgive sometimes, but nature never forgives,’” Pope Francis reportedly said. “We did not respond to the partial catastrophes. Who now speaks of the fires in Australia, or remembers that a year and a half ago, a boat could cross the North Pole because the glaciers had all melted? Who speaks now of the floods? I don’t know if it is nature’s revenge, but it is certainly nature’s response.”
The Pope has been an outspoken climate change advocate who appears to not temper his views with competing scientific facts. Scientists recently discovered that a vast rainforest was once present under the Antarctic ice caps 90 million years. This fact flies in the face of so-called “climate science” that claims polar caps are melting from purely human activity.
Despite fact-based evidence that the Earth has gone through numerous climate incarnations, end-of-days cultists continue to profess human activity will bring about the world’s end. Just a few years ago, Pope Francis was espousing precisely those views.
“Fires, earthquakes … nature is throwing a tantrum so that we will take care of her,” Pope Francis reportedly said. “Now is the time to abandon our dependence on fossil fuels and move, quickly and decisively, towards forms of clean energy and a sustainable and circular economy.”
The Pope has gone as far as to say that the COVID-19 plague is nature exacting “revenge” on humanity for not following left-wing recommendations about climate change.
Swedish climate kid, Thunberg, echoed similar sentiments as the Pope. The teen activist has gone as far as to claim she contracted the virus to gain attention.
“I was feeling tired, had shivers, a sore throat, and coughed. My dad experienced the same symptoms, but much more intense and with a fever,” Thunberg reportedly posted on social media to her fans. “In Sweden, you cannot test yourself for COVID-19 unless you’re in need of emergency medical treatment. I have therefore not been tested for COVID-19, but it’s extremely likely that I’ve had it, given the combined symptoms and circumstances.”
Whether that claim is valid or not, it’s highly unlikely anyone will ever know. That’s because Greta has zero science to back up her claims. The entire charade echoes of irony, given climate data is rarely, if ever, is debated openly or honestly in scientific circles. Thunberg’s baseless claim, however, serves as a springboard to draw similarities to climate change narratives.
“But it also shows one thing: That once we are in a crisis, we can act to do something quickly, act fast,” Thunberg reportedly said. “Though it must be in a different way to how we have acted in this case, we can act fast and change our habits and treat a crisis like a crisis.”
In Washington, D.C., Democrats are hard at work trying to manipulate the health crisis to fund their climate change initiatives.
“If they want to bail out the airline industry, then the airline industry better damn well be ready to clean up its act in terms of carbon emissions offsets,” Rhode Island Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse reportedly said.
If everyday people held out any hope that left-wing zealots would set aside politics during these troubling times, that was a pipe dream.

Gore’s statement clarifies that the true purpose of the unrest sweeping through the nation is to enact a progressive economic, social and political agenda, not to protest the George Floyd‘s alleged murder.

Gore then raised the stakes with a panic-mongering hat-trick, saying that there is a common thread among climate change, COVID-19 and systemic racism.
“Today, African Americans are suffering from COVID-19 more than any other race, in part because their much higher exposure to air pollution increases the mortality rate from the virus,” he said.
He said in March that climate change science and coronavirus science are “exactly the same thing.”
Climate activist Greta Thunberg also said she supports the protests.
Thunberg has shown her sympathy for the far-left, radical anarchist organization Antifa.

