The Poet's Testimonies

Dear Sister Marie,
About 18 years ago, when I was leasing the trailer park here in Baja, I went back to the states to sell my house and had so much to take back that I filled my beat-up old motor home, and pulled a trailer full and overloaded besides cases of Bibles, Spanish (EGW) DA. and SC. and the one driving down the Baja with me backed out so I had to do it alone. The books would have been confescated had they found them. I was very nervous as I prayed and here is my trip down the Baja.

MY CO-PILOT AND I TRAVEL TO BAJA

We left on Sunday, with L.A. as our goal.
Just my Co-pilot and I, and peace in my soul.
Two hundred miles north of L.A. and soon would be dark.
Time to stop for the night but no rest area or park.

“Don’t you know, accidents are caused by people like you!”
Oh! my lights don’t work,  Lord, what do I do?
But finally found an Oasis, with lights, food and gas.
Lord, just resting my eyes  all I needed alas!

Overnight we parked, so safe, my Co-Pilot and I
Didn’t like being kicked off the road by that guy.
Right at dawn headed out toward the border town.
Again night was falling, and a KOA we just found.

Prayed most that night, my Co-Pilot and I,
The next morning’s crossing, THEY WAIVED US RIGHT BY!
With tears and thanksgiving, we went on our way.
Three other times, we were stopped in one day.

But they never looked at a thing we had,
My Co-Pilot told them we had nothing bad.
Mountains and cliffs, and trucks zooming fast.
Narrow roads, shortage of fuel, oh, would I last?

My thoughts were on Jesus, my Guide,
He was also my Co-Pilot, who never left my side.
Just remember wherever you go,
Your Co-Pilot is there, cause God loves us so.

HUMAN WORTH

When Jesus lived upon this earth
He preached on Human Worth.
How much we mean to Him to give
His life that we might live.

Each person that He’d meet each day
He’d search their heart that way.
With love each day He’d fill them up
And teach them to receive His cup.

He healed their ills, took pain away
Healed their hearts of sin each day.
Yes, day and night He labored long
Till people’s hearts were filled with song.

“Your Worth so much, so much to me
“That I consent to die for thee.
“The Truth is all that I can give
“It’s all you need so you can live.”

“Do come my child, come to me
“I so desire to set you free.”

IT’S A STEP AT A TIME CHILD

A Step at a time child,
I hear my Jesus say,
It's a step at a time child
That's how you find your way.

Not by running the race of life,
Or sitting in front of tv.
It's on your knees with me child
I will teach you how to see.

To see my law as love to you
Never being a binding arm.
To see without it you wouldn't be
Without it there'd be harm.

Because I love you I point the way
To the things you ought to do.
How I wish you to be happy,
True freedom I offer you.

A Step at a time child,
I hear my Jesus say,
It's a step at a time child
That's how you find your way.

Not by running the race of life,
Or sitting in front of tv.
It's on your knees with me child
I will teach you how to see.

I thank You Lord for sunshine
For wind upon my face,
For birds that sing with joy
You made for them a place.

I thank You for our puppies
Healthy as can be,
I thank You God for little things
That You have given me.

I thank You for the peace
That only You can give,
For re-birth in my soul
Giving You a place to live.

I thank You for the good times Lord
There have been so many true,
But I'll be thanking you in the bad times
For Your there for us then too.

So many things that I could say
But one thing shines far above,
I thank You mostly for the life
Given on Calvary’s tree with Love.

I Thank You Lord

JESUS AT OUR DOOR

Jesus has always loved you friend
Don’t matter a bit how long it’s been.
He doesn’t come to be with you
To condemn the things you do.

He’s only there because He cares
And wants to help you shake the tares.
He’s there because He loves you true
He want you saved, yes friend you.

If His presence we fail to see
Then on the alert we need to be.
For we have turned away too much
If we no longer want His touch.

So know He’s there to help along
Especially when we know we’re wrong.
We must change, be happy for
His presents there is at the door.

