My Sister, Rusty
« on: October 08, 2011, 07:41:17 PM »
My elder sister (in Christ), Rusty, is 85 and in need of a new knee. There is none quite like her and we love her beyond measure. She colporteured in Michigan, California and extensively in the southwest where she partnered with Elder Bonney for close to 20 years. It is no wonder she needs a new knee. Actually, this will be her 2nd new knee, the left one was replaced a few years before we met. Please keep this precious soul in your prayers as she undergoes surgery on Monday @ noon. She is an asset to her friends, God's church body and to the cause of Christ.

They are pretty good at doing such operations. But, it is still painful and there is certainly danger, especially for those who are getting up in age. We will pray for Sister Rusty. The Lord needs her and many more like her!

Heavenly Father, we thank you for Sister Rusty and the work that she has been doing for your church. We pray that you will be with her and the medical staff that will be doing the procedure tomorrow. Give them wisdom and skill to be successful. Comfort Sister Rusty and use her as your witness to all that she comes in contact with, we pray in the precious name of Jesus, amen.
Jesus receives His reward when we reflect His character, the fruits of the Spirit......We deny Jesus His reward when we do not.

She was late getting into the OR, so about the time I thought she would be finished and in recovery, she still had 2 hours to go, so daughter and I left. Will go see her tomorrow. She will be in rehab for about three weeks.

I talked with Rusty on the phone (will see her tomorrow). She is pain-free at the moment with no drugs, yet they told her tomorrow will be a different matter altogether when they move her to rehab and work her over. She will be there through Thursday (not three weeks! YAY) and will be home on Friday. She is doing so well and has an incredible attitude. She knows Who loves her and protects her every moment of every day.

God bless Rusty and "Thank you, Christ Jesus, for yet another answered prayer."

I just saw her. She looks and feels great and thanks you for your prayers. I will spend some time with her on Sabbath at her home.
