The Desire of Ages / Re: The Desire of Ages--26--At Capernaum
« Last post by Richard Myers on March 19, 2024, 05:40:30 AM »
Amen my dear Brother Beacon. Our only hope is to trust Him who gave all that we might live. There is hope for our children who have gone astray. Even the captives of Satan who have lost all control can be drawn back into the fold if they want to turn way from sin.

     The means by which we can overcome the wicked one is that by which Christ overcame,--the power of the word. God does not control our minds without our consent; but if we desire to know and to do His will, His promises are ours: "Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." "If any man willeth to do His will, he shall know of the teaching." John 8:32; 7:17, R. V. Through faith in these promises, every man may be delivered from the snares of error and the control of sin.
     Every man is free to choose what power he will have to rule over him. None have fallen so low, none are so vile, but that they can find deliverance in Christ. The demoniac, in place of prayer, could utter only the words of Satan; yet the heart's unspoken appeal was heard. No cry from a soul in need, though it fail of utterance in words, will be unheeded. Those who will consent to enter into covenant relation with the God of heaven are not left to the power of Satan or to the infirmity of their own nature. They are invited by the Saviour, "Let him take hold of My strength, that he may make peace with Me; and he shall make peace with Me." Isaiah 27:5. The spirits of darkness will battle for the soul once under their dominion, but angels of God will contend for that soul with prevailing power. The Lord says, "Shall the prey be taken from the mighty, or the lawful captive delivered? . . . Thus saith the Lord, Even the captives of the mighty shall be taken away, and the prey of the terrible shall be delivered: for I will contend with him that contendeth with thee, and I will save thy children." Isaiah 49:24, 25.

SciTech Daily COVID-19, Virology,
By SOCIETY FOR RISK ANALYSIS MARCH 18, 2024

A study published in the peer-reviewed academic journal Risk Analysis suggests a higher probability of COVID-19 originating from a laboratory rather than naturally.

The modified Grunow-Finke assessment tool (mGFT) is a methodology designed to evaluate the likelihood of whether an epidemic originated from natural or unnatural (e.g., laboratory) sources. This tool is an adaptation of the original Grunow-Finke assessment tool, developed to assess the risk and origin of infectious disease outbreaks more systematically.

The mGFT operates by analyzing specific criteria and evidence related to the outbreak in question. These criteria may include the geographical distribution of the disease, the presence of the pathogen in laboratories, the natural reservoir of the virus, the timing of the outbreak relative to other events, and any unusual patterns in the disease’s spread or manifestation.

The origin of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) is contentious. Most studies have focused on a zoonotic origin, but definitive evidence such as an intermediary animal host is lacking.

The mGFT scores 11 criteria to provide a likelihood of natural or unnatural origin. Using published literature and publicly available sources of information, we applied the mGFT to the origin of SARS-CoV-2. The mGFT scored 41/60 points (68%), with high inter-rater reliability (100%), indicating a greater likelihood of an unnatural than natural origin of SARS-CoV-2. This risk assessment cannot prove the origin of SARS-CoV-2 but shows that the possibility of a laboratory origin cannot be easily dismissed.

Amen my dear friends!  God wants to not only use us to His glory, but He wants to give us love, joy, and peace in this world.

   In the apostles of our Lord there was nothing to bring glory to themselves. It was evident that the success of their labors was due only to God. The lives of these men, the characters they developed, and the mighty work that God wrought through them, are a testimony to what He will do for all who are teachable and obedient.

Isn't that an amazing promise!! " I will save thy children." It's a promise that I claim everyday for my two daughters who are currently no longer members of God's Remnant Church.

