New Church
« on: January 10, 2013, 01:38:54 PM »
I have been in dialog with the conference president here in a nearby  neighboring state about a campaign to start  up a new church there. Our enthusiasm  has been rubbing off on each other. He sounds very humble and accessible. This is often not the case. There is an existing church here across the state line where I live but it has been a wasteland. There are almost 100,000 people in the city of various ethic backgrounds. Currently we are looking at renting a facility yet the president said he is willing to put substantial funds into this and has wanted to try to raise up a church here for some time but there was not anyone who was interested down here until now. When I explained that do to my canvassing and home schooling and do to my wife working full time we would be limited in terms of how much time we could put into a new project. The president said he would plan to bring someone in to work with.

Two possibilities for a  church have been found, one a small former day care center, the other a small Baptist church that has sat vacant for a year. The area is in desperate need of a working SDA church in a conference that is reasonable.  Your prayers are solicited.

This is wonderful news, colporteur! Yes, we will pray the Lord's blessing on this!

This is exciting. I will be watching for updates and will be praying for the Lord's blessing.

As we type, there is a new company that needs our prayers as well as the conference that is making decisions as the company's future.  Your prayers are solicited that God will be glorified in this company and the conference decisions.

Heavenly Father, you know the situation intimately. You know the hearts involved, you know the needs. We ask that your Spirit move upon all involved and that your will be done that you might be glorified in the decisions being made. We know that you allow trials that we may turn to you with the whole heart. We ask that good will come out of this trial. We pray in the precious name of Jesus, amen.
