Maranatha, page 82, paragraph 4

Chapter Title: The Sowing and Reaping of Life

One wrong trait of character, one sinful desire cherished, will eventually neutralize all the power of the gospel.... The pains of
duty and the pleasures of sin are the cords with which Satan binds men in his snares. Those who would rather die than perform
a wrong act are the only ones who will be found faithful.

This is a strong message to all of us. We must pray for strength in time of temptation.

Friend John

Brother John,  I miss you!!  Here in Toronto!

Amen to your post.  God's grace is sufficient! The grace of Christ is powerful to the pulling down of strongholds!!

Richard

Jesus receives His reward when we reflect His character, the fruits of the Spirit......We deny Jesus His reward when we do not.

Dear Elder Thurber,

That timely quote sensitizes us to a more
meaningful appreciation of our personal responsibilities relative to the closeness of the soon coming of our Lord and Saviour.
This is in line with the GC theme "Almost Home".

Sincerely
Dugald

The simplicity of what we need to understand and do sometimes rises above our present course. It would be good to see that Satan does all in His power to keep us away from Jesus who is our strength, our only strength to overcome.