Burger King Addresses Climate Change by Changing Cows’ Diets
Burger King is staging an intervention with its cows.
The chain has rebalanced the diet of some of the cows by adding lemon grass in a bid to limit bovines contributions to climate change. By tweaking their diet, Burger King said Tuesday that it believes it can reduce a cows’ daily methane emissions by about 33%.
Cows emit methane as a by-product of their digestion, and that has become a potential public relations hurdle for major burger chains.
Greenhouse gas emissions from the agriculture sector made up 9.9% of total U.S. greenhouse gas emissions in 2018, according to the Environmental Protection Agency. Of that amount, methane emissions from livestock (called enteric fermentation) comprised more than a quarter of the emissions from the agriculture sector.
With an over-the-top social media campaign that teeters between vulgarity and science (sprinkled with more vulgarity), Burger King is banking on the heightened awareness of climate change and its responsibility to limit its own role.
According to a recent poll by The Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research, about two out of three Americans say corporations have a responsibility to combat climate change. The gravitational pull of climate change is increasingly finding its way onto national political stage.
Potential customers are also cutting down on the amount of meat they consume, citing both environmental and dietary concerns. Burger King and rival McDonald’s have added meat alternatives to their menus.
Two years ago McDonald’s said it was taking steps to cut the greenhouse gases it emits. It tweaked the manner in which the beef in its Big Macs and Quarter Pounders was produced. The company said at the time that it expected the changes to prevent 150 million metric tons (165 million tons) of greenhouse gas emissions from being released into the atmosphere by 2030.
Burger King worked with scientists at the Autonomous University at the State of Mexico and at the University of California, Davis to test and develop its formula of adding 100 grams of lemongrass leaves to the cows’ daily diets. Preliminary tests indicate that the lemongrass leaves help the cows release less methane as they digest their food.
On Tuesday, Burger King introduced its Reduced Methane Emissions Beef Whopper, made with beef sourced from cows that emit reduced methane, in select restaurants in Miami, New York, Austin, Portland and Los Angeles, while supplies last.

Calif. Renewable Energy Blackouts a ‘Green’ Suicide Model for the Country [Excerpts]
California is the world’s fifth-largest economy — larger than India — and it can’t keep the lights on.
All it took for the spectacularly mismanaged state to fall victim to its own “green” energy policies was a summer heatwave. Thanks to a religious aversion to fossil fuels, hundreds of thousands of homes and millions of Californians lost power for two days last weekend as the ever-increasing shift to renewable energy failed to deliver electricity when state residents needed it most.
The California Independent System Operator (CAISO), which runs the electrical grid, has already warned of another electricity supply shortage.
The root cause isn’t climate change, as green energy proponents zealously contend. Rather, the state’s electrical grid has significantly transitioned away from oil and natural gas to solar and wind energy production to keep up with the Democrat-controlled state government’s goal of 60 percent renewable energy by 2030.
California is nowhere near that goal and the plan has already proved to be a disaster — not unlike the state’s $100 billion green bullet train to nowhere.
In a letter to the CAISO, which (Governor) Newsom controls, he insinuated that unpopular state utility companies were at fault for not providing sufficient warning, though he failed to mention that the utilities were in full compliance with state regulations.
It was actually the second time rolling blackouts occurred within the past year. In October, Pacific Gas and Electric cut power to hundreds of thousands of homes to avoid contributing to record forest fires. That crisis was fueled by unprecedented amounts of forest debris resulting from anti-logging and anti-development environmental policies — though it was blamed on climate change.
The shift to solar energy requires a decreasing involvement of natural gas, a cheap, reliable source of energy that’s naturally abundant in California.
The problem with solar energy is that it can’t compete with natural gas and fossil fuels on a unit-to-unit basis. Solar power also evaporates when it’s not sunny, which was the issue last weekend. The state’s electric grid teetered on supplying energy for air conditioning and other mundane purposes during the day, and the grid collapsed in the evening hours and night when it was no longer sunny outside.
Cloudy days and winter months when home heating demands will assuredly escalate are other challenges that solar energy policymakers have yet to resolve.
Wind energy has also proved a total failure. Wind has been virtually nonexistent during the summer heatwave which has further burdened the grid. The same weather pattern that’s caused elevated temperatures, a stable high-pressure bubble, involves little to no wind and the resulting effect is climbing temperatures.
The great irony is that California is awash in natural gas, which climate change activists embraced only a few years ago since it burns much cleaner than other cost-effective and reliable fossil fuels, like oil and coal.

