Strong earthquake hits northern Sumatra, Indonesia

JAKARTA (BNO NEWS) — A strong earthquake struck northern Sumatra in Indonesia on Saturday morning, seismologists said.
The 6.0-magnitude earthquake at 9.11 a.m. local time (0211 GMT) was centered about 96 kilometers (59 miles) southeast of Sibolga, a city in North Sumatra. It struck about 10 kilometers (6.2 miles) deep, making it a shallow earthquake, according to the country’s Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency.
