A pro-LGBTQ group sent 100 copies of a children’s book that celebrates homosexuality to the school that Karen Pence, the wife of Vice President Mike Pence, teaches at.
The book, “A Day in the Life of Marlon Bundo,” tells the story of two boy bunnies who fall in love with each other.
The Trevor Project sent the books and “a heartfelt note that encourages the school’s leaders to accept LGBTQ young people,” The Huffington Post reported.
Comedian John Oliver, who hosts “Last Week Tonight with John Oliver” on HBO, and Jill Twiss published “A Day in the Life of Marlon Bundo” in 2018 as a response to “Marlon Bundo’s Day in the Life of the Vice President.”
Charlotte, Mike and Karen Pence’s daughter, wrote “Marlon Bundo’s Day in the Life of the Vice President,” a fictional children’s book about the Pence family’s pet rabbit, Marlon Bundo.
Pence previously taught at Immanuel Christian School for 12 years, and this semester she decided to return to teach art.
Radical leftists have since begun an assault on Pence and the school for its adherence to Biblical values, such as sexual purity.
Luke Hartman, a former student at Immanuel Christian and an openly homosexual man, said he is “a living example that intolerance, both in policy and rhetoric, are harmful to the mental wellness and development of LGBTQ students, who are desperately looking for ways to fit in.”
Immanuel Christian promotes a “personal life of moral purity” and prohibits “homosexual or lesbian sexual activity” among its staff and students. The school reserves said it the right to refuse to admit students and staff who engage in or support sexuality outside of that between husband and wife.
Teachers at the school have to sign a statement that affirms “the importance of a family culture based on biblical principles and…biblical family values such as a healthy marriage between one man and one woman.”
