Just read through next week's lesson. If you have not understood where the author is coming from in regards to the gospel of grace, I can understand. He seems to say that we need to obey the law of God. But, he is not clear on this at all. He is not stating the gospel message clearly. It is good when one makes his position clear so that all may understand what he believes. Next  week he does this. From next week's lesson: "Godly living is not optional for those who call themselves children of God. Many well-meaning individuals stress the need for us to attain "perfection" if we desire to enter the kingdom. Unfortunately, not only do those who embrace this doctrine promote self-sufficiency as a key to salvation, but they ignore the reality of sinful human nature. Humans have to live with inherited tendencies toward sin and are constantly bombarded with temptation. Even more troubling is the discouragement that can come to those who are constantly looking to themselves and how well they are doing as a barometer of their salvation. Compared to the holiness of God and His law, who among us can ever measure up? How, then, can we be careful that while seeking to live godly, faithful lives, we do not get caught up in any theology that puts the hope of our salvation in anything other than the righteousness of Christ covering us?"

He has made his teaching clear. You cannot keep the commandments of God. You don't need to because Christ kept them for you.  His righteousness will cover your unconfessed sins. What happens when Jesus walks out of the heavenly sanctuary and then you sin? There  is no intercessor to forgive sins. What happens to the sinner then. Either he keeps the law of God or he is eternally lost. This is Biblical and this is Seventh-day Adventist doctrine.

What is coming off  our presses and being preached in many of our churches is another gospel. Of the more than a thousand reading this lesson today, most are doing so because they cherish the truth. It is incumbent upon you to share the truth as it is in Jesus in your Sabbath Schools. Be loving and kind, but be firm in presenting the truth about Romans 7 and 8.  Some will benefit from hearing you present the truth. God's grace creates a new creature in Chris Jesus who is then a partaker of His divine nature. He manifests the fruits of His Spirit, not one is missing. This is the Christian experience as long as he abides in Christ.
Jesus receives His reward when we reflect His character, the fruits of the Spirit......We deny Jesus His reward when we do not.
