Amen dear Sister Dorine. Here we find the character of our God clearly revealed.

     He taught all to look upon themselves as endowed with precious talents, which if rightly employed would secure for them eternal riches. He weeded all vanity from life, and by His own example taught that every moment of time is fraught with eternal results; that it is to be cherished as a treasure, and to be employed for holy purposes. He passed by no human being as worthless, but sought to apply the saving remedy to every soul. In whatever company He found Himself, He presented a lesson that was appropriate to the time and the circumstances. He sought to inspire with hope the most rough and unpromising, setting before them the assurance that they might become blameless and harmless, attaining such a character as would make them manifest as the children of God. Often He met those who had drifted under Satan's control, and who had no power to break from his snare. To such a one, discouraged, sick, tempted, and fallen, Jesus would speak words of tenderest pity, words that were needed and could be understood. Others He met who were fighting a hand-to-hand battle with the adversary of souls. These He encouraged to persevere, assuring them that they would win; for angels of God were on their side, and would give them the victory. Those whom He thus helped were convinced that here was One in whom they could trust with perfect confidence. He would not betray the secrets they poured into His sympathizing ear.

What a God we serve!! Lord help me today to reflect this great love you have for fallen humanity.
Jesus receives His reward when we reflect His character, the fruits of the Spirit......We deny Jesus His reward when we do not.

Amen, Sister Dorine and Brother Richard!! What a wonderful Savior we have in Jesus, who offers us His character in place of our own, and His true happiness in the way that He found it! Happy Sabbath!!

"From the time when the parents of Jesus found Him in the temple, His course of action was a mystery to them. He would not enter into controversy, yet His example was a constant lesson. He seemed as one who was set apart. His hours of happiness were found when alone with nature and with God. Whenever it was His privilege, He turned aside from the scene of His labor, to go into the fields, to meditate in the green valleys, to hold communion with God on the mountainside or amid the trees of the forest. The early morning often found Him in some secluded place, meditating, searching the Scriptures, or in prayer. From these quiet hours He would return to His home to take up His duties again, and to give an example of patient toil." {The Desire of Ages, page 86, paragraph 6}

May we go to Jesus in the quiet of nature and when alone to find that sweet communion with God at all times and in all places, that the light of His character--all of the fruits of the Spirit without one missing--may bless all God brings across our life path!
"When we live by faith on the Son of God, the fruits of the Spirit will be seen in our lives; not one will be missing." {The Desire of Ages, 676.4}

"In His purity and His faithfulness, He trod the wine press alone, and of the people there was none with Him. He carried the awful weight of responsibility for the salvation of men. He knew that unless there was a decided change in the principles and purposes of the human race, all would be lost.

"With intense purpose, He carried out the design of His life that He Himself should be the light of men..Jesus had come to teach the meaning of the worship of God, and He could not sanction the mingling of human requirements with the divine precepts.

He did not attack the precepts or practices of the learned teachers; but when reproved for His own simple habits, He presented the word of God in justification of His conduct."

Oh that we might be made willing and enabled to follow in the footsteps of Jesus...The following verse is an example.

Matthew 5:43-48 says.
"Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy. But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust."

"Jesus was the healer of the body as well as of the soul. He was interested in every phase of suffering that came under His notice, and to every sufferer He brought relief, His kind words having a soothing balm. None could say that He had worked a miracle; but virtue--the healing power of love--went out from Him to the sick and distressed. Thus in an unobtrusive way He worked for the people from His very childhood. And this was why, after His public ministry began, so many heard Him gladly."

Jesus is teaching us to bring the same kind of love to all we come in contact with. Especially those who are under heavy burdens. He is our example. I love to dwell upon the daily activities of Jesus. Even as a youth He would deprive Himself of food or rest to help someone in more need than Himself. He changes hearts of cold indifference into a compelling desire to follow His example.  May we be faithful in revealing His love to others today and every day.
But this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press  toward the mark. Phil. 3:13,14

Amen, Sister Dorine and Brother Beacon!!

Jesus sees your real value, even when you may not see it. In Him we may have a life that measures with the life of God--a life that may be a blessing to others as we become partakers of the divine nature that Christ manifested by faith in the word of God!

"He taught all to look upon themselves as endowed with precious talents, which if rightly employed would secure for them eternal riches. He weeded all vanity from life, and by His own example taught that every moment of time is fraught with eternal results; that it is to be cherished as a treasure, and to be employed for holy purposes. Those whom He thus helped were convinced that here was One in whom they could trust with perfect confidence. He would not betray the secrets they poured into His sympathizing ear."

