Thank you Liane. You are so right that the Lord gives them. When I am done and I look at what I wrote, I am awed at what the Lord did, for of myself I could never come close. I thank Him and give praises to Him.  :)

Amen!! It is good to read of the praises and glory due Him!
Jesus receives His reward when we reflect His character, the fruits of the Spirit......We deny Jesus His reward when we do not.

~~Be Aware Of What is Buzzin' In Your  Brain~~

Yummy Root Beer

I seen a can of Root Beer--7
And my mind said to me,--6
Don’t that look so good--5
As yummy as can be.—6

I hadn’t thought of Root Beers
Through-out this whole week long,
(but now)
The brains a-buzzin’
The yummy Root Beer song.

Sight is all it takes sometimes
To kick the brain in gear,
I’m so thirsty now,
Can’t wait for my Root Beer.

“You really are so full yet
“Overloaded I am,
“Really need to wait
“And knowing that I can”.

I’ll be aware of one thing
The thoughts that enter in,
Their not always good
Won’t allow you to win.

I want to loose all this weight
Believe me, I sure do,
Leaving out extras
So I can look brand new.

1 There is One God

That there is one God, a personal, spiritual being, the creator of all things, omnipotent, omniscient, and eternal, infinite in wisdom, holiness, justice, goodness, truth, and mercy; unchangeable, and everywhere present by his representative, the Holy Spirit. Psalm 139:7. (SDA beliefs 1872)

Tune: Angels' Song

1 One God and Father over all,
Creator and Almighty King,
In mercy He gives forth the call
Of truth: to that one God I sing.

2 One God and Lover of all men,
Of woman, child and beastly share,
Of bird, bat, dog, and cat again,
Dwellers of forests, fields, and air.

3 One God, holy and just is He,
All knowing, without sin or change,
Wise, good, being’s eternity,
Above, around, within all range.

4 One God and Saviour of the earth,
Whose form’s shrouded in glory’s light,
Unreachable from angels’ worth,
Invisible in human sight.

5 One God so close to human heart
That eye cannot reveal His ways,
One God beyond all human art,
One God, the object of my praise.

2 There is One Lord, Jesus the Christ

That there is one Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of the Eternal Father, the one by whom God created all things, and by whom they do consist; that he took on him the nature of the seed of Abraham for the redemption of our fallen race; that he dwelt among men full of grace and truth, lived our example, died our sacrifice, was raised for our justification, ascended on high to be our only mediator in the sanctuary in Heaven, where, with his own blood, he makes atonement for our sins; which atonement, so far from being made on the cross, which was but the offering of the sacrifice, is the very last portion of his work as priest, according to the example of the Levitical priesthood, which foreshadowed and prefigured the ministry of our Lord in Heaven. See Leviticus ch. 16, Hebrews 8:4, 5; 9:6, 7; &c. (SDA Beliefs 1872)

Tune: Commandments

1 There is one Lord, Jesus the Christ,
The Son of the Eternal God,
Incarnate Word that once sufficed
To sing in being sea and sod.

2 He was one born of Abram’s seed
To live on earth redeeming all,
Live our example in our need,
And die our death beneath the pall.

3 In grace and truth raised up on high,
He lives to atone from all sin,
High priest in most holy to spy
Reward that all the righteous win.

3 The Holy Scriptures, Written Word

That the Holy Scriptures, of the Old and New Testaments, were given by inspiration of God, contain a full revelation of his will to man, and are the only infallible rule of faith and practice.

Tune: Consolation
1 The holy Scriptures, written Word
   Unfolding to my eye
Were penned by those whose hearts were stirred
   By Holy Spirit nigh.

2 Full revelation of the will
   Divine for humankind
Abides a light to guide us still,
Both hand and heart, and mind.

3 I love the holy Word of God,
   I open it with fear,
It is to me a guiding rod
And staff of life to cheer.

4 I come before the sacred page
   In worship and in prayer
To meet the God who age to age
Rules earth and sea and air.

4 Baptize me with Water and Fire

That Baptism is an ordinance of the Christian church, to follow faith and repentance, an ordinance by which we commemorate the resurrection of Christ, as by this act we show our faith in his burial and resurrection, and through that, of the resurrection of all the saints at the last day; and that no other mode fitly represents these facts than that which the Scriptures prescribe, namely, immersion. Romans 6:3-5; Colossians 2:12. (SDA Beliefs 1872).

Tune: Aspurg
1 Baptize me with water and fire
   And Spirit of the Lord,
Quench and cleanse me of all desire
   For idol and adored.

2 As lifeless I lie under flood,
   Renew that life in me
That once raised from the death and blood
   My Saviour gloriously.

3 Be this the witness of the stand
   Of faith I now employ
Knowing the resurrection grand
Shall one day be my joy.

4 Upon that day the ones who sleep
   In dusty bosom wake,
And we who live above the deep
   With them shall heaven take.

