Elder Thurber, do you know this song? I have looked for it for years and cannot locate the music or lyrics. It was sung by Henry Reid at my grandfather's funeral, 1980. I will never forget it. These are the words I remember.
Somebody Prayed
Somewhere a brother was bowed down with care
Burdens were pressing, so heavy to bear
Then midst the trial a sweet calm broke through
Somebody prayed, was that somebody you?
Somebody prayed
Somebody prayed
A burden grew lighter
And courage was staid
A sigh turned to song
A faint heart grew strong
And gray skies seemed brighter
For somebody prayed.
