Courage at the NAD Year End Meeting
« on: November 02, 2017, 06:51:21 AM »
We are were blessed to see that among the NAD leaders, there is one who will stand up and speak the truth. For many years now, there has been rebellion taking place in the NAD. Finally there has been one who, like Nicodemus, stands up and publicly speaks the truth, no matter what his fellow leaders think.

Attempts were made to make of no effect his words, but his courage will stand on record in the church and in heaven. May God bless this young man. May he be an encouragement to other leaders in this rebellious division.

While the NAD has neglected their responsibility to deal with the rebellion, it remains with them to deal with the unions and conferences that are not following their bylaws and the General Conference in Session vote to not ordain women pastors. It is not the GC's responsibility unless the division fails to act.

What was the response from the NAD leaders to the motion to act? It was not the division leader who took the initiative to make of no effect the motion made by the young leader, but the GC's Treasurer who moved to table the motion made by the young NAD leader.

He says this is not an issue that belongs at the GC, but at the world church. First, this is an NAD meeting, not a GC meeting. Next, the world church has already decided what to do. It is the NAD's responsibility. He says the motion to deal with the rebellion in the NAD is not necessary. The GC treasurer is not reading his script found in the GC policy manual which says this belongs primarily to the division to deal with the rebellious unions. Why is he speaking out of line?

This is the same man, who, more than 20 years ago (at a NNEC constituency meeting), when he was treasurer for the Atlantic Union, helped publicly humiliate one of our pastors for daring to suggest that the NNEC take a stand against abortion.  No one in leadership would stand up for the pastor.  It was shameful.  And the most vocal opponents were from the Brunswick Church, where the SDA hospital was located.  Is anyone surprised that it is no longer an Adventist  hospital?

Where are the leaders who are not afraid to stand for truth?  They seem to be few and far between.

I couldn't watch the whole video of Prestol speaking.  I found it very disturbing.
So likewise ye, when ye shall have done all those things which are commanded you, say, We are unprofitable servants:  we have done that which was our duty to do.  Luke 17:10

The word that comes to mind is "pathetic."

If any wonder why it is that the General Conference is not able to deal with the apostasy in the church very effectively, you have a glimpse of the problem right here. This man who is part of the problem is a GC officer.
