Pastor Leroy Moore Passed Away Today
(1/1)
Richard Myers:
Pastor Leroy Moore, a good friend, went to rest today after a short illness. He moved from Weimar where he was a professor at Weimar College, to Canada not long ago to be with family. Pastor Moore was a gentle man, well studied, and kind to those who disagreed with His understanding of theology.
A few years ago, he and I went to one who we believed to be in significant error. We discussed how best to approach the situation. After much prayer, we decided it best to present the 1888 message not in disagreement with his theology, but with a desire to come into unity of Spirit with him, unlike what happened with church leadership at the 1888 General Conference Session. It was an amazing experience to be able to spend time with one who we knew held a wrong position, yet never bring it up. It was not necessary to do so since I had already spent time on three different occasions discussing his erroneous theology. This was the kind, gentle man that I knew, Pastor Leroy Moore. May his influence be a continual influence for good in a world soon to perish. He will be missed.
Three of his latest books which are well written are available at the Weimar Market at the Weimar Institute in Weimar Northern California. Adventist Cultures in Conflict: Principles of Reconciliation, Questions on Doctrine Revisited, The Power of Humility.
Here is a lovely picture of Pastor Moore and his wife June. Our prayers are with his family.
Richard Myers:

The life of Pastor Leroy Moore was a testimony to Jesus. Many of us were influenced by His Christian life. Many such testimonies were shared at his memorial service yesterday.