Let us be gracious and like Jesus in our interactions with others. How? By yielding the whole heart to Him to purify from sin, by inviting the Holy Spirit to come and live in us, and then He will manifest through us all of the fruits of the Spirit without one missing in a consistent way in all our life experiences!
"When we live by faith on the Son of God, the fruits of the Spirit will be seen in our lives; not one will be missing." {The Desire of Ages, 676.4}

Amen! What a blessing to read what you all are being blessed by! I was impressed with the subject matter we all ought to consider of great importance. It is what many neglect, but what God says is important.

   Jesus was misunderstood by His brothers because He was not like them. His standard was not their standard. In looking to men they had turned away from God, and they had not His power in their lives. The forms of religion which they observed could not transform the character. They paid "tithe of mint and anise and cummin," but omitted "the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith." Matthew 23:23. The example of Jesus was to them a continual irritation. He hated but one thing in the world, and that was sin. He could not witness a wrong act without pain which it was impossible to disguise. Between the formalists, whose sanctity of appearance concealed the love of sin, and a character in which zeal for God's glory was always paramount, the contrast was unmistakable. Because the life of Jesus condemned evil, He was opposed, both at home and abroad. His unselfishness and integrity were commented on with a sneer. His forbearance and kindness were termed cowardice.

What does it mean "law, judgment, mercy, and faith"?  Do we overlook these and concentrate on matters of less importance?

Just think what a Grand and Sacred thing it is to know that Jesus invites us to be His Ambassadors. To share with others the story of our redemption and give hope to those who feel like they are living an "empty meaningless life"

Matthew 28:18-20 King James Version "And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen"

Amen, Brother Beacon!

What a blessing it is to realize how Jesus walked on this earth, and how His life may become our life experience by grace through faith, yielding the whole heart to Him and allowing Him to reflect through us all of the attributes of the divine nature, so not one of those precious fruits of His Spirit will be lacking from our lives!

"Yet through childhood, youth, and manhood, Jesus walked alone. In His purity and His faithfulness, He trod the wine press alone, and of the people there was none with Him. He carried the awful weight of responsibility for the salvation of men. He knew that unless there was a decided change in the principles and purposes of the human race, all would be lost. This was the burden of His soul, and none could appreciate the weight that rested upon Him. Filled with intense purpose, He carried out the design of His life that He Himself should be the light of men." {The Desire of Ages, page 92, paragraph 2}

God calls us to let our light shine. Today, as you keep your eyes fixed by faith on Jesus, look away from self to the bright beams of His righteousness! May this promise be your experience today: "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven" (Matthew 5:16).

"When we live by faith on the Son of God, the fruits of the Spirit will be seen in our lives; not one will be missing." {The Desire of Ages, 676.4}

Amen Pastor Sean!  That we might be like Jesus!

Amen Brother Beacon! I too was impressed with the fact that what we do with our time is so very important!

He weeded all vanity from life, and by His own example taught that every moment of time is fraught with eternal results; that it is to be cherished as a treasure, and to be employed for holy purposes.

My heart is touched this morning as I read these words. He treated all with dignity, compassion, encouragement and love; just as we are to do. When I think of the times that I have been cold or uncaring towards those I thought were hopeless, shame fills my heart. Praise God for His forgiveness and new opportunities to correct our selfish ways. May we live in the presence of Jesus today bringing hope and salvation to all that cross our path.   This statement spoke loudly to me. "He weeded all vanity from life, and by His own example taught that every moment of time is fraught with eternal results; that it is to be cherished as a treasure, and to be employed for holy purposes."

Amen Sister Dorine!    We are accountable for our time. God's ways are best. There may be things we are doing that would be better to substitute the work of God. We are told that we need to take a break from our every day work. But, that "vacation" is a little different from the vacations of the worldly. We see in our readings that Jesus took His disciples apart for a "vacation."    How different from what we see in the world. There were no games.  Many cannot bear to hear this, but some will consider what you have shared, that "every moment of time is fraught with eternal results; that it is to be cherished as a treasure, and to be employed for holy purposes."

How is it possible for us to make these changes? It is by beholding the life of Christ. When we see what He gave up for us, we will be encouraged to be faithful witnesses for Him.

