An Infamous Day in World History
« on: September 11, 2012, 12:34:00 PM »
Today, September 11, 2012, reminds us that we are nearing the end of this world's history. The United States of America is in Bible prophecy. God has blessed the world through the United States. There is freedom in many places where there would not be if the United States had never existed. But, the freedoms so greatly cherished by American citizens is coming to an end. America, a truly Protestant nation where religious liberty was the foundation upon which she grew, will soon disappear according to Scripture.

9/11 is a marker of this transition in American history. Having rejected Bible truth, the United States has suffered in consequence. God is no longer protecting this once blessed nation.

It is "Peace Day", the second Tuesday in September 2001

Four large planes were hijacked and two of them crashed into the World Trade Center in New York. Both towers have collapsed. 50,000 people worked in the center. The towers were the targets of a previous terrorism attack in 1993.

A third plane targeted the Pentagon building in Washington D.C. It is on fire.

A fourth plane hijacked crashed  before reaching its target. All four planes were scheduled for landings in California. All other U.S. domestic flights have landed safely.  Many international flights scheduled for U.S. have landed many in Canada. All U.S.flights are grounded until further notice.  Some flights landing in the U.S. were accompanied by U.S. Airforce fighter escorts. Many U.S. buildings have closed.  Like the attack upon Pearl harbor that began the U.S. entry into World War II, today will live in infamy as the day the U.S. declared war on Islamic terrorists.

As Christians that understand the real battle that is taking place, we know that minds will be diverted from the real spiritual battle that is waxing hotter. The last warning message to world must not be slowed by the activities that surround us today. The disaster in New York today is a shadow of the destruction that will soon come upon this earth. We sorrow over the suffering and death, but let us contemplate the reality of the multitudes that will soon perish world-wide. Our only hope is in Jesus. Let us point those suffering today to the great love that our God has for this world.

Our prayers go out for those who are grieving their loss, for those injured, and also for those that are trapped in the rubble. May God extend probations that choices may be made that will provide everlasting life. Let God's people pray everywhere for those suffering and for those that have done such a cowardly deed.

I still think about the people that jumped from the heights of the twin towers. They went to work like any other day, then all of a sudden, having to decide whether to jump to certain death or a burning death. What horror must cross one's mind in that situation, we would never know. I hope each of them were right with the Lord.

I recall a talk show host just a couple months ago say she couldn't figure out what those loud thumping sounds were on that day. To her horror, they were people hitting the concrete from atop the towers.

The entire event was a day of unspeakable horror.
