True freedom is found in complete surrender to God's law of freedom--love as revealed in Jesus' life who kept the Ten Commandments and will live out its holy principles in you as you come to Him in simple faith and permit Him to guide you in true conversion!

"The law requires righteousness,--a righteous life, a perfect character; and this man has not to give. He cannot meet the claims of God's holy law. But Christ, coming to the earth as man, lived a holy life, and developed a perfect character. These He offers as a free gift to all who will receive them. His life stands for the life of men. Thus they have remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God. More than this, Christ imbues men with the attributes of God. He builds up the human character after the similitude of the divine character, a goodly fabric of spiritual strength and beauty. Thus the very righteousness of the law is fulfilled in the believer in Christ. God can 'be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.' Romans 3:26." {The Desire of Ages, page 762, paragraph 2}

Let Jesus live out His character in you by beholding His loveliness, surrendering unreservedly to Him whose blood cleanses you from all sin as you confess and forsake sin and turn to Him who paid the price for your human soul to have TRUE FREEDOM in obedience to His law of love! Thus you may be constantly growing in His grace so all of the fruits of the Spirit are manifest in your life as you experience constant union and communion with Him by the Holy Spirit to the glory of the Father!
"When we live by faith on the Son of God, the fruits of the Spirit will be seen in our lives; not one will be missing." {The Desire of Ages, 676.4}

Amen Pastor Sean!  Again and again when we read this paragraph we understand how successful Satan has been working within God's church. Shortly after its formation the church began to backslide. The leadership of the church in 1888 rejected the gospel message. It was then rare to find one who was truly converted. It has not gotten better in the last hundred years. But, God is pouring out His Spirit upon His church today. It will soon see revival and reformation. This paragraph in today's reading is simple enough that a child may understand the truth. Yet, ordained ministers fight against this truth every day. We praise God for making the foundation of His truth so very plain. We pray that all who read this thread will be given an extra measure of the Holy Spirit that the deception might be unveiled. Let's take a close look at what is being said, in context.

  The law requires righteousness,--a righteous life, a perfect character; and this man has not to give. He cannot meet the claims of God's holy law. But Christ, coming to the earth as man, lived a holy life, and developed a perfect character. These He offers as a free gift to all who will receive them. His life stands for the life of men.

This is the predominate teaching within God's church today. This is what they teach happens in the investigative judgment. Christ is our advocate and His character stands in place of our character as long as we believe. It is the substitution of Christ that saves us if we accept Him and are  baptized and pay tithe.  What is wrong with this false doctrine? It is true that we cannot meet this standard, but not in the way we are being taught. What is true and what is not?

If we read the rest of the paragraph, it is explained, but how many times have you had an ordained pastor or elder share the whole truth? I have never heard it preached from the pulpit in the 35 years I have been in the church. Pastor Sean has shared it properly and I am sure he has preached it in his churches. And, I am sure somewhere in the world there are others who understand and are preaching it. When you hear it, or read it, please make a note and share it in this thread. We want to know who is teaching the truth.

What is the important truth that has been set aside? Let's read it again.

  The law requires righteousness,--a righteous life, a perfect character; and this man has not to give. He cannot meet the claims of God's holy law. But Christ, coming to the earth as man, lived a holy life, and developed a perfect character. These He offers as a free gift to all who will receive them. His life stands for the life of men.................(AND)

 Thus they have remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God.

In other words, we cannot atone for past sins, no matter how obedient we are and how righteous (holy) we are now. Thus, when we surrender the whole heart to Jesus, we are forgiven past confessed and forsaken sins. He is our substitute in this matter. If we stop here we then reveal we do not understand the great deception and play into the hands of the great deceiver. So, let us continue.

He builds up the human character after the similitude of the divine character, a goodly fabric of spiritual strength and beauty.

