“True Love” an original poem by Pastor Sean Brizendine, composed 10:40am to 10:47am Central Time on Wednesday, August 31, 2022
True love heals and reveals a restored, new heart
Taking fear, shame and guilt out from the start
When we love as Christ loved us
His mission is fully accomplished
New impulses, desires and motives
Fresh from the new heart will spring
True forgiveness offers us each a part
In the symphony of unselfish love
When grace takes the helm of the will
We gladly learn to yield and be still
Casting down all our cares we see
That Christ already took our burdens to Calvary
Sin is the root cause of adversity
But in selfless love Christ bore our calamity
In death He won the victory
For “it is finished” we can sing
Rising after His Sabbath rest
Jesus came from the tomb forever blessed
Offering us His death to self and resurrection to new life
We can abide in the only One who has power to make us thrive
Ascended to heaven’s sanctuary
Christ is our High Priest, soon coming King
The song of Moses and the Lamb we now sing
For over all the allurements to sin we have victory
With the seal of God upon the life
We truly rejoice to be the Lamb’s wife
Ascending soon to our heavenly home
We will finally belong—and fully know as we are known
