It is such a beautiful message in song.
  For ever, O LORD, thy word is settled in heaven. Psalm 119:89

A message from Elder John Thurber:

Sabbath Vespers – November 7, 2014

As the Sabbath hours come to us an hour earlier this week, I want to turn our thoughts to heaven and some of the wonders that we will someday find there.  One of the best things that I look forward to is the music that we will be privileged to hear for the first time from all the heavenly hosts.  We are told in Revelation 5:11,12 – “And I beheld, and I heard the voice of many angels round about the throne and the beasts and the elders: and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands; Saying with a loud voice, ‘Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing.”  That will be such a thrilling sound to hear!

Let’s sing together:
“There is singing up in heaven such as we have never known,
Where the angels sing the praises of the Lamb upon the throne;
Their sweet harps are ever tuneful and their voices always clear,
O that we might be more like them while we serve the Master here!

(Chorus)  Holy, holy, is what the angels sing,
                And I expect to help them make the courts of heaven ring;
                But when I sing redemption’s story, they will fold their wings.
                For angels never felt the joys that our salvation brings.

So, although I’m not an angel, yet I know that over there
I will join a blessed chorus that the angels cannot share;
I will sing about my Saviour, who upon dark Calvary
Freely pardoned my transgressions, died to set a sinner free.”

Happy Sabbath to you all!  Keep a song on your heart all the time in praise to Him who brings us life eternal.

  For ever, O LORD, thy word is settled in heaven. Psalm 119:89

Thank you, Mimi. I love the hymn, especially this statement. "But when I sing redemption’s story, they will fold their wings.
For angels never felt the joys that our salvation brings."  We are truly blessed to understand grace and its power to transform.
Jesus receives His reward when we reflect His character, the fruits of the Spirit......We deny Jesus His reward when we do not.

And if this touches our heart can anyone even try imagine what it will be like in Heaven to hear and even participate such acts of worship? What a God we serve!!

Here's a Fanny Crosby song I've never heard before, but has a wonderful message.
A couple of years late but thanks Linda for sharing this. I had not heard it before either. I love the tune and the words.

Here's a Fanny Crosby song I've never heard before, but has a wonderful message.

Yet another of Crosby's that I hadn't heard until today.

Never Give Up

1 Never be sad or desponding,
If thou hast faith to believe;
Grace, for the duties before thee,
Ask of thy God and receive.

Refrain:
Never give up,
Never give up,
Never give up to thy sorrows,
Jesus will bid them depart;
Trust in the Lord,
Trust in the Lord,
Sing when your trials are greatest,
Trust in the Lord and take heart.

2 What if thy burdens oppress thee;
What though thy life may be drear;
Look on the side that is brightest,
Pray, and thy path will be clear. [Refrain]

3 Never be sad or desponding,
There is a morrow for thee;
Soon thou shalt dwell in its brightness,
There with the Lord thou shalt be. [Refrain]

4 Never be sad or desponding,
Lean on the arm of thy Lord;
Dwell in the depths of His mercy,
Thou shalt receive thy reward. [Refrain]

Contemporary dittys don't hold a candle to hymns.  It is like comparing the NIV with the KJV. One is rich and deep and the other shallow and simple.

Oh, WOW!  How beautiful !!  Solos are one thing, but there is nothing like harmony.  Loved it!  I also liked how they did some variety with the speeds.  And no clapping at the end, only Amens.  Made me cry.

Amen Mercy!! The hymn used to be in our hymnal. We need to sing it often, for Jesus is indeed coming soon and we are nearing home!  These young women are Seventh-day Adventists in China.

Definitely not done for entertainment.  Simple accompaniment, sung pure, not breathy.  Message in the words has got to be about the best of any hymn out there.

Have been singing this for weeks at home and when driving.
"Thou wilt show me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore."  Ps 16:11
