The General Conference must deal with the rebellion by the unions. They have pleaded and instruct, but for a few unions, it did no good. They went ahead and violated their own constitutions and the General Conference mandates to not ordain women pastors. The Seventh-day Adventist Church is not a hierarchy. Therefore, the decision was made by the GC leadership to not act on the matter until the General Conference Annual Council meets this month. What will be done will be done by the world church as a unified church. Delegates from around the world will meet and decide what to do with the rebellious unions.
The theme for this years meeting is "Transforming Grace". "Grace is capable of transforming the heart of stone into a loving heart; it brings into existence a new life in Christ. This is illustrated in the experience of the prodigal son, the demoniacs, Paul, etc. (Eph 2:4-13)."
As the call for revival and reformation continues, we are seeing evidence that God's grace is attending the call and revival is coming to our church, God's church. His Spirit is moving upon the "valley of dry bones." Praise God! What is impossible with man, is possible with God. Grace is the transforming power! Grace does not do away with justice, but it is grace that reveals the hope we have as sinners. It is the revelation of the great love that God has for us while we were yet sinners.