Is this "imputed righteousness"? No, it is "imparted righteousness." You are holy because God has imparted His righteousness (character) to you, and the fruit given to you is full, nothing is missing. Does this mean we cannot grow? No. The fruit while all is there, will become more abundant. As long as you remain fully surrendered to God, you will become more patient and more loving. It is important to understand that when abiding in Christ and He in you through the Holy Spirit, you reflect the character of God, a "human character after the similitude of the divine character."

Do we misunderstand? Let us continue in the statement.

Thus the very righteousness of the law is fulfilled in the believer in Christ.

This is the character that  man does not have until born again of the Spirit. Thus, past confessed and forsaken sins which we cannot atone for are forgiven and our character is transformed when the heart is wholly given to Christ. Then we meet the standard required in order to obtain eternal life. We must maintain our whole heart surrender in order to retain our justified standing before God. Let's continue our study by reading in context the paragraph.

God can "be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus." Romans 3:26.

Substitution is not good enough, we must be transformed in addition to obtaining the imputed righteousness of Christ, we must obtain the imparted righteousness also. It is His character standing in place of our "past" sins and His character imparted to us, giving us power to keep His law perfectly. In context now:

 By beholding His character he might be drawn back to God.
     Through Jesus, God's mercy was manifested to men; but mercy does not set aside justice. The law reveals the attributes of God's character, and not a jot or tittle of it could be changed to meet man in his fallen condition. God did not change His law, but He sacrificed Himself, in Christ, for man's redemption. "God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto Himself." 2 Corinthians 5:19.
Thus they have remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God. More than this, Christ imbues men with the attributes of God. He builds up the human character after the similitude of the divine character, a goodly fabric of spiritual strength and beauty. Thus the very righteousness of the law is fulfilled in the believer in Christ. God can "be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus." Romans 3:26.
     God's love has been expressed in His justice no less than in His mercy. Justice is the foundation of His throne, and the fruit of His love. It had been Satan's purpose to divorce mercy from truth and justice. He sought to prove that the righteousness of God's law is an enemy to peace. But Christ shows that in God's plan they are indissolubly joined together; the one cannot exist without the other. "Mercy and truth are met together; righteousness and peace have kissed each other." Psalm 85:10.
     By His life and His death, Christ proved that God's justice did not destroy His mercy, but that sin could be forgiven, and that the law is righteous, and can be perfectly obeyed. Satan's charges were refuted. God had given man unmistakable evidence of His love.

Not only can fallen man keep God's law perfectly, it is a requirement in order to enter heaven. It is not earned salvation, but grace that empowers man to keep the law. We cannot in and of ourselves keep the law. We are evil by nature and need to be born again and become partakers of God's divine nature in order to any good thing. I am not preaching to the choir, they are already teaching the truth as it is in Jesus. I am hopefully presenting here what we see throughout this website for the last 20 years, to those who are reading who have not understood. May God grant all spiritual eyesight to see the loveliness of Jesus that transforms sinners into saints.

And, yes, it is a great miracle! To think that the worst of humanity can become holy!!  That I, the chief of sinners can reflect the loveliness of Jesus! Miracle of all miracles!! Grace is more than a word, it is the power that transforms the life.

Jesus receives His reward when we reflect His character, the fruits of the Spirit......We deny Jesus His reward when we do not.

" God could have destroyed Satan and his sympathizers as easily as one can cast a pebble to the earth; but He did not do this. Rebellion was not to be overcome by force. Compelling power is found only under Satan's government. The Lord's principles are not of this order. His authority rests upon goodness, mercy, and love; and the presentation of these principles is the means to be used. God's government is moral, and truth and love are to be the prevailing power.

It was God's purpose to place things on an eternal basis of security, and in the councils of heaven it was decided that time must be given for Satan to develop the principles which were the foundation of his system of government. He had claimed that these were superior to God's principles. Time was given for the working of Satan's principles, that they might be seen by the heavenly universe.

Satan led men into sin, and the plan of redemption was put in operation. For four thousand years, Christ was working for man's uplifting, and Satan for his ruin and degradation. And the heavenly universe beheld it all."

