"No Doubt We're In The Last Days" News

The comments following were written by an Orthodox Jewish Rabbi:

There is no better term than propaganda blitzkrieg to describe what has been unleashed against Christian conservatives recently.

Consider the long list of anti-Christian books that have been published in recent months.  Here are just a few samples of more than 30 similar titles, all from mainstream publishers:

"American Fascists: The Christian Right and the War on America"

"The Baptizing of America: The Religious Right's Plans for the Rest of Us"

"The End of Faith: Religion, Terror, and the Future of Reason"

"Piety & Politics: The Right-wing Assault on Religious Freedom"

"Atheist Universe: The Thinking Person's Answer to Christian Fundamentalism"

"Thy Kingdom Come: How the Religious Right Distorts the Faith and Threatens America"

"Religion Gone Bad: The Hidden Dangers of the Christian Right"

What is truly alarming is that there are more of these books for sale at your local large book store warning against the perils of fervent Christianity than those warning against the perils of fervent Islam.  Does anyone seriously think America is more seriously jeopardized by Christian conservatives than by Islamic zealots?  I fear that many Americans believe just that in the same way that many pre-World War II Westerners considered Churchill a bigger threat than Hitler.

Considerably more intellectual energy is being pumped into the propaganda campaign against Christianity than was ever delivered to the anti-smoking or anti-drunk-driving campaigns.  Fervent zealots of secularism are flinging themselves into this anti-Christian war with enormous fanaticism.

If they succeed, Christianity will be driven underground, and its benign influence on the character of America will be lost.  In its place we shall see a sinister secularism that menaces Bible believers of all faiths.  Once the voice of the Bible has been silenced, the war on Western Civilization can begin and we shall see a long night of barbarism descend on the West.

Without a vibrant and vital Christianity, America is doomed, and without America, the West is doomed.

Abortion is a blessing and abortionists are doing holy work, says Anglican priest [Excerpts]

The new Dean of the Episcopal Divinity School in Cambridge, Massacusetts, has given a sermon describing abortions as a "blessing" for the women who undergo them. The Rev Katherine Hancock Ragsdale also thinks that the people who run abortion clinics are "heroes" and even "saints".

Ms Ragsdale, speaking in Birmingham, Alabama, said that "when a woman becomes pregnant within a loving, supportive, respectful relationship; has every option open to her; decides she does not wish to bear a child; and has access to a safe, affordable abortion - there is not a tragedy in sight - only blessing."

Do not, please, make the mistake of assuming that she is an unrepresentative extremist: liberal Anglicans in America are among the most fervent supporters of abortion in the world, outstripping even atheists in their enthusiasm for this gruesome procedure.

[Dean Ragsdale finished her sermon with the following exhortation]: These are the two things I want you, please, to remember - abortion is a blessing and our work is not done. Let me hear you say it: abortion is a blessing and our work is not done. Abortion is a blessing and our work is not done. Abortion is a blessing and our work is not done.

I want to thank all of you who protect this blessing - who do this work every day: the health care providers, doctors, nurses, technicians, receptionists, who put your lives on the line to care for others (you are heroes -- in my eyes, you are saints); the escorts and the activists; the lobbyists and the clinic defenders; all of you. You're engaged in holy work.

Brits Turning to Paganism

Brits believe in UFOs, aliens, ghosts more than God [Excerpts]

London, Nov 24 : Tales of UFOs, aliens and ghosts are believed more than God, according to a new survey.

The study, to mark the DVD release of X Files: I Want to Believe, has found that while 54 per cent of [Brits] are convinced the Almighty exists, 58 per cent believe in the supernatural, reports the Telegraph.

They found women were more likely to believe in the supernatural than men, and were more likely to visit a medium.

Nearly a quarter of the 3,000 surveyed by market researchers claimed they had had a paranormal encounter.

Some 37 per cent said aliens and ghosts were the basis of their belief system.

[By seeking to destroy belief in Christianity, skeptics have only opened the doors for belief in almost anything. They have unwittingly created a pagan and superstitious generation.]

Ragsdale is an ardent feminist and a lesbian. From Wikipedia:

She is an American progressive, and was a priest at St. David's Episcopal Church in Pepperell,[3] part of the Episcopal Diocese of Massachusetts. Ragsdale has served for 17 years on the national board of the Religious Coalition for Reproductive Choice. She is also on the board of NARAL Pro-Choice America, The White House Project, the Progressive Religious Partnership, as well as the bi-national advisory board of the Center for the Prevention of Sexual and Domestic Violence. She presented to the United States Senate Committee on the Judiciary on behalf of NARAL Pro-Choice America and the Religious Coalition for Reproductive Choice in 2004.[4]

She was named president and dean of Episcopal Divinity School on July 1, 2009.[5][6] Her appointment was criticized by some religious conservatives, who have been particularly critical of her endorsement of the "blessing" of abortion.[7][6]

She is the editor of Boundary Wars: Intimacy and Distance in Healing Relationships[8] and the author of numerous articles, including The Role of Religious Institutions in Responding to the Domestic Violence Crisis[9] and Hannah, a short story.

She is openly lesbian.[6] On January 1, 2011, she married Rev. Mally Lloyd at the Cathedral Church of St. Paul in Boston. Bishop M. Thomas Shaw performed the ceremony.[10]
O Lord, I know that the way of man is not in himself: it is not in man that walketh to direct his steps. O Lord, correct me, but with judgment; not in thine anger, lest thou bring me to nothing. Jeremiah  10:23-24

If he understood the Great Controversy between Christ and Satan, and believed the SOP's treatment of that subject, he'd be hard pressed to think that Islam was the greater threat.  Certainly true Christianity is not a threat, but that is a rare commodity today.  I do agree with his last statement.  Ellen White said that national apostasy would be followed by national ruin.  But again, a "vital & vibrant Christianity" from our perspective would not look the same as from the perspective on the religious right.
So likewise ye, when ye shall have done all those things which are commanded you, say, We are unprofitable servants:  we have done that which was our duty to do.  Luke 17:10