5 I Rush into Thy Kingdom, God

That the new birth comprises the entire change necessary to fit us for the kingdom of God, and consists of two parts: first, a moral change, wrought by conversion and a Christian life; second, a physical change at the second coming of Christ, whereby, if dead, we are raised incorruptible, and if living, are changed to immortality in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye. John 3:3, 5; Luke 20:36.

Tune: St. Stephen
1 I rush into Thy kingdom, God,
   Begging a boon of Thee,
I pray Thy Grace alone on rod
   Make three changes in me.

2 Impute the life of Thy Christ sent
   To die upon the tree,
Impart his holiness once lent,
   Made mine eternally.

3 Then in a moment soon when I
   Shall see him joyfully
Upon the cloud lift me to sky
   In immortality.

Raising his Hat

When daughter Mary found her mate
In Colin, who was not too late
In getting a clerkship in town,
She pulled up stakes and left the brown
Village, its cows, potato fields
The lake and forest, what it yields
And moved into the cosy flat
That Colin found where he was at.

When father William thought it time
To visit daughter, he would climb
In the wagon and hitch a ride
To the fork, then walk by roadside
To town and lift his hat and greet
Each one he passed, but as his feet
Neared market square, he raised his arms
And cried aloud as in alarms
“Ye be too many to lift hat,
But go with God for all of that!”

I just believe the Decalogue
Is a clear voice heard in the fog,
Augmenting reason, what I know
From inside and from outside show.
“One God alone” implies we all
Are in one boat and share the stall.
“No images” implies beliefs
About the Deity cause griefs
When grasped as truth in ultimate.
Who call upon the name and great
Of the one God of all to state
Repentance for the evil done
Receive grace and forgiveness won.
The Sabbath comes in to remind
That power’s limited in kind,
And all the weak have rights that must
Never be trampled in the dust.
Honour to mom and dad for me
Is the whole of my liturgy.
No matter what excuse is found
I must not kill others, be bound
By marriage not to go around
Like tom-cat on the nightly ground,
Nor steal the neighbour’s siller nor
Falsely report the wicked score.
And finally, if I relent
Not coveting what’s to be spent
By anyone else in the tent,
Then I shall succeed in my faith
And not remain a traipsing wraith.
I’m an adherent of each church
Or mosque or synagogue to perch
On these foundation stones, and I
Reject institutions that lie
Against these principles. I know
The one Reality below
In every soul is just like me,
And so find in the face I see
Before me all divinity.

A contemplation of the Septuagint version of Job 2:7-10

7 So went Satan out from the sight
Of YHWH and struck Job with the might
Of boils from the sole of his foot
To the place where the crown is put.
8 And he took a potsherd to scrape
Himself with it, and sat agape
Among the ashes in such shape.
9 Then said his wife to him, “Do you
Still keep your integrity due?
Saying ‘See I shall wait a while,
Expecting my salvation’s smile?’
See, your memory is blotted out
From earth, both daughters and sons stout,
The pangs and pains my womb in vain
Bore in sorrows and without gain,
And you yourself sit down to spend
The nights under the sky to fend
Corruption of the worms you tend,
While I wander from place to place
A servant in each house disgrace,
Waiting for the sun to go down
That I may rest from labour’s frown
And the pains that beset my view:
Curse God and die there in your pew.”
10 But he told her, “You speak as one
Of the foolish women undone.
Shall we surely take of the good
That Alohim gives, and so should
We not accept adversity?”
No sin was in Job’s lip’s decree.

I too might curse, Belovčd, if I knew
Which is the blessing and which is the true
And which the curse. The limits on my vision
Teach me to circumspection in decision.
The pain and pleasure principle may be
A rule of thumb, experience, though, can see
That oftentimes the twisting rope of senses
Is product of an ailing paunch or menses.
The blessing is the blessing of Your law,
In pain or pleasure, there I stand in awe.
I scrape my boils and eat my cakes of ashes.
I dream I take from You, despite the sashes,
Celestial windows’ goods unmixed with ill,
The honeyed cake and healing bitter pill.

Amen, we are to glory in our tribulation for good reason as is explained clearly in the Book of Romans.
Jesus receives His reward when we reflect His character, the fruits of the Spirit......We deny Jesus His reward when we do not.

:)In times when we get bogged down and we search for the simplier things in life. (Where are they today?)

Grandma’s Discoveries

I reached across the gulf of my mind
And searched for a simpler time,
I scratched away the mold and rust
To find a time sublime.
A time uplifting to my thoughts
I searched the whole day long,
And then I seen it laying there
Gentle like a birdies song.

I seen this baby smile at me
Sweetest in many a day,
He reached for me so tenderly
In his childlike way.
He spoke directly to my heart
In each little baby word,
I knew he said, “I love you”
So uplifting what I heard.

