In-N-Out Burger's Meat Supplier Shut Down
« on: August 21, 2012, 11:49:24 PM »
The USDA closed down Central Valley Meat's slaughterhouse in Hanford, California. They are a major supplier to the USDA's National School Lunch Program and other federal food programs.  They also supplied the In-N-Out Burger chain.

USDA meat inspectors viewed an undercover video made at the Hanford plant by an investigator for the animal rights group, Compassion Over Killing. The group alleged that the company used potentially diseased "downer cows" and treated them in an inhumane manner.

Lester Friedlander, DVM, a former USDA meat inspector and supervisor said "I could not believe the repeated Humane Slaughter Violations that occurred. The video revealed cows that were having trouble walking being shocked in an attempt to get them up. The investigators reported  they saw "Sick or injured cows repeatedly being shocked and workers pulling or lifting them by their tails in an attempt to force them to stand and walk.   A Bible Answer
