Coming back to this theme, I am impressed by what EGW states in AA, page 22 and page 23:
"By this, Christ did not mean that the disciples would make more exalted exertions than He had made, but that their work would have great magnitude."
"He rejoiced in the consciousness that He could and would do more for His followers than He had promised, that from Him would flow forth love and compassion, cleansing the soul temple, and making men like Him in character; that His truth, armed with the power of the Spirit, would go forth conquering and to conquer."
When we compare ourselves to the one who never sinned, even though tempted in all respect as us, that we that have sinned, could be raised up in His character and to conquer the world.
Some of us have reached down to rock bottom in sin, yet Christ is able to raise us up as if we had never sinned and cause us to do great things with Him at our side. That is what greater works means to Christ, that He can mold men and women into a fashion of mind and character that reflects Him in all ways, and transforms them into Children of God and send them forth out into the world from which they came and show the conquering power of the Spirit in their lives, that they now can be a light for those in darkness.
That they now can say, I was of the world and my mind was directed toward sin, but now though I may be of the world, but the world is not in me, so therefore I know these pitfalls well, let me lead you out with the same power and truth that I have received.
God longs for everyone to be saved, but many will not, but there are souls, just for the taking that could still be His. It is our awesome responsibility to reach those dying souls in the world and take them out of world so that they too will reap the joys of eternal life.
God has given us many gifts and great power that flows from Him to complete this work, go you therefore, preach, teach and feed the world.
