Berea Gardens

The following address will take you to (SDA) Bob Gregory's Berea Gardens web site. I believe you will find it helpful and interesting. He is currently in W Virginia where he is producing organic produce in modest plots and selling it in the community. He uses a low budget program. Bob believes that W Virginia is one of the best if not the best place to do this. While the soil needs to be worked properly it will prouduce great crops. Bob is on 100+ acres most of which is trees. With the rolling hills there is good buffer to protect from GMO contamination. Lang may be purchased for approx. $1000 per acre. The growing season is very long with mild winters. Much of the land has springs on it. There is typically good rainfall in W Virginia.  There are no regulations so one can build and operate without all the hoops to jump through. Bob may be contacted through his site. He is extremely knowledgeable about what's in our store bought fertilizers and what to use and what not to use. Growing Alfalfa on one's soil is perhaps the best way to produce long term low maintenance soil fertilization.  http://bereagardens.org/index.html
