The Rocky Mountain Conference runs the
Glacier View Ranch youth camp north of Denver Colorado. Last Sunday a black bear attacked a sleeping camp counselor. The nineteen year old young man survived the attack with head and face wounds which required surgical staples to close them.
The bear was trapped, identified, and killed. The summer camp did not have food stored in the open. It is not known why this bear attacked a human. The incidence of a bear attack on humans appears to be on the rise.
