There Shall be Famines
« on: April 21, 2022, 12:51:59 AM »
For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places."

What can cause famines? When 30% of the world's wheat is produced by Russia and Ukraine, what do we expect is going to happen when they are not able to export it to a hungry world? What happens when the United States and Europe attempt to put a halt to using oil and natural gas? What happens when there is no natural gas needed to make fertilizer? It is used to make both ammonia and urea, key components in nitrogen-based fertilizers. What happens when the wind does not blow and the sun does not shine, and it does not rain? There is a shortage of electricity to run the electric vehicles that deliver food to hungry people if we do not have gas for gas powered vehicles.

The U.N. says Russia is the world's No. 1 exporter of nitrogen fertilizer and No. 2 in phosphorus and potassium fertilizers. Its ally Belarus, also contending with Western sanctions, is another major fertilizer producer. Many developing countries — including Mongolia, Honduras, Cameroon, Ghana, Senegal, Mexico and Guatemala — rely on Russia for at least a fifth of their imports. source

Yes, there are still some countries that produce oil and gas. Communist Venezuela, China, and Putin's Russia. Russia has been sanctioned. She used to export, wheat, oil, gas, and fertilizer to a hungry world. But, not now. There are rapid changes taking place in the world today. The Covid Pandemic has not ended, the world's economy is in shambles with inflation increasing daily, drought in California where huge cutbacks in water deliveries to farmers that export food not only to America, but to the world, energy shortage needed for agriculture has created a crisis in Europe and America, and now we have a major producer of oil, gas, wheat, and fertilizer has attacked its neighbor country in a war that sees no end.

“We have no choice but to take food from the hungry to feed the starving,” David Beasley, the executive director of the World Food Program, said in a statement. “The Russian attack on Ukraine was an attack on food insecure people everywhere in the world,” said Barrett, the agricultural economist. In the worst-case scenario, he said, “we are going to see tens of millions of people suddenly facing famine.”

We were told that the last steps would be rapid ones. Thus, we introduce this topic that sleeping virgins might awake to see time is short. Those who have moved out of the cities into the country and have learned to grow food will live as kings and queens when famine creates great distress world-wide. "The time has come when, as God opens the way, families should move out of the cities. The children should be taken into the country. The parents should get as suitable a place as their means will allow. Though the dwelling may be small, yet there should be land in connection with it that may be cultivated. Fathers and mothers who possess a piece of land and a comfortable home are kings and queens."  Counsels for the Church, pg 148.

Russia, the world’s biggest exporter of fertilizers, imposed a two-month ban on ammonium nitrate exports. The move threatens to reduce fertilizer supplies, especially to South America, which is at a critical point in its growing season. Brazil is by far the top importer of ammonium nitrate from Russia. Brazil’s large second corn crop, or safrinha, will be planted in the next few weeks, following the country’s soybean harvest, and will require nitrogen fertilizer in many fields after the corn has emerged. Brazil is the world’s No. 2 corn exporter in most years. The outlook for South America’s big corn and soybean crops has deteriorated, as a second consecutive year of drought in Argentina and southern Brazil, brought on by La Niña, drags down yields and production forecasts.

Praise God for His love and care for us. He tells us ahead of time what will happen that we will not be surprised and can prepare for the days ahead, both spiritually and physically.
Jesus receives His reward when we reflect His character, the fruits of the Spirit......We deny Jesus His reward when we do not.