Grandma’s little bundle of joy
In this time so sublime,
A time when problems melt
And I hear the gospels chime.
Peace for my searching heart
This grandson that I hold,
I know God has heard my prayer
In lifting Grandma’s load.

He’s uplifting To My Soul

Jesus And The Blind

Could you but see the beauty
That spreads from east to west,
Could you but know the wonders
How fully we all are blessed.

Am I really left without
Due to sunsets not seen,
Or upon early rising
The sunrise I can’t gleam?

She does not know the secrets
That lay within my soul,
That even though I’m blind
There is so much that I know.

Sight is not my interest
God can come deep inside,
In speaking He shares with me
He is my constant guide.

He shares with me the beauty
My eyes refuse to give,
And fills my heart with knowledge
Helping me each day I live.

He has blessed me with hearing
That rises above most,
I’m keyed to natures soundings
They are now my daily host.

You see, since I met Jesus
He filled my lonely heart,
He’s blessed me with happiness
Giving me a brand new start.

He chose not to heal my eyes
My heart was in such need,
He changed my sick attitude
“Thank you, my heart You have freed”.

Oh thank you Jesus for sight
Into this heart of mine,
Helping me to see the light
Heaven’s Treasure did I find.

Brace Yourself Mankind

Where were you when God Created the world?
When earth and living things were unfurled,
Who decided how large the earth would be?
In all your self-made wisdom, was it thee?
What foundation does the world rest upon?
Do you know, daughter or son?
Who laid that cornerstone for your world
So into the universe it was not hurled?

If you know, speak now.

How were the ocean’s boundaries decided
Who said “no farther”, the waters guided,
As they burst forth from the womb of earth
Giving the worlds oceans their birth?
Did you see those powerful waves recede
Did you hear as with me they agreed?
Where were you when I made the clouds
To wrap the earth with beautiful shrouds?

Have you ever shown the dawn it’s place
To come upon the earth with such grace?
Tell me, have you given orders to the morning
Often with the beginning of the day, a warning.
Dawn shapes the appearance of the earth
Like clay pressed by a seal, showing it’s worth.
Daylight makes the hills and the valleys appear
Like folds in a garment, at evening to disappear.

Did you see the first dawn?

Prayer By The Sea Shore

One day walking along the sea
We walked, my friend and me,
The sun shone bright in the sky
As we shared, not asking why.

Two coming together as one
In their visiting they did come,
The one knew the other was great
And realizing much was at stake.

Like his friend he desired to walk
Like his friend he desired to talk,
As an answer to all of his cares
His soul to his friend he bares.

Promises one makes to the other
More important than father or mother,
The promises gave hope to his soul
Making him totally whole.

Dear Jesus wrap us securely
Melt us in Your Truth surely,
Depending on Your promises true
May we always have faith in You.

Like his friend he desired to walk
Like his friend he desired to talk,
As an answer to all of his cares
His soul to his friend he bares.

From Age To Eternity

In it’s beauty, I took a walk one day
Along the sea shore and the bay,
My thoughts ran back to childhood
As my body did the best it could.

In a swinging hammock, I remember playing
Back and forth, in joy forever swaying,
I’d sing “Row row row your boat”
Swinging wildly to keep afloat.

Then mothers voice I’d hear again
“Come in, it’s supper time,” has been,
Long tucked away in mental cubby holes
With all the rest of my childhood roles.

As my aged feet feel the cool water around
I’m leaning in my mind, to a heavenly sound,
Beautiful hymns sung in a church so blessed
Most all the friends laid now to their rest.

But even though my eyes, no longer seeing well
I still can hear their singing, as a clear ringing bell,
And as I lay be down, my life till Jesus comes
I listen to the music, as it sweetly hums.

Waiting till Jesus comes, like a twinkling of the eye
The next thing that we know, is years have floated by,
Seeing Jesus coming, as He promised He would come
He takes us home with Him, each daughter and each son.

Prepare For The Time Is Short

I keep them there transfixed as dolls
Watching things that are not true,
That every word and act that’s done
Right then is false and new.

I convince daily they spend their time
On things that entertain,
Keeping thoughts of preparation
Dangerously restrained.

The sins of God’s people years ago
Was taking other gods,
And all the entertainment offered
Sin against all odds.

Today the gods have changed their shapes
But still they offer fun,
And still we spend our time with them
Instead of the Holy One.

I taught the human Saints of God
That now they need not care,
For when the Lord comes in the sky
He will cleanse them everywhere.

No longer now are they concerned
About the sins they do,
For when the Lord comes that day
He’ll make them all anew.

But God has said that if we love
Him in this life we live,
That we will overcome our sins
With the Power that Christ will give.

Now is not a time for Satan’s games
A life without concern,
Now is the time to prepare for Him
And to our Lord return.
