Call for Medical Workers

The medical missionary work is to be the "right arm" of the gospel. Who shall the Lord send?

Please proceed to the Health Area and the Right Arm forum if God is calling you to this important work. Dr. Lewis has made a call for  help. May the Lord richly bless all who will give their lives for the glory of Him who gave all for us.

Jesus receives His reward when we reflect His character, the fruits of the Spirit......We deny Jesus His reward when we do not.

There is a crisis in Trinidad. Will our Seventh-day Adventist hospital be lost to the Lord's work? Read about the situation in the Right Arm forum. Better yet, pray about what you can do. Who will go for the Lord?

Dear Bro Richard,

Thanks for helping to sensitize our members and visitors with the need for purposeful medical ministry work.

We cannot allow the distractions of the enemy to interfere with our committment to this task.

I wish that the word of this marvellous opportunity can be communicated to our SDA Medical brothers and sisters everywhere. It would be good if members and visitors can send them an e-mail inviting them to visit the right arm thread.

The response has been good. Praise God there are many of His children who are moving in loving obedience to His will for their lives.

Imagine several medical workers form this group giving of their services to resuscitate a SDA hospital in Trinidad that the Lord is seeing fit to rescue because of committed leaders who are standing firm despite opposition.

Let us in doing this, help to consolidate a movement that will work actively as the right arm of the 3 angels message.

Sincerely

Dugald

After nearly a year of uncertainty, one thing is certain in Trinidad. The sale of the 60 bed SDA hospital in Trinidad will no longer proceed. This sale that was recently announced on National Televison by the President of the Caribbean Union Conference was stopped by efforts of laymen and South Caribbean Conference officials.
A mandate given by the laymen to return the institution to the model envisioned by Sister White has paved the way for governance and management to revert to a Medical Superintendent and a Business Manager in collobaration with the local conference. The South Caribbean Conference President will serve as Chairman of the Hospital Board.

It is hoped that through the efforts of committed SDA physicians and other workers, the hospital will eventually implement the model of treatment combined with the prevention of disease.

Many of the laymen who worked vigorously to save the institution from corrupt practices that led to the publicized sale are now represented on the Board of the Hospital and a new Board is being developed. The new Medical Superintendent is Dr Basil C. Arthur, a retired Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgeon, graduate of Loma Linda University who is also an attorney.

Church members feel that this is a great day for the medical work in Trinidad. There is now a great task to be done in reorganizing and rebuilding the intrastructure of the hospital. The prayers of the world church are solicited in this crisis which has been averted. We know that the enemy is not pleased with this unexpected turn of events and will seek to destabilize efforts there.
Let us pray for our brothers and sisters in Trinidad who have stood firm in this moment of crisis.