I read this morning the parable of the lost sheep representing lost souls that Jesus is seeking to save.  What rejoicing is heard in heaven over each one that is found. God has given to us the privilege of being a partaker with Him in this mission. As we ask God to direct our paths today He will speak to us and tell us the way in which He wants us to work. We have a part to play in reaching out to souls that need to hear the gospel story of Jesus and His plan for their lives.
But this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press  toward the mark. Phil. 3:13,14

    The warfare against God's law, which was begun in heaven, will be continued until the end of time. Every man will be tested. Obedience or disobedience is the question to be decided by the whole world. All will be called to choose between the law of God and the laws of men. Here the dividing line will be drawn. There will be but two classes. Every character will be fully developed; and all will show whether they have chosen the side of loyalty or that of rebellion.

So the question to be decided to reach everlasting life and thus heaven and the new world, the choice comes down to who we allow to form our characters, Jesus, or Satan, to we follow God's law or the law of the world.  The stunning statement here is that whichever one we choose to allow to form our characters they will be fully formed at the 2nd advent. So now is the time to surrender fully to Christ or like the virgins we will not be ready when that day arrives. There is no middle road only surrender to Jesus or to Satan.

Today the door of God's mercy is still open and Jesus is calling to each one us to apart from the world and all it's sinful practices which will only result in Sorrow - Sadness & Eternal Death. Won't you please listen to God's Invitation? Our Salvation has been procured at Great Cost and Suffering. Life on this planet is very transient. We never know when our life may end and then our eternal destiny will have been determined by our choices. Jesus has done all that can be done to secure an opportunity for us to have Eternal Life!

Joshua 24:15  says...

Let nothing hinder you from doing God’s will!

“When Jesus came into the world, Satan’s power was turned against Him. From the time when He appeared as a babe in Bethlehem, the usurper worked to bring about His destruction. In every possible way he sought to prevent Jesus from developing a perfect childhood, a faultless manhood, a holy ministry, and an unblemished sacrifice. But he was defeated. He could not lead Jesus into sin. He could not discourage Him, or drive Him from a work He had come on earth to do. From the desert to Calvary, the storm of Satan’s wrath beat upon Him, but the more mercilessly it fell, the more firmly did the Son of God cling to the hand of His Father, and press on in the bloodstained path. All the efforts of Satan to oppress and overcome Him only brought out in a purer light His spotless character.” {The Desire of Ages, page 759, paragraph 4}

Jesus’ victory over Satan is for us! Walk in it!!
"When we live by faith on the Son of God, the fruits of the Spirit will be seen in our lives; not one will be missing." {The Desire of Ages, 676.4}

Will you join with me today at the foot of the cross?

We are in a spiritual war. I'm so thankful to be on the winning side. "It is finished" should bring music to our ears because it guarantee's us a place in God's kingdom if we are fully surrendered to Him and obedient to His every word.

`This paragraph struck me this morning, when doing Gods work of spreading his world to the end of the earth so Jesus can come in the clouds of glory. are we using these principles of goodness, mercy and love to those we work with through bible study, we are not to be confrontational and argumentative, we are to remain humble in spirit and mind, loving and kind to those we study with.

In this chapter we see the great deception unveiled. All who seek to know and follow God may rightly understand the power of grace to cleanse the sinner's heart from sin. Prayerfully read the following and see that when one sins, he supports Satan's charge that man cannot keep God's law.

Do you see contradictions here, or do you rightly understand what is written? Can we keep God's law....perfectly today? Right doing is righteousness. Can we keep the law? Can we be righteous? Can the heart be pure and holy?
Jesus receives His reward when we reflect His character, the fruits of the Spirit......We deny Jesus His reward when we do not.

How reassuring it is to know that when Jesus said..."IT IS FINISHED"  That His Victory is our guarantee, If we choose to follow and obey His instructions we will be saved through His Redeeming Grace expressed on the cross of Calvary.

