The Desire of Ages / Re: The Desire of Ages--54--The Good Samaritan

Amen, Brother Beacon!

Are you willing to help? God can providentially provide opportunities for us to help those who are in need, and it is abiding in the truth of God's character that so helps us to move forward in His faith that works by love and purifies the soul. Jesus, abiding in you, will produce all of the fruits of the Spirit without one missing, which is just as miraculous as a seed sprouting to bring forth a flower. The love of Christ is a more attractive witness than the world's darkness and delusions! Jesus, instead of getting into a controversial discussion about "Who is my neighbor?" presented the true story of the Good Samaritan. We can learn from Jesus how to handle trying situations--presenting the light of God's truth in love as it applies to real life with real people in need.

"The way to dispel darkness is to admit light. The best way to deal with error is to present truth. It is the revelation of God's love that makes manifest the deformity and sin of the heart centered in self." {The Desire of Ages, page 498, paragraph 5}

While we cannot, of ourselves, be delivered from selfishness, we can look to Christ and allow His love to work the renunciation of selfishness. When we really believe that God loves and means to do us good, we shall cease to worry about the future and gladly do God's will, going forward in His providences to serve and bless. Are you willing to be available today for God's loving plans in your life? There is joy in being a blessing!

Amen my brothers and sister. God loves us and wants us to have love, joy, and peace in this world. Do we know what is truth? The True Witness has a message for Seventh-day Adventists in our day. Read Rev. 3:20 in context. He speaks to us today.

     The True Witness says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock." Revelation 3:20. Every warning, reproof, and entreaty in the word of God or through His messengers is a knock at the door of the heart. It is the voice of Jesus asking for entrance. With every knock unheeded, the disposition to open becomes weaker. The impressions of the Holy Spirit if disregarded today, will not be as strong tomorrow. The heart becomes less impressible, and lapses into a perilous unconsciousness of the shortness of life, and of the great eternity beyond. Our condemnation in the judgment will not result from the fact that we have been in error, but from the fact that we have neglected heaven-sent opportunities for learning what is truth.

"There are many who err, and who feel their shame and their folly."

"They are hungry for words of encouragement."

"They look upon their mistakes and errors, until they are driven almost to desperation."

"These souls we are not to neglect."

"If we are Christians, we shall not pass by on the other side, keeping as far as possible from the very ones who most need our help. When we see human beings in distress, whether through affliction or through sin, we shall never say,,,,

"This does not concern me."

"Ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness." Galatians 6:1."

"By faith and prayer press back the power of the enemy. Speak words of faith and courage that will be as a healing balsam to the bruised and wounded one. Many, many, have fainted and become discouraged in the great struggle of life, when one word of kindly cheer would have strengthened them to overcome. Never should we pass by one suffering soul without seeking to impart to him of the comfort wherewith we are comforted of God.

Remember, my dearly beloved, God is going to hold each one of "US" accountable in the day of Judgment if "WE" are unwilling to be His Coworkers "NOW"
=====================
1
Take my life, and let it be
Consecrated, Lord, to Thee;
Take my moments and my days,
Let them flow in ceaseless praise,
Let them flow in ceaseless praise.
2
Take my hands, and let them move
At the impulse of Thy love;
Take my feet and let them be
Swift and beautiful for Thee,
Swift and beautiful for Thee.
3
Take my voice, and let me sing
Always, only, for my King;
Take my lips, and let them be
Filled with messages from Thee,
Filled with messages from Thee.
4
Take my silver and my gold;
Not a mite would I withhold;
Take my intellect, and use
Every power as Thou shalt choose,
Every power as Thou shalt choose.
5
Take my will, and make it Thine;
It shall be no longer mine.
Take my heart; it is Thine own;
It shall be Thy royal throne,
It shall be Thy royal throne.
6
Take my love; my Lord, I pour
At Thy feet its treasure-store.
Take myself, and I will be
Ever, only, all for Thee,
Ever, only, all for Thee.

    John 16:33

These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

Amen, Brother Beacon and Sister Dorine!

As we receive the Holy Spirit by asking for Him to come into our hearts, He fills us with all of the fruits of the Spirit without one missing as we are empowered to obey God up to the light of truth He has shown us; conversion and sanctification is the result of that miracle of willingly surrendering all to Jesus and letting Him direct our steps!

"The omnipotent power of the Holy Spirit is the defense of every contrite soul. Not one that in penitence and faith has claimed His protection will Christ permit to pass under the enemy's power. The Saviour is by the side of His tempted and tried ones. With Him there can be no such thing as failure, loss, impossibility, or defeat; we can do all things through Him who strengthens us. When temptations and trials come, do not wait to adjust all the difficulties, but look to Jesus, your helper." {The Desire of Ages, page 490, paragraph 5}

Nothing is too hard for God. Let us not look at what we can do, but what God can do for and through us when we are vitally united to Christ by faith. Life becomes an adventure of seeing Him work out His will and way in His perfect timing for His glory. Let us seek Him who alone can truly help us in every situation. He's got this! Trust Him!!

This promise I claim each day.  As the Holy Spirit is withdrawn from the earth the assaults' of the devil increase but here is a promise that will keep us rejoicing through our trials knowing they are used of God to perfect our character and fit us for heaven.  It doesn't happen automatically. We must keep our eyes on Jesus and hearts fully surrendered moment by moment.

"The only way in which we can gain a more perfect apprehension of truth is by keeping the heart tender and subdued by the Spirit of Christ."

"The soul must be cleansed from vanity and pride, and vacated of all that has held it in possession."

"Christ must be enthroned within."

"Human science is too limited to comprehend the atonement."

"The plan of redemption is so far-reaching that philosophy cannot explain it."

"It will ever remain a mystery that the most profound reasoning cannot fathom."

"The science of salvation cannot be explained; but it can be known by experience."

"Only he who sees his own sinfulness can discern the preciousness of the Saviour."

Lord "OPEN OUR EYES that we may see our great need of cleansing."

=========================
1
Open my eyes that I may see
Glimpses of truth Thou hast for me;
Place in my hands the wonderful key
That shall unclasp and set me free.
    Silently now I wait for Thee,
Ready, my God, Thy will to see;
Open my eyes, illumine me,
    Spirit Divine!
2
Open my ears that I may hear
Voices of truth Thou sendest clear;
And while the wave notes fall on my ear,
Everything false will disappear.
3
Open my mouth and let me bear
Tidings of mercy everywhere;
Open my heart and let me prepare
Love with Thy children thus to share.
4
Open my mind that I may read
More of Thy love in word and deed;
What shall I fear while yet Thou dost lead?
Only for light from Thee I plead.

The Desire of Ages / Re: The Desire of Ages--49--At the Feast of Tabernacles

Thank you for your response.

As I understand it, Armageddon is the great battle at the second coming.

Gog and Magog battle is at the 3rd coming when Jesus resurrects all the wicked.  They will be given time to prepare for their battle to try and overtake the new Jerusalem.  This is when God’s people will be keeping the feast of tabernacles.

I don’t believe we are to keep the feasts but this one instance keeps me studying.
