Title: Windows Tips
Post by: JimB on July 29, 2012, 04:53:49 PM
I don't know how often I'll contribute to this but from time to time when I think I've discovered something handy that maybe the average windows user might not be aware of I'll post here. However, don't be shy if you think you've got some info that will making using a computer easier please feel free to share with us.

Screen Capture
From time to time there is a need to grab a screen shot of what is displaying on your computer's screen. If you have Vista or Windows 7 there is a handy utility built right into Windows. You can find it a couple of ways...

1) Choose Start, All Programs, Accessories, Snipping Tool
2) Start typing the word "snipping" and it should show up and you can click on it.

For those who are still running XP at home there are free programs available here. (https://www.techsupportalert.com/best-free-screen-capture-utility.htm)

One last thing if you have the need to make a video of what you're doing on your computer screen there is free software for that called "Cam Studio" and you can find that at http://camstudio.org/