Redeemed—how I love to proclaim it!
Redeemed by the blood of the Lamb;
Redeemed through His infinite mercy,
His child, and forever, I am.
    Redeemed, redeemed,
Redeemed by the blood of the Lamb;
Redeemed, redeemed,
  His child, and forever, I am.
2
Redeemed and so happy in Jesus,
No language my rapture can tell;
I know that the light of His presence
With me doth continually dwell.
3
I think of my blessed Redeemer,
I think of Him all the day long;
I sing, for I cannot be silent;
His love is the theme of my song.
4
I know I shall see in His beauty
The King in whose way I delight;
Who lovingly guardeth my footsteps,
And giveth me songs in the night.

Praise the Lord, Brother Beacon!

Happy Sabbath and Merry Christmas! What a blessed gift we have in Jesus!! We not only receive Him in true conversion as our Savior, but we receive His character whereby all of the fruits of the Spirit without one missing will be manifest in our lives and we are empowered to affectionately obey God from the new heart He gives us!

"The law requires righteousness,--a righteous life, a perfect character; and this man has not to give. He cannot meet the claims of God's holy law. But Christ, coming to the earth as man, lived a holy life, and developed a perfect character. These He offers as a free gift to all who will receive them. His life stands for the life of men. Praise the Lord that such a gift as Jesus empowers us to live new lives to the glory of God! We receive Him to give out His life in blessing to bless others with the light of present truth! Jesus is coming again so soon!

"That the law which was spoken by God's own voice is faulty, that some specification has been set aside, is the claim which Satan now puts forward. It is the last great deception that he will bring upon the world. He needs not to assail the whole law; if he can lead men to disregard one precept, his purpose is gained. For "whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all." James 2:10. By consenting to break one precept, men are brought under Satan's power. By substituting human law for God's law, Satan will seek to control the world. This work is foretold in prophecy. Of the great apostate power which is the representative of Satan, it is declared, "He shall speak great words against the Most High, and shall wear out the saints of the Most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand." Daniel 7:25.
Men will surely set up their laws to counterwork the laws of God. They will seek to compel the consciences of others, and in their zeal to enforce these laws they will oppress their fellow men. Then the end will come."

There are no words to describe fully what Jesus has gone through for us. To meditate on the love of God towards erring beings such as ourselves humbles the heart and fills it with such shame yet tremendous hope and gratitude.

Today much of the world is celebrating the birth of Christ with loads of gifts not for Jesus but for each other. When the gifts are all opened and stomachs filled there comes many times a great let down as they face disappointments in the gifts they got or didn't get and a credit card maxed out. The 'Christmas spirit' is gone until another year. If only they would genuinely open their hearts to receive the peace and joy that Jesus brings. He is the best and only gift that can fulfill our hearts desires.

Todays reading helps us see more clearly what was involved in that great gift. The battle still rages but our eternal salvation is secure as long as we walk humbly and faithfully in the footsteps of our precious Savior. May we each stay true to God through the unknown trials and tribulations that are still ahead. We can see the fog bank of hate against God's people rolling in over the horizon already. Look up! Our redemption draweth nigh. God will be with us through it all and the rescue will be glorious.
But this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press  toward the mark. Phil. 3:13,14

What a wonderful holiday to praise and talk about Jesus! Those that we hope will surrender all to Christ, if we see them today, we pray that the  Holy Spirit will touch their hearts with His love and care. Let us be faithful witnesses on  this special day.

Have we not experienced the grace of God and the power it gives to obey Jesus? Then let us thank Jesus for His patience with us. He will not finish this work until we are safe and secure. And, He is seeking for those who will faithfully reflect His character to a world soon to perish. Can we reflect His character today?

Christ imbues men with the attributes of God. He builds up the human character after the similitude of the divine character, a goodly fabric of spiritual strength and beauty. Thus the very righteousness of the law is fulfilled in the believer in Christ. God can 'be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.' Romans 3:26."

It is the Holy Spirit in possession of the heart that empowers repentant sinners to keep the commandments of God.

For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live. For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. Romans 8:13,14.

Have a blessed Christmas dear friends.
Jesus receives His reward when we reflect His character, the fruits of the Spirit......We deny Jesus His reward when we do not.
