Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia, the leader of the Court's conservatives was found dead at a Texas ranch Sabbath morning. The Constitution of the United States has been riddled by the Court with the appointments of Obama and others. Justice Scalia was its defender even though a Roman Catholic.
The question arises as to who will appoint his replacement. If Obama does, it will create a court that will further erode the protections Americans are afforded by the Constitution. It has been many years since a justice has been voted into office in an election year. Considering the political circumstances, there is little chance this year will be different. The candidates for President in the Republican Party at their debate last night were an indication that many in the party will not support a liberal nomination by Obama.