The latch is only on our side
He needs in to be our guide.
But….
You must turn the latch for Him
Open the door, invite Him in.

THE LIVING WATER
Isaiah 58:11

"He shall see the sufferings of his soul, and shall be satisfied, by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for He shall bear their iniquities".

The Ground was stony, the path all gone
I stumbled and fell, I couldn't go on.
My feet were bleeding, my body worn
The future hopeless, my faith so torn.

Many times the Water of Life I'd seen
But when I arrived it was only a dream.
I ate of the dust and it was not wet
My need to live had not been met.

Then I seen Him standing there
He said to me with loving care,
"You need the Water I can give
"Come my child, except and live".

Then the Living Water came
It showered me like pouring rain.
I asked His Spirit into my heart and
The Holy Spirit made a new start.

Now refreshed by His Holy Son
Songs of Praise so easily come.
My burden light, the path I see
For Jesus walks each step with me.

Here is a poem we can all put in our Kitchen
taken from "Ten Talents" Cook Book

     OUR KITCHEN PRAYER
Please bless this little kitchen, Lord
Let every meal we make
Build healthy bodies, loving hearts
In all who will partake.

I thank Thee for this loving place
And your instructions from Your Book,
It keeps us all so strong and well,
The food you make, we cook.

This door will see the fond "hellos"
As dear ones come each day.
And may each one who passes through
Return again I pray.

And let them all, who enter here,
Find warmth and food and love.
And go forth knowing that they have
Thy smile from heaven above.
Amen

Thank you Sister Ele, that was so nice. Here is another one.

Song of Health

If you want good health
Nature's laws obey;
All her recepts heed,
Never from them stray;
Harmful habits shun,
Do not "push" yourself
When too tired -- or you may find
'Twill put you on "the shelf!"

Take some time to play;
Stand straight, breathe in deep;
Work while it is day;
Always get your sleep;
Eat just what you need --
Never more, nor less;
Moderation is the guide
To health and happiness!

Water is your firend:
Used within, without
Cleanses, smoothes, and heals,
Puts the germs to rout;
Best repairs the rents
Stress of living brings,
Loosens taut and "ragged" nerves
And gives the spirit wings!

Sunshine and fresh air,
Clean and wholesome food,
Proper exercise,
Thoughts upright and good,
Keep the cheeks aglow,
Bodies fit and strong, Keep the brain alert and clean,
And give the heart a song.

Health for you!
Health for me!
Health for all mankind!
Healing for the halt and lame,
And vision for the blind;
Health for you!
Health for me!
Health for all mankind!
This our goal:
A body whole
In spirit, flesh, and mind.

WHEN JESUS LOOKS
When Jesus looks upon my life,
What picture does He see.
Does He see His own reflection,
Or does He just see me.
*
Does He see His likeness,
The product of His hand.
Or just another Christian,
Who never took a stand.
*
Does He see a child of God,
A child that He made free.
Living life to honor Him,
Or does He just see me.
*
What about the other folks,
I meet along the way.
Do I show them Jesus,
To brighten up their day.
*
When someone looks into my eyes,
Can they truly see.
That calm and gentle peace of God,
That dwells inside of me.
*
When I reach out and shake a hand,
Is He right there in my grip.
Can they feel that strength from God,
That steadies when I slip.
*
When folks are in my presence,
Do they know His Spirit's there.
Can they see that He's the one,
Who guides me everywhere.
*
When other people think of me,
What is on their mind.
Do they think of Jesus Christ,
So gentle and so kind.
*
I try to be like Jesus,
Every single day.
Spreading love and kindness,
All along my way.
*
I'm afraid that I have failed,
I could not pass the test.
Deep inside my heart I know,
I haven't done my best.
*
I have had to fight my flesh,
Since the day that I was born.
It's always causing trouble,
And being such a thorn.
*
That's why His Spirit dwells in me,
He's helping me to learn.
In every situation,
Where I need to turn.
*
He knew I'd never pass the test,
That's why He took my place.
He gave His life to save my soul,
He suffered my disgrace.
*
Now I try to be like Him,
I must represent Him well.
So other folks will want His gift,
His Praises ever tell.

