The Power of Grace to Make Saints
« on: October 22, 2023, 01:55:31 PM »
In the days of the prophet we are told that it was rare to find one who had truly experienced the new birth (conversion).  So it is today. It is changing, God is pouring out His Spirit on all who want to know truth that they may walk in it. The world hates Jesus, and so it hates all who love Jesus with all of the heart. When sharing the truth as it is in Jesus, we can expect to be persecuted. When in countries that hate Christians, the penalty for spreading the gospel is often death. What is the evidence of true conversion?  Loving those who despitefully use us. The following testimony reveals the power of grace to transform fallen flesh into saints. We do not share a lot from other ministries in an effort to not spread error. We make an exception in presenting the following testimony.

Jesus receives His reward when we reflect His character, the fruits of the Spirit......We deny Jesus His reward when we do not.

Amen. What an inspiring testimony.
But this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press  toward the mark. Phil. 3:13,14

Hi Richard, I would be interested to know what original quotes you had in mind.  A couple that I am aware of are below.  Was it one of these, or something else?

(1)

The minds of many are clouded with unbelief because those who unite with the church as the chosen of God do not reveal the virtues that are the fruits of the Spirit. Joining the church is not a sure evidence that a man has joined himself to Christ. The new birth is a rare experience in this age of the world. This is the reason why there are so many perplexities in the churches. Many, so many, who assume the name of Christ are unsanctified and unholy. They have been baptized, but they were buried alive. Self did not die, and therefore they did not rise to newness of life in Christ.  {12MR 51.1}

(2)

There are few really consecrated men among us, few who have fought and conquered in the battle with self. Real conversion is a decided change of feelings and motives; it is a virtual taking leave of worldly connections, a hastening from their spiritual atmosphere, a withdrawing from the controlling power of their thoughts, opinions, and influences. The separation causes pain and bitterness to both parties. It is the variance which Christ declares that He came to bring. But the converted will feel a continual longing desire that their friends shall forsake all for Christ, knowing that, unless they do, there will be a final and eternal separation. The true Christian cannot, while with unbelieving friends, be light and trifling. The value of the souls for whom Christ died is too great.  {5T 82.5}
