Windows XP sp3 & updates

Ok my friends. If you decide to breakdown and finally install SP3 for Windows XP, you may find that any updates after will fail their install procedure. If that is the case and you can no longer get updates to install here is a solution that has worked for me now two times.

Click "run" then in the white box type this "regsvr32 c:\windows\system32\wups2.dll"

Then run updates again. It should work.

And before you upgrade, make sure you research the nasty bug encountered by those with AMD processors. It can make your computer unusable. When it happened to me, I was able to back out easily, but I hear others don't have it so easy. There's a great article on it, describing how to disable the offending program, but I can't give the link now.