Other folks should see the joy,
That Christ has given me.
They should want to have it too,
Especially since it's free.

They should begin to ask me,
What is it they must do.
Just how it is they go about,
Getting Jesus too.

Then I get to tell them,
This wondrous gift is free.
It only takes a humble heart,
A prayer on bended knee.

Someday when I'm face to face,
With the Lord who made me free.
Will He see His own reflection,
Or will He just see me.

With Christian Love,
Marie

Lord, Help Me Clean My Own Backyard

I need not judge the others Lord
Until "I've cleaned my own backyard"
I know there's things I need to do
To be a whole lot more like you.
Too sensitive, for my own good
I don't do things, the way I should
When someone hurts me, Lord no doubt
They simply Jerk My Heart Right Out.

I feel rejected, sad and blue
and don't always know what to do
From this day forward, as I live
Please teach me Lord, how to forgive
I do not ever want to judge
And never let me hold a grudge
That is not how I want to be.

Help me oh Lord, to be like Thee
And when someone I love hurts me
Open my eyes and let me see
That I'm not perfect, just let me know
Help me forgive, then let it go
Some friends I have are dear to me
No matter what, They'll always be...
But friends should be, Handled with Care.

Forgive me Lord... I've been Unfair
Oh teach me not to judge sweet Lord
Til I've cleaned up My Own Backyard
And stop this sensitivity
That simply just destroys me
No matter what is said or done
Help me remember "Your sweet Son".
He saw my sins, Yet showed no blame

Please help me Lord, to do the same
I have no right to Judge, you see
The finger points right back at me
So please don't let me do it, Lord
Just help me "Clean My Own Backyard"!

Being First
Being first is not my style
I like to stop and feel awhile
Under the moon's thin-lipped smile
I find a peace that lasts for miles.

By myself I'm not alone
No TV guide, no telephone
The quiet noise in the trees
Cuts my bonds, puts my mind at ease.

You know my journey never ends
Long as I am I will be traveling
To know myself and know my friends
To heal some hurts and make amends
Down this rocky trail I find
The roughest path is in my mind
Down this rocky trail I find
The roughest path is in my mind.

The Power Flowed In

He opened my eyes and the Power Flowed in
It lead me away from the desire to sin.
It help me to see that in prayer day by day
We need to "step out" to see the way.

Step out in faith to see where He leads
"Do not stay dormant" He tenderly pleads.
"My Power is waiting here for you child
Under your name is where it is filed".

The file is opened when I'm on my knees
Praying for power He heard my pleas.
Tenderly lifting me while reading His Word
The message of Truth, the best ever heard.

A SPIRIT OF ONE ACCORD

We meet today together here
For Jesus Christ our Lord,
We seek within these mighty walls
A Spirit of one accord.

Upon us let Thy Spirit flow
And never let it end,
Within us let us always know
That you will be our friend.

In us we know there’s nothing
No good can there be found,
But oh my brethren here today
Just take a look around.

For there is One beside us
He’s armed and ready there,
God’s Spirit ever waiting
To use the ones who care.

We meet today together here
For Jesus Christ our Lord,
We seek within these mighty walls
A Spirit of one Accord.

                   Angels In My Life

In watching the actions, the winds do on this earth
They rustle up the seas or become the hurricanes birth.
When it has passed, I can see the results it leaves behind
But I really did not see the wind, could I be blind?

Angels come and go as Messengers from above
They protect and care for us with God's Holy Love.
When nighttime has come and my mind looks at the day
I don't think about an Angel as on my bed I lay.

I remember a poor old lady pushing a cart across the street
But because she was talking to herself, I choose not to meet.
Could she have been an angel dressed in ragged cloth?
Couldn't be an Angel, so I stayed in my high loft.

I drove my car to town today and almost hit a bus,
Good thing I woke up just in time, it sure is no fuss.
Could there have been an Angel sitting next to me
Making sure I was alert gently nudging at my knee?

