Please Pray for George
« on: January 22, 2008, 04:07:00 PM »
This IS an urgent prayer request, but I didn't want it to get buried with the others.  Our dear friend and brother, George, was diagnosed with colon cancer over 4 years ago, and the Dr gave him six months to live. Through prayer, living healthfully, and natural remedies, he has been in reasonably good health until recently, but is having some bad symptoms again.  He is scheduled for another test the first of Feb.

Please pray for his healing if it be in our Lord's plan.  He is submitted to whatever is God's will in his life.

Eternal Father: Your servant, George, is facing a seemingly insurmountable health crisis, but You know this. He is Your child. If it be in Your will to heal this dear man, we ask for that healing only as it would bring honor and glory to Your Holy Name. During this trying time, Father, give him comfort as only You can. Draw him close to Your bosom, and forsake him not utterly. He bends to Your will in this affliction. Thy will be done. Grant him grace for endurance and acceptance of Your guidance through this and all things is my prayer in the Name of our Savior and Redeemer, Christ Jesus. Amen

Amen. And, if there be anything that Sister Dora can do to help this brother, I pray you will show her. We pray in Jesus precious name, amen.

Thank you all...George hasn't seen the board yet with your prayers, but it will be comforting to him.  He says, "I need all of your prayers."

Texts of encouragement for George.

Ruth 2:12  The LORD recompense thy work, and a full reward be given thee of the LORD God of Israel, under whose wings thou art come to trust.

Psalm 17:8  Keep me as the apple of the eye, hide me under the shadow of thy wings,

Psalm 36:7  How excellent is thy lovingkindness, O God! therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of thy wings.

Thank you all for your prayers for our brother and friend, George.  This morning he called with requests for prayers for his two adult sons, Mark and John and their families.  He was rather depressed because he has been sending them DVDs and books, trying to encourage them to go back to what they know of Jesus and the SDA church.  They do not seem interested at this time, and he feels his time is running out to encourage them.

I told him that even with the people in the Bible, quite often they never saw the fruit of their works, and that even if he falls asleep in Jesus, this could do more to wake up his boys than he can do while alive.  We may never know this side of heaven what our influence may have been.

So, he asked for your prayers, he doesn't like to try to write on here, (as he said, "I write in Polish",) and I know all of us will continue to pray for our brother and his family.

Well, Polish or not - he writes as plainly as most of us!  ;D

To invest close to $1K in materials for your children and your children will not crack a book, is a difficult blow. If this cancer claims George, we do hope it will rattle the boys enough to at least look into the box full of spiritual truth their dad so wanted them to have. This isn't over by a long shot. Time is short for all of us, for we know not when our numbered days are up. The Lord has a thousand ways to work of which we know nothing ... we will keep not only George, but his sons in our prayers.

I just think of the day that is coming when many prayers are answered very, very quickly. Decisions will have to be made in an emergency that were not made when there was ample time.

God bless a father's love for his children. It is a very strong earthly tie, but nothing like the heavenly Father's love for His own!

Heavenly Father, we ask you to comfort our Brother George as he looks to you. We ask you to send your Holy Spirit to draw his sons Mark and John and their families to the cross. Give George wisdom and grace to witness to his sons in the very best way possible, we pray in Jesus' precious name, amen.

One of George's sons called his dad saying he would look at the materials. That is an answer to prayer.

We continue to pray for George that his influence will be that which heaven can smile upon.

The Father in heaven knows the needs of His children. The Lord is ever attempting to draw us high unto Him. And this, He will do as we allow Him. We pray this situation will be approached with tenderest care, allowing the Holy Spirit to do His work on behalf of George's sons.

Dora - how is our friend, George? At last word, the doctors gave him only a few months?

O, if the Lord does not see fit to heal this man, my prayer is that George will be accepting of it, readying his character for eternity.  It is the prayer for all of us if we were given this same situation.

God bless George.

Mimi. that is so thoughtful of you to ask, but I honestly cannot tell you.  One day he seems better, another day not so well.  Of course, he has not taken any conventional treatment, and says he will have surgery only as a last resort.
He is doing some alternative "medicines," and thinks they have helped somewhat.

Yes, we all must be ready for eternity.  One way or another, I believe it is just over the horizon. I seem to feel a need to hurry, to give the message, for "the King is coming!"

Yes, I talked with him tonight.  He still has his problem, of course.  But, all the natural remedies plus very healthful eating has kept him in amazing condition.  O, you can tell by just looking at him that he is not in as good shape, and sometimes he has more problems than others, and it is hard for him to come to church.  But, he is still working harder than I can.  He spends a lot of time giving God's word to others, too.  George is George, (as you know) but he has mellowed quite a bit. Praise God.  Thanks for asking..I had not seen your post until just now.
