Praying for Little Daniel
« on: March 05, 2013, 01:48:10 PM »
Not long ago, Pastor Immanuel asked for prayers for their not yet born baby. Little Daniel is now with us. He was born February 28, weighing one pound two ounces.  Your prayers are still appreciated.
Jesus receives His reward when we reflect His character, the fruits of the Spirit......We deny Jesus His reward when we do not.

Yes, we are all praying for little Daniel! And, for his parents. My heart aches for them, but I know that our wonderful Creator has little Daniel in His hands, and I know they are leaning on our Lord. Here is a link to Daniel's FB page with pictures.

Little Daniel has pneumonia. Let us all offer a prayer for him.

More prayers coming. The Lord can bring Daniel through this if it is His will.  110 years ago a church member was born weighing a pound. He was kept in a shoe box near the wood stove. He passed away in his late 90s.

All his little organs are under attack from the pneumonia, but also the risks of further noscomial infections will all the procedures.   Little Daniel could easily be killed by this pneumonia.  Pray all the more earnestly, specifically, claiming God's promises,  and that His will be done.
Grateful for Psalms 32 and Titus 2:10 - The divinity of Christ is acknowledged in the unity of the children of God.  {11MR 266.2}

Amen!! Our lives are in God's hands. He keeps the heart beating, He keeps the lungs breathing. When we are walking in the light, He will hear our prayers and answer them in the very best way. What a God we serve!

Daniel is continuing to struggle with his O2 levels. Each change made works for some time, but then he starts having the same difficulty. Praying for a Sabbath rest from his breathing problems.

Heavenly Father, we come before you with heavy hearts for our little brother, Daniel. Thank you for giving him to us and for keeping him alive thus far. You know the end from the beginning and accordingly we have placed his very breath in Your able hands from the start. Should You see fit to heal this child, please act in Your mighty and powerful way. Faith and dependence upon You is being witnessed every hour on behalf of this child to both believers and unbelievers. By Your act, would it not increase faith to all? Your servant said prayer moves the arm of Omnipotence. You heard the plea of Moses and Abraham. Father, we are here asking for Your mercy. How do I petition all of heaven so that this request is acceptable to You? No presumption is in our hearts and we know You will do nothing against the government of heaven that would cause an outcome short of glory to Your Name. That is what we want, God glorified and Your will carried out. We love You. We know You love us. Help us in this most trying hour. Comfort Daniel in his distress, dear Father. You know his every need. Give his parents grace upon grace to endure this bittersweet experience. And help us to help them whatever the outcome. Giver of all good things, read our hearts as we find ourselves void of language to properly express this urgent need. In the Name of Your most precious Son, Jesus, I ask, Amen.

From Daniel's facebook this morning.

Today was moving day for Daniel, he moved into a new isolet. His old one thought he was cold and tried to warm him up, but he was really hot and needed to be cooled down. Took 8 people to move 2lb Daniel from one bed to another because of all the wires.

He is also struggling with his intestines. He is very swollen so they have stopped his feedings and are just giving him IV nutrition. Hopefully everything will clear up.

We know The Lord is on the case!

Necrotizing Enterocolitis (NEC) is the new term of the day. Unfortunately it is as scary as sounds. It is basically part of the intestinal tissue is dying because of a bacterial infection, which can lead to a rupture in the bowel.

The doctors are very concerned that Daniel has NEC and he is getting X-ray and ultrasound every 6 hours.

The hope is that since feedings have been suspended and antibiotics are being administered that he will recover on his own. If not, then surgery will probably happen, which can lead to other complications.

This is a very serious issue, one of the leading causes of death in preemies. Prayers appreciated.

Fresh update on baby Daniel:

Daniel is doing about the same, which is a good thing at this point. The concern is that the NEC will cause a hole or rupture in the intestine which can lead to peritonitis, which is an extremely dangerous condition, especially for a preemie of Daniel's size.

He is being followed by the surgical team in case he needs to have surgery on his intestines. Surgery for him with his current condition and size would not be a good thing. The intermediary step before surgery would be to put a drain in his abdomen. So far neither surgery nor a drain are necessary.

The doctors are a little bit stumped by his condition because he has a number of the symptoms of NEC but there is no "free air" (which is a very good thing) in the abdomen which would confirm NEC. We are very thankful for the doctors and nurses but are more thankful that they are not the only ones caring for Daniel.

Thanks to everyone for you prayers!
