Check for symptoms of metal toxicity:
Symptoms will vary depending on the metal/material but in general these are some of the associated symptoms. Word of caution, do not take just one or two symptoms and self-diagnose metal toxicity, it depends on the type of metal and would usually be multiple of these symptoms. It also would take a large amount of some chemicals others may give symptoms almost immediately depending on the amount ingested or present in soft tissues.
In some cases, symptoms include headaches, vomiting, abdominal pain, lack of appetite (anorexia), constipation, slurred speech (dysarthria), changes in kidney function, unusually high amounts of protein in the blood (hyperproteinemia), and unusually pale skin (pallor) resulting from a low level of iron in the red blood cells. A urine or hair follicle sample can be tested by a health professional to determine levels of metal toxicity.
