"And there were certain Greeks among them that came up to worship at the feast: the same came therefore to Philip, which was of Bethsaida of Galilee, and desired him, saying, Sir, we would see Jesus. When Christ heard the eager request, "We would see Jesus," echoing the hungering cry of the world, His countenance lighted up, and He said, "The hour is come, that the Son of man should be glorified." In the request of the Greeks He saw an earnest of the results of His great sacrifice.... The people of all lands and all ages would be drawn by the Saviour's cross. So shall many "come from the east and west, and shall sit down with Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, in the kingdom of heaven." Matthew 8:11.... The Greeks longed to know the truth in regard to His mission. "We would see Jesus," they said. Their desire was granted.
Have you ever had to face a situation that made you feel ALL ALONE - THAT NO ONE CARED? - AND YOU DIDN'T KNOW HOW YOU COULD FACE THE FUTURE?? We know that Jesus longed for human encouragement during His earthly journey. Then, when Jesus was just hours away from giving His life on the Cross of Calvary, when all looked like His mission could be for nought, a delegation of GREEKS came looking for Him, Saying to Philip..." Sir, we would see Jesus", " New Joy was found and "His countenance lighted up" Remember Jesus said, " I will never leave you nor forsake you."
"The hour of Christ's glorification had come. He was standing in the shadow of the cross, and the inquiry of the Greeks showed Him that the sacrifice He was about to make would bring many sons and daughters to God...By making this propitiation for the sins of men, Christ knew that His kingdom would be perfected, and would extend throughout the world. He would work as the Restorer, and His Spirit would prevail. For a moment He looked into futurity, and heard the voices proclaiming in all parts of the earth, "Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world." John 1:29
Dear Friends...Whatever you may be facing today always remember to focus on the Power of Jesus and not on the problem. Put in a 911 call to heaven via the Holy Spirit and this is what you will hear...." Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. John 14:27
