"Jay Gallimore, MA, President of the Michigan Conference" was a signatory on the Appeal. Their own conference president. Nothing impresses them. They are fearless.

I wonder how the group pushing the "third option" feel about the faculty being so opposed to their understanding of the Bible.

Good point.

  Ingo Sorke teaches theology at Southwestern Seventh-day Adventist University. I post this testimony for two reasons. First, it reveals what we must do if want to escape the deceptions so prevalent in the church today regarding the gospel and salvation. Secondly, coming from a Western European background, this man had to overcome the traditions of the church and his society in Germany. After Bible study and prayer, he understood his culture was not in accord with Scripture. It would be well for each of us to take heed to the example we see. We must trust in the wisdom of God which we find in Scripture, not in tradition and culture.

Jesus receives His reward when we reflect His character, the fruits of the Spirit......We deny Jesus His reward when we do not.

Wally shared this video in another topic, but it needs to be in this topic also since it reveals much truth about the subject. All who believe they are following the Bible when making women rulers of men have been deceived. They are following the wrong spirit.

The very notion of giving women ecclesiastical authority over men is the heresy of Peputianism!

There was a time in the history of the so-called Roman Catholic Church where even the Papacy itself was under the rule of two licentious women, named Theodora and Marozia! It occurred in the 10th century AD in Rome itself. Liutprand, the Bishop of Cremona, bore witness in his Antapodosis, against these two women usurpers of ecclesiastical authority over men. See: http://clc-library-org.tripod.com/crises1.html#ChapterVII.

There are those however, mostly so-called Roman Catholics, and accomodating Protestants who give the so-called Roman Catholic Church too much of the benefit of the doubt, who will indignantly DENY the truthfulness of Liutprand’s accusations against Sergius III and Marozia.

But Johann Lorenz Mosheim, in his Institutes of Ecclesiastical History, states that:

Quote
At that time, the noted Theodora, with her two daughters Marozia and Theodora, resided at Rome. They were wholly devoted to what was called the Tuscan party, of which the marquis Adalbert (not Alleric, as in the text of Mosheim) was the head. These women not only lived in habits of the most abominable unchastity with the chief men of Rome, but they had boundless influence in the government there. Luitprand is in this matter the principal historian. Eccard and Muratori have indeed questioned his authority, and endeavoured to make his testimony suspicious. But Siegebert of Gemblours, and Alberic the author of the chronicle of Ferfe, (who could not have transcribed from Luitprand), confirm his account of the profligate lives of these base females.

The so-called Roman Catholic Church KNOWS that it is anti-Scriptural and contrary to the Law of Nature and Nature's God to ordain women to the priesthood, or as clerics in Holy Orders, or to grant them any part or parcel of ecclesiastical jurisdiction! They have ALWAYS known that whatever woman DARES behave the way Theodora and Marozia did is guilty of breaking the Apostolic precepts which teach the subjection of woman to man in ecclesiastical and liturgical matters, and that women are justly liable to the same penalties for activities far less scandalous and opprobrious than this!!! And they KNOW that to ADMIT that any of these accusations are true would be a GRAVE reproach to their "church!" That is why they are so bent on DENYING the truth of these accusations!!! But on Google Books, there is a book entitled, England and Rome, by the Rev. James Scudamore, written in 1855, which gives evidence to REFUTE arguments the Papists use to DENY the veracity of Liutprand's accusations against these two women! Anyone who is interested should go on Google Books and search for England and Rome Marozia Scudamore, or use the following link: https://books.google.com/books?id=eAlMAAAAYAAJ&pg=PA468&dq=England+and+Rome+Marozia+Scudamore&hl=en&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwiL2IHd_vXVAhWBSCYKHRZZC1gQ6AEIKDAA#v=onepage&q=England%20and%20Rome%20Marozia%20Scudamore&f=false.

I admit that the women's ordinationists in our denomination have not yet gone even half as far as Theodora and Marozia in their shameless and notorious intrigues, but there is always the possibility that it may eventually be heading in that direction. (Some of them have already used the successes gained in women's ordination as a platform to promote homosexuality.) We must watch and pray, and resist the beginnings of evil - Obsta principiis. Avoid the first steps to evil, and you have therefore avoided the last steps.

It is interesting that one can usually tell very soon where a person stands on the WO issue before they even get into the subject. Mike Lambert begins by very methodically building up the authority and infallibility of the Bible. Culturists who push WO do not do that. These people continually take aspects of the WO subject into arenas that do not apply, fit, or make sense. Then they place those who oppose WO in a false light and misrepresent their position. I am absolutely convinced that they will soon do that very same thing regarding the Sabbath / Sunday issue.
It's easier to slow a fast horse down than to get a dead one going.

Wives and mothers should in no case neglect their husbands and their children; but they can do much without neglecting home duties, and all have not these responsibilities. { DG 17.3}
Who can have so deep a love for the souls of men and women for whom Christ died as those who are partakers of His grace? Who can better represent the religion of Christ than Christian women, women who are earnestly laboring to bring souls to the light of truth? Who else is so well adapted to the work of the Sabbath school? The true mother is the true teacher of children. If with a heart imbued with the love of Christ, she teaches the children of her class, praying with them and for them, she may see souls converted, and gathered into the fold of Christ. I do not recommend that woman should seek to become a voter or officeholder; but as a missionary, teaching the truth by epistolary correspondence, distributing reading matter, conversing with families and praying with the mother and children, she may do much, and be a blessing. { DG 18.1}
The Lord of the vineyard is saying to many women who are now doing nothing, “Why stand ye here all the day idle?” They may be instruments of righteousness, rendering holy service. It was Mary who first preached a risen Jesus; and the refining, softening influence of Christian women is needed in the great work of preaching the truth now. If there were twenty women where now there is one who would make the saving of souls their cherished work, we should see many more converted to the truth. Zealous and continued diligence in the cause of God would be wholly successful, and would astonish them with its results. The work must be accomplished through patience and perseverance, and in this is manifested the real devotion to God. He calls for deeds, and not words only. { DG 18.2}
