Amen, dear Sister. It is the Holy Spirit that opens our minds to the truth as we read that we might know God and His will that we may serve Him. Not knowing this makes it harder. As Brother Beacon has shared, false teaching is a serious problem that makes it hard to understand the truth. "These false principles, when once accepted, worked like leaven in the meal, permeating and transforming the character. It was this deceptive teaching that made it so hard for the people to receive the words of Christ."
Yet, we allow false teaching to continue unabated in the church. Paul stated a warning. "But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed." Galatians 1:8,9.
The gospel is not hard to understand unless one does not want to know it, or they have been deceived by false teachers. Those seeking truth will study the subject when faced with contradictory teaching if they are in a converted state. In a Laodicean church, this does not happen very often. So those teaching the gospel truth are often disrupting the peace of the unconverted.
Enmity against Satan is not natural to the human heart; it is implanted by the grace of God. When one who has been controlled by a stubborn, wayward will is set free, and yields himself wholeheartedly to the drawing of God's heavenly agencies, a miracle is wrought; so also when a man who has been under strong delusion comes to understand moral truth. Every time a soul is converted, and learns to love God and keep His commandments, the promise of God is fulfilled, "A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you." Ezekiel 36:26.
Here we read of an important truth that many do not understand. The Holy Spirit speaks to the unconverted. He is the One who reveals grace to the sinner, otherwise none would be saved, transformed in character. But, to those who accept the grace into their hearts, the Holy Spirit does not remain outside the heart. He comes into the heart and takes possession of it as long as He is wanted. The new heart comes with the Holy Spirit that Jesus says "I will put within you." This is literal, not a figure of speech.
As long as the Holy Spirit is within, we will manifest all of the fruits of the Spirit, not one will be missing. Such a miracle!!
