Lesson 5, Discussion Questions.
« on: April 23, 2000, 01:16:00 PM »
(1) Explain why, when we approach the subject of Christ's humanity, "we would do well to heed the words spoken by Christ to Moses at the burning bush, 'Put off thy shoes from thy feet, for the place whereon thou standest is holy ground.'" (SM 1, p.244)

(2) What risks do you think were involved in the mission Jesus undertook among us? Explain.

(3) Why is death called "the last enemy" (1Cor.15:26)

Our finite minds have great difficulty understanding the greatest mystery on this earth, how can Jesus be fully God and fully man? Why would He want to come to earth to redeem people that did not even appreciate His work?
We do not have to understand it, but we can accept it by faith in the Word.

I believe there were risks involved by Christ coming to this earth. If the devil had of been victorious, where would that leave you and I, right out in the cold. Then what would have happened to Jesus Himself in that situation, again out in the cold.
Praise the Lord we do not have to speculate because Jesus Christ was the victor.

"Christ in his Godhead shone forth as he burst from the tomb, and rose triumpant over death and the grave...Jesus is a risen Saviour. He came forth from the grave to vindicate his previous claims, to confirm the faith of his followers, to establish the truth of his Godhead before men, to make doubly sure the assurance that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." (ST,May,1995)