I could ask so many questions about the things that day
But instead I'd rather think it was I that cleared the way.
An Angel enter in my life, the credit not my own?
I'd have to see the Angel, and I was never shown.

How blind I am to think, that I could ever do a thing
If only I knew all of it, the truth would really sting.
Had I seen all the times, my Angel stretched His arm
Helping me not to walk, in the way of harm.

Then I would say like Thomas, when his eyes did see
"I believe I believe, Oh Saviour forgive me."
That I should leave your tender care, aside in my thoughts
And think that "I" had gotten through, the chief of all my faults.

          Sharing His Love To All

As a fan gathers air and throws it about
So we can do with our love.
Gathering it together like wind in March and
Glide within it’s folds like a dove.

Extend it to all who need a good taste
Of what God’s love can be in their life.
Don’t ever hold back His wonderful Love
Ease wherever you can their strife.

Show them that Jesus died for their sins
That He loves and wants them to come.
He’s waiting today to make them clean
They never need to feel succumb.

There’s freedom in Jesus, show them His love
There’s forgiveness in Him, show them how.
There’s forever with Him, show them the way.
There’s a love they can have, share it today.

A BETTER WAY

Many days are not the greatest
Wouldn’t you know just the latest.
Our hearts may hurt and suffer
   Sometimes day two is tougher.

It is easy for my spirit to drop
My straining heart come to a stop.
But then I hear a small voice within
Urging me, return to where I’d been.

When I’m down and under sinking
   You’d think I’d want a helping hand.
Instead I brush the thought aside
   Suffering sorrow--or is it pride?

“Come” says Jesus, “listen now to me
“I desire to set you free.
“Sad, sad thoughts are from the evil one
“Rise above, my daughter and my son.

“It is your choice to be happy or be sad
“I’m here with help, life to add.
“Just except the Truth I have for you
   “Except this Morning Due.

“Come, come to me” I hear our Saviour say
“I know the pain your in, I suffer too that day.
“Follow close beside Me, your protected here,
“And I promise, I’ll dry ever tear”.

Come, come my child to Me.

The Cry of God's Children

Coming one day to meet the Lord
But I did not know the season.
Coming one day to see Him work
But was not wise as to the reason.
Thinking as long as I was there
Regardless of where my mind was,
Thnking as long as duties were done
My life would not have flaws.

Coming one day I met the Lord
Thinking I had done my best,
Coming this day after much of His work
Thinking I would be at rest.
Thinking that I was there because
I'd done it all so right.
Thinking with duties finished up
   No problems were in sight.

Hearing myself say that I was ready
If I must die that night.
I was clear to meet my Lord
When His coming was in sight.
It did not pass along my thoughts
That His smile wouldn't be on me.
I knew that I had done so much
And soon I would be free.

Instead my Lord looked down on me with love
But oh, the sadness in His eyes.
I seen both the love and disappointment there
   And from within the cries.
And suddenly I broke down with tears
That could not err be stopped.
I seen that all that I had done
From this scene had been dropped.

Broken hearted and not myself
   I finely seen it now.
If Jesus was not in my heart
   I really could not bow.
I could work and work to great degree
And think it was so much,
But if He was not working within
The Holy Spirit could not touch.

Falling upon my face, I thanked Him there
For opening my eyes that day,
And asked for another chance to be
   Molded by His clay.
"Here" said I, "take it back again
"And mold me all brand new
"Especially make a brand new heart
"One that works Lord more like you".

I prayed for no more at that time
   For very ill I was.
I did not think I'd made it through
But this was just a pause.
Then He smiled at me and said,
"This is not your time to die.
"Go back my child and live anew,
"Soon I'll take you home on high".

Do I love You
Author Unknown

Do I love You, O my Lord?
Behold my heart and see;
Gently dislodge each idol thence,
That seeks to rival Thee

You know I love You, dearest Lord;
But, oh, I long to soar;
Far from the sphere of mortal joys,
And learn to love You more!