   Yet through childhood, youth, and manhood, Jesus walked alone. In His purity and His faithfulness, He trod the wine press alone, and of the people there was none with Him. He carried the awful weight of responsibility for the salvation of men. He knew that unless there was a decided change in the principles and purposes of the human race, all would be lost. Amen, Sister Dorine and Brother Richard!

What a blessing it is to contemplate the life of Christ and let His character become ours by surrendering to Him fully and appropriating His words to become what we think upon, act upon, and share with the world who needs to see a living revelation of His loveliness of character!

Mary also had to learn to trust Jesus' divine character and let Him act for Himself in the formation of His character as the Holy Spirit was leading Him. Here is a lesson for parents in that if a child learns more truth from the Bible, it would be well for the whole family to apply it and live it out in humble, surrendered trust.

"At times she wavered between Jesus and His brothers, who did not believe that He was the Sent of God; but evidence was abundant that His was a divine character. She saw Him sacrificing Himself for the good of others. His presence brought a purer atmosphere into the home, and His life was as leaven working amid the elements of society. Harmless and undefiled, He walked among the thoughtless, the rude, the uncourteous; amid the unjust publicans, the reckless prodigals, the unrighteous Samaritans, the heathen soldiers, the rough peasants, and the mixed multitude. He spoke a word of sympathy here and a word there, as He saw men weary, yet compelled to bear heavy burdens. He shared their burdens, and repeated to them the lessons He had learned from nature, of the love, the kindness, the goodness of God." {The Desire of Ages, page 90, paragraph 3}

As we learn of Christ, we also unlearn the distrust, worry and fear so common in our world today. Our lives may be living witnesses of all of the fruits of the Spirit without one missing like Jesus' life was, as long as He has full possession of the heart and we walk in the path that He has for us day by day!
"When we live by faith on the Son of God, the fruits of the Spirit will be seen in our lives; not one will be missing." {The Desire of Ages, 676.4}

"His brothers felt that His influence went far to counteract theirs. He possessed a tact which none of them had, or desired to have. When they spoke harshly to poor, degraded beings, Jesus sought out these very ones, and spoke to them words of encouragement. To those who were in need He would give a cup of cold water, and would quietly place His own meal in their hands. As He relieved their sufferings, the truths He taught were associated with His acts of mercy, and were thus riveted in the memory."

He walked the talk in all things. Can the same be said of us? While on earth Jesus brought the warmth of God's love and grace into all His interactions with others. By faith many believed on Him and He brought peace to their hearts. May we go forth today with these truths burning within us to seek those who are hurting and lost.

We often think of the pain Jesus experienced just before and during his crucifixion. He suffered for us through every phase of His life to fulfill the plan of salvation and redemption for us. He does not require anything of us He did not experience Himself here on earth. He loved us so He wanted none to be lost. Should we not be willing to care out His design for our lives. What love He has for mankind his creation.

If we claim to be followers of Jesus should we not be looking for opportunities to be doing the same type of compassionate outreach? When Jesus comes the 2nd time what will He say to us...

Matthew 25:

34 Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:

35 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in:

36 Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.

37 Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink?

38 When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee?

39 Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee?

40 And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.

41 Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:

42 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink:

43 I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not.

44 Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee?

45 Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me.

46 And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.

What an example Jesus has left for us! As Brother Philip has pointed out, not just in the cross, but all through His life. How sad that He trod the wine press alone!! The last paragraph sums up the chapter and the character of our Savior. Such love!!!

Amen, Remnant family!! What a joy to see the unity the Holy Spirit is bringing as we behold the loveliness of Jesus!!

If we feel alone in walking the path of truth, may we look upon Jesus and know that He understands better than we can imagine the trials of our hearts and lives when we sincerely desire to do His will and choose to follow where He leads in purity and self-denial. As we yield fully to Christ, we come to fellowship with Him in His sufferings by partaking of the divine nature, and then all of the fruits of the Spirit will be seen in our lives without one missing, gladly going in the path of character He has directed for us to bring other souls to Him, too!

As the light of Jesus' character shines upon us and we allow it to shine out to others, they also may be filled with the intense purpose to hasten Christ's return by giving the pure gospel truth that Christ has power to transform sinners into saints and keep us from falling by His grace! Nothing is too hard for the Lord, so we can remember the path Jesus trod and be encouraged for the path He has for our lives, too!
"When we live by faith on the Son of God, the fruits of the Spirit will be seen in our lives; not one will be missing." {The Desire of Ages, 676.4}
