WHO TOOK YOUR PLACE?

One day, a man went to visit a church. He got there early, parked his car, and got out. Another car pulled up near and the driver got out and said, "I always Park there! You took my place!"

The visitor went inside for Sabbath School, found an empty seat and sat down. A young lady from the church approached him and stated, "That's my Seat!
You took my place!"

The visitor was somewhat distressed by this rude welcome, but said nothing.

After Sabbath School, the visitor went into the sanctuary and sat down. Another member walked up to him and said, "That's where I always Sit! You took my place!"

The visitor was even more troubled by this treatment, but still he said nothing.

Later as the congregation was praying for Christ to dwell among them, the visitor stood up, and his appearance began to change. Horrible scars became visible on his hands and on his sandaled feet. Someone from the congregation noticed him and called out,
What happened to you?"
As his hat became a crown of thorns, and tears fell from his eyes, Jesus said,
    "I took your place."

[I don't know if this should be posted here or not, but an officer friend sent it to me and I thought it may have as much meaning to others as to me.]

The Straying Lamb

The Shepherd loved His little lamb, And gave it His tender care...
And followed it with His loving eyes as it wandered here and there.
And as He sat by His grazing flock who so meekly His voice obeyed,
He pondered sadly His little lamb as again and again it strayed.

The little lamb had a loving heart, and adored His Shepherd, true,
But would turn aside and seek his own way as lambs will so often do.

With His gentle voice the Shepherd called, to His loved and straying lamb,
"Come back, little one, for you are not safe unless you are where I am."

But still the lamb would soon forget and unthinkingly wander away,
And not really noticing what he did, from the Shepherd's side would stray.
Until one day, the Shepherd kind took His rod in His gentle hand,
And what He then did seemed so cruel that the lamb could not understand.

For with one sharp and well-aimed blow down the rod so swiftly came,
That it broke the leg of the little lamb and left it crippled, and lame.
Then the little lamb, with a cry of pain, Fell down upon his knees...
And looked up at His Shepherd as though to say, "Won't you explain this, please?"

Then he saw the love in the Shepherd's eyes as the tears ran down His face as
He tenderly set the broken bone, and bound it back in it's place.

Now he was utterly helpless, he could not even stand!
He must trust himself completely to His Shepherd's loving hand.

Then day by day, 'till the lamb was healed, from the flock he was kept apart...
And carried about in the Shepherd's arms, and cradled near to His heart.
And the Shepherd would whisper gentle words into his now listening ear...
Thus he heard sweet words of love that the other sheep could not hear.

He felt the warmth of the Shepherd's arms and the beat of His faithful heart...
Until it came a blessing to seem, by his weakness to be set apart.
Every need of the little lamb by His Shepherd so fully was met,
That through his brokenness he learned what he never again would forget.

And as the broken bone was healed and once more became whole and strong...
Wherever the Shepherd's path would lead, the lamb would follow along.

Thus at the Shepherd's side he walked so closely, day by day,
For once a lamb has a broken leg it will never again go astray.

For the cords of love had bound it so in its hour of weakness and need...
That it had no desire to wander away, when once again it was freed.
Could it be you are broken today and you cannot understand
the painful blow of the Shepherd's rod nor believe it came from His hand?

He only seeks, by this painful thing, for a time to call you apart...
To cradle you close in His loving arms, and draw you near to His heart.
So look into your Shepherd's eyes, and earnestly seek His face...
And prove in the hour of your weakness and need the sufficiency of His grace.

or as you are borne in His loving arms, and carried there, day by day...
He will bind you so close with the cords of His love, That never again will you stray!

May our Father cradle you close in His loving arms and draw

you ever so near to His heart;Blessings to you always;

Here is a example of His Love.........

A Little Girl's Dream

Juanita Kretschmar was recently at a Women's Prayer Retreat in California and after sharing some stories with the group a young mother came to her and related the following story...

One morning recently, right after Ellie, a 3 year old girl, awakened she said to her mom, "Mommy, I had a dream and Jesus talked to me."

Her mother asked, "What did He say?"

Her daughter told her that Jesus said, "Go tell your mommy that it's time to get ready for Jesus to come."

Ellie's mom told me she had not been reading stories to her child about Jesus' coming, it was not in any of the books they had around that she was looking at, and there had been nothing in their conversations that could have brought that subject to her little one's mind.

Later that same day Ellie told her mom, "We have to tell everyone in the whole world!"

Ellie's mommy asked her, "How are we going to tell everyone in the whole world?"

Her child answered, "We're going to walk."

Her mother asked, "How are we going to walk around the whole world?"

Ellie answered, "We're going to walk to Carrie's house" naming the person who lives next door to them.

Her mother asked, "Then what will we do?"

Her little one answered, "And then we'll go to..." and one by one she named every neighbor's name she knew, or described every house on their street as best she could with her three-year old vocabulary.

Her mom told me she never changed the story, and never forgot the words of her little dream.

That's a good message for all of us: "It's time to get ready for Jesus to come."

and the burden of that child to "Go tell her world."

Perhaps we should all allow a little child to lead us!

Another Example of Jesus Love for us.

John 3:16- "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life."

Romans 5:8- The greatest demontration of God's love toward us was revealed through Christ's death on Calvary.

Romans 3:23- All have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.

Romans 8:7- The carnal (natural) mind will not be subject to God.

Jeremiah 13:23- We are helpless to try to change our nature by ourselves.

Romans 6:23- The wages (penalty) of sin is death.

1John 4:19- Our love for God increases as we realize His love for us.

Romans 2:4- The goodness of God leads us to want to repent.

John 6:44- No one can repent unless the Holy Spirit first speaks to his mind.

Acts 2:37,38- As the Holy Spirit speaks to us, we are to repent of our sins.

1John 1:9- Confession is the outward expression of an inner repentance. If we confess, we will be forgiven.

1Timothy 2:5- We are to confess and pray only to God through Jesus Christ.

John 14:6- Jesus is "the way the truth and the life". There is only one path to heaven and that is through Jesus Christ, the Savior.

Matthew 9:29- It is by faith that God's grace is given to us and we are forgiven and considered justified before the throne of God.

James 1:5-7- We must pray in faith-believing that God will do what He said.

John 20:24-29- Jesus rebuked Thonas for his lack of fath without sight.

Romans 5:1- When we have faith, the result will be peace and joy.

Romans 10:17- Our faith increases through hearing the Word of God preached.

John 3:3- One must be "born again" to be assured of salvation.

2Corinthians 5:17- The evidence of conversion will be a totally new spiritual nature which will bear witness through the life and actions of the indavidual.

1John 2:1- We will make mistakes as we grow, but Christ is always there to forgive and give victory in the future.

(Victory here is the key... Forgiveness can't happen after death or the sealing. Letting Christ give us Victory now is the only safe way)
