Bugs Beneficial to Gardens

I'm just wondering if anyone has ever tried using bugs to help keep bad bugs in control? I've been doing some reading and apparently the Green Lacewing, Brown Lacewing, Ladybug, and Praying Mantises are really good at ridding your garden of other bug pests.

Share with us what you are learning, Jim. Are you going to buy some critters, or just try and attract them?

I was wondering the same. My garden is teeming with its own ecosystem of bugs. Zillions of bugs. But alas I simply cannot plant any edible greens. Herbs, yes, but not lettuce, spinach, broccoli etc. They vanish completely before daybreak.