There is indeed climate change taking place in California. Our springs go into June and our summers have been going into September and at times November as we saw when Paradise burned down. The issue is not so much that there are variations in climate as what causes a change. Democrats say it is carbon dioxide which they teach man has caused to increase by burning fossil fuels.
I have yet to hear that there is a supernatural power involved in climate change and the fires that are burning up California, Oregon, and Washington. And, the Coronavirus. And, yes, Satan works through those who are not fully surrendered to Christ. Like the fall of the Trade Towers, God is removing His hand of protection from the world. What we see today is just the beginning of the end. We will see more fires, more hurricanes, more tornadoes, more earthquakes, more murders, more calling good evil and evil good.
Facts are facts and science is science, but God is left out of the equation. And so is Satan who when God allows will destroy at will. Much of the world has been battling against God.

John Kerry, who was recently appointed U.S. Special Climate Envoy, and his family own a private jet, according to Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) records, even though much of his recent career has been spent harping on the evils of fossil fuels and their contribution to climate change.
The FAA’s registry shows a Gulfstream Aerospace jet is owned by Flying Squirrel LLC, which is Kerry’s wife’s private charter jet company.
The jet’s registration certificate was issued in 2005 and ends in 2023, according to the FAA records viewed by Fox News.
Kerry has used his wife’s charter jet company several times, according to the New York Post.
During his 2004 presidential run, Kerry’s campaign made 60 payments to Flying Squirrel LLC.
And as of 2013, Kerry owned “over $1,000,001” in assets for Flying Squirrel LLC, according to his executive branch personnel financial disclosure.
Yet Kerry has had no problem lecturing the rest of the country about the importance of curbing fossil fuel emissions.
Just last week, Kerry lamented the “wasted years” under the Trump administration to slow “climate change, and praised President Biden for working to cut coal, gas, and oil emissions.
“We know that the federal government of the United States, until yesterday, walked away from the table for four wasted years when we could’ve been helping to meet the challenge,” Kerry said.
Meanwhile, his family’s private jet burns roughly 40 times as much carbon per passenger as commercial flights.
Kerry has urged Biden to “restore domestic environmental leadership” by taking radical executive action to combat “global warming.”
Preventing the worst of global warming would require $1 trillion in annual investment globally through 2030, Kerry said, moving five times faster than currently to phase out coal, 22 times faster to electric vehicles, and six times faster to ramp up solar, wind and other renewable power.
All the alternatives cited by Kerry have their own environmental damage problems.

Kerry and company want to shut down fossil fuels. Maybe Kerry's fleet of jets are fueled by solar panels, or maybe the propellers are really windmills? No, they need both. When the sun goes down they need the windmills. And if the wind is not blowing, they need the solar panels. What happens if the wind is not blowing and they are flying at night? Science might have discovered solar panels that can generate electricity by moon light. No they are not solar panels, but lunar panels. I know they claim to follow science. But, true science is in harmony with God and they do not appear to be walking in the light which comes from above.
Of all the concerns about what is happening, we need to focus on the fact that for the most part they are opposed to God and His morality. At leas the party platform states much that offends God.

Have any of you seen the environmental documentary film "Planet of the Humans"? It shows how the whole climate change is a money making scheme by the rich and the environmental movements and is the cause of even greater pollution to the Earth. It is backed and promoted by Michael Moore, who served as the executive producer. The Liberals are throwing a fit about him turning on them and are trying to have the film banned.

I've been watching the temperature of the earth change slowly since the 70s myself. Some of this change is due to man and some of it is not! Unfortunately, this has gotten really political. Some said it didn't exist, and some over emphasized it.
It will be used to bring in things that we know in prophecy. It will be used as an agenda when actually the stuff going on may or may not be due to man's ways or not.
Either way, I'm surprised how people so easily become tricked by Satan's methods. People are killing Asian people in this country, blaming them for the pandemic. This is just crazy.
