We did not feel it here, but in Chico a fellow said that the water in his pool heaved back and forth durning the quake. That is farther away then us from the quake.
It also makes me realize that if something bad happened it may not happen in one place, but might have up-heavals all along the valt. Anyone know about this...is it possible?

A lot depends in which way the faults are and which way the earth moves during an earthquake. What type of soil one lives over and if there are mountains near where one lives.

Back in 1994 when we had the Northridge earthquake the center was 6.8, but yet where I lived 24 miles away it was 7.1. There was major damage at the center, but there was little damage in our area.

I think we are far from knowing about earthquakes and need to know a lot more.
