XP Lock up

XP has been giving me a problem. It has been crashing when the screen saver is on from time to time. I have never gone online to update anything since building the computer a couple of years ago. So, if there is something needed, do I have to go online to get an update? It is not such a problem that I want to open a can of worms by going online and risking who knows what.  :(

Brother Richard, there has been some significant updates since then. If you're still on dial-up you will not wish to get the updates. There are too many and some of them are huge.

Probably the best way is to find a friend who has a dsl or broad-band connection and have them download the updates and burn them to CD.

By communion with God in nature, the mind is uplifted, and the heart finds rest.  {DA 291.1}