========================
1
Trust Him when thy wants are many;
  Trust Him when thy friends are few;
And the time of swift temptation
  Is the time to trust Him too.
2
Trust Him when thy soul is burdened
  With the sense of all its sin;
He will speak the word of pardon,
  He will make thee clean within.
3
Trust Him for the grace sufficient,
  Ever equal to thy need;
Trust Him always for the answer,
  When in His dear name you plead.
4
Trust Him for the grace to conquer,
  He is able to subdue;
Trust Him for the power for service;
  Trust Him for the blessing too.
5
Trust Him when dark doubts assail thee,
  Trust Him when thy strength is small,
Trust Him when to simply trust Him
  Seems the hardest thing of all.
6
Trust Him; He is ever faithful;
  Trust Him, for His will is best;
Trust Him, for the heart of Jesus
  Is the only place of rest.
7
Trust Him, then, through cloud or sunshine,
  All thy cares upon Him cast,
Till the storm of life is over,
  And the trusting days are past.

Amen, Brother Beacon and Sister Dorine!

God will provide! We can trust Him to provide for our needs as we keep His service supreme. The only way to do that is to be moved by His love in light of the truth of His word, fully surrendered in heart and life to Christ, and trusting that the Holy Spirit will continue to manifest through us all of the fruits of the Spirit without one missing--even in the most trying circumstances we face as we keep our minds stayed on Him. God's economy is not taking into consideration merely the things of sense and time, but the great things of eternity. He provides for the universe to be free from sin based on the evidence of giving His Son for us and having a people transformed in life and character that abide in Him no matter what. Even the things we do not understand now will be made plain the hereafter. So let us walk in the path He leads and do it with a song in our heart!

"Before asking them to leave their nets and fishing boats, Jesus had given them the assurance that God would supply their needs. The use of Peter's boat for the work of the gospel had been richly repaid. He who is 'rich unto all that call upon Him,' has said, 'Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over.' Romans 10:12; Luke 6:38. In this measure He had rewarded the disciple's service. And every sacrifice that is made in His ministry will be recompensed according to 'the exceeding riches of His grace.' Ephesians 3:20; 2:7." {The Desire of Ages, page 249, paragraph 1}

There is a rest of soul that comes into the heart that is fully yielded to Jesus. We can keep our eyes on Jesus and remember He provides in the way that is best, just like He did for His first disciples.

May we never be just Lord, Lord Christians. A transformed life must accompany our profession. The mighty work Jesus did through the disciples and apostles He will do for us as we open our hearts to Him and allow Him to work in our lives according to His will. This should make our faces shine with heavenly love and happiness.

"God takes men as they are, and educates them for His service, if they will yield themselves to Him."

"The Spirit of God, received into the soul, will quicken all its faculties."

"Under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, the mind that is devoted unreservedly to God develops harmoniously, and is strengthened to comprehend and fulfill the requirements of God."

"The weak, vacillating character becomes changed to one of strength and steadfastness."

"Continual devotion establishes so close a relation between Jesus and His disciple that the Christian becomes like Him in mind and character."

"Through a connection with Christ he will have clearer and broader views. His discernment will be more penetrative, his judgment better balanced. He who longs to be of service to Christ is so quickened by the life-giving power of the Son of Righteousness that he is enabled to bear much fruit to the glory of God."

My Goal is the become more like Jesus everyday. How about "YOU? "
============================1
Day by day, and with each passing moment,
Strength I find to meet my trials here;
Trusting in my Father’s wise bestowment,
I’ve no cause for worry or for fear.
He, whose heart is kind beyond all measure,
Gives unto each day what He deems best,
Lovingly its part of pain and pleasure,
Mingling toil with peace and rest.
2
Every day the Lord Himself is near me,
With a special mercy for each hour;
All my cares He fain would bear and cheer me,
He whose name is Counsellor and Pow’r.
The protection of His child and treasure
Is a charge that on Himself He laid;
“As thy days, thy strength shall be in measure,”
This the pledge to me He made.
3
Help me then, in every tribulation,
So to trust Thy promises, O Lord,
That I lose not faith’s sweet consolation,
Offered me within Thy holy Word.
Help me, Lord, when toil and trouble meeting,
E’er to take, as from a father’s hand,
One by one, the days, the moments fleeting,
Till with Christ the Lord I stand.
