Brazil confirms foot-and-mouth outbreak in cattle
Brazil's agriculture ministry confirmed an outbreak of foot-and-mouth disease in a cattle herd in the central-western state of Mato Grosso do Sul.
At least 582 cows were destroyed at Vezozzo Farm after some 140 cows in the property were diagnosed with the highly contagious illness, the ministry said.
Authorities inspected other farms in a 25-kilometer (15-mile) radius around the Vezozzo Farm and are trying to determine the source of the disease...
