The Hour of His Judgment is Come!!

"Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord: and he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse." Malachi 4:5, 6.

The closing words of Malachi are a prophecy regarding the work that should be done preparatory to the first and the second advent of Christ.

Those who are to prepare the way for the second coming of Christ are represented by faithful Elijah, as John came in the spirit of Elijah to prepare the way for Christ's first advent.

Our message must be as direct as was that of John. He rebuked kings for their iniquity. Notwithstanding the peril his life was in, he never allowed truth to languish on his lips.

In this time of well-nigh universal apostasy, God calls upon His messengers to proclaim His law in the spirit and power of Elias. As John the Baptist, in preparing a people for Christ's first advent, called their attention to the Ten Commandments, so we are to give, with no uncertain sound, the message: "Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come." With the earnestness that characterized Elijah the prophet and John the Baptist, we are to strive to prepare the way for Christ's second advent.

The hour of God's judgment has come, and upon the members of His church on earth rests the solemn responsibility of giving warning to those who are standing as it were on the very brink of eternal ruin.

All can do something in the work. None will be pronounced guiltless before God unless they have worked earnestly and unselfishly for the salvation of souls.

Your duty cannot be shifted upon another. No one but yourself can do your work. If you withhold your light, someone must be left in darkness through your neglect.  The Lord has a place for everyone in His great plan.

"And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ." Revelation 12:17.

In the twelfth chapter of Revelation is represented the great conflict between the obedient and the disobedient.  The sign of obedience is the observance of the Sabbath of the fourth commandment.

The Sabbath is a test to this generation. In obeying the fourth commandment in spirit and truth, men will obey all the precepts of the Decalogue. To fulfill this commandment one must love God supremely, and exercise love toward all the creatures that He has made.

The time is coming when God's people will feel the hand of persecution because they keep holy the seventh day. The man of sin, who thought to change times and laws, and who has always oppressed the people of God, will cause laws to be made enforcing the observance of the first day of the week. But God's people are to stand firm for Him.

Let no one yield to temptation and become less fervent in his attachment to God's law because of the contempt placed upon it; for that is the very thing that should make us pray with all our heart, and soul, and voice, "It is time for thee, Lord, to work: for they have made void thy law." Psalm 119:126. Therefore, because of the universal contempt, I will not turn traitor when God will be most glorified and most honored by my loyalty.

Shall Seventh-day Adventists relax their devotedness when all their capabilities and powers should be placed on the Lord's side; when an unflinching testimony, noble and uplifting, should come from their lips? "Therefore I love thy commandments above gold; yea, above fine gold." Psalm 119:127. When the law of God is most derided and brought into the most contempt, then it is time for every true follower of Christ to stand unflinchingly for the faith once delivered to the saints.

Harold Camping and Family Radio have deceived multitudes of precious souls that judgment day is May 21, just eleven days away. From some, it will be judgment day, they will have seared the heart until God cannot reach them. Some will die just as many are dying without salvation today and tomorrow. For them we could say the God has allowed Satan to render a judgment against the sinner. But, Harold Camping is teaching that the righteous shall be "raptured" on May 21, 2011, and those left upon the earth will face "judgment day."   Such a deception.

As Seventh-day Adventists, we have a knowledge of the soon coming of Jesus. The Bible is clear that we may know the nearness of this great day. The disciples of Christ had asked the question, “What shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?” Jesus gave them signs, and said, “When ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors.” See Matthew 24:3, 33, 42-51. One saying of the Saviour must not be made to destroy another. Though no man knoweth the day nor the hour of his coming, we are instructed and required to know when it is near. We are further taught that to disregard his warning, and refuse or neglect to know when his advent is near, will be as fatal for us, as it was for those who lived in the days of Noah not to know when the flood was coming. And the parable in the same chapter contrasting the faithful and the unfaithful servant, and giving the doom of him who said in his heart, “My Lord delayeth his coming,” shows in what light Christ will regard and reward those whom he finds watching, and teaching his coming, and those denying it. “Watch therefore,” he says; “blessed is that servant, whom his Lord when he cometh shall find so doing.”  “If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come on these as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee.” Revelation 3:3.

Paul speaks of a class to whom the Lord's appearing will come unawares. “The day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, . . . and they shall not escape.” But he adds, to those who have given heed to the Saviour's warning, “Ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief. Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day; we are not of the night, nor of darkness.” 1 Thessalonians 5:2-5.  The second coming of Christ is not May 21, but it is going to be soon!!

The fifth chapter of Revelation needs to be closely studied. It is of great importance to those who shall act a part in the work of God for these last days. There are some who are deceived. They do not realize what is coming on the earth. Those who have permitted their minds to become beclouded in regard to what constitutes sin are fearfully deceived. Unless they make a decided change they will be found wanting when God pronounces judgment upon the children of men. They have transgressed the law and broken the everlasting covenant, and they will receive according to their works.

"And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood; and the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind. And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places. And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains; and said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of Him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb: for the great day of His wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?" Revelation 6:12-17.

Many in Christian churches today teach and believe that Jesus will remove His believers from this world prior to the tribulation spoken of in the last days. It is true that many will be laid to rest, but those living saints that are on this earth when Jesus comes will go through the tribulation period. They will live through the time of trouble such as never was.

The judgment spoken of in Revelation 14, "the hour of His judgment is come" is when the "books are opened". Daniel 7:10.   There is a book of life and a book of death. The book of life contains the good deeds of the saints; and the book of death contains the evil deeds of the wicked. These books are compared with the statute book, the Bible, and according to that men are judged. This judgment must take place before Christ comes, for He will have His reward with Him when He comes. For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.  2 Cor. 5:10.

This "hour of His judgment" has already begun. We are living in the anti-typical Day of Atonement. When the judgment is finished, then after a short period, Jesus will come and take us home!

There will be a day of judgment.  When we see the end coming as we may, it is time to consider what this verse means, Fear God and give glory to Him, for the hour of His judgment is come."  How can we know that we have arrived at this time?  Read Matthew 24, it will help since it delineates the events to place shortly before the second coming of Jesus.  We have a topic Matthew 24

God does not warn us of this time because He wants to punish us, but because He loves us and gave His Son for us.  The time is at hand and all may know it by the signs of the times as given in the Bible.

Great deception has come upon many professing Christians. They do not believe we are in a time of judgment. Judgment of human beings. Even in God's church are many who now try to undo the truth. They do not teach that all who have professed to serve God are going to be judged according to what is written in the books of heaven. They teach that man may sin and retain eternal life based on what Christ has done. That God will excuse sin because of the death of Christ. I did not say forgive sin, but excuse sin.

"For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad."  2 Cor. 5:10.  What does this mean, then?  This is what began in 1844. Every name will appear before Christ, even name will be seen in the light of what the person did in the flesh, whether it be good or bad. Why? Because out of the mouth can be seen what was in the heart. But, it does not stop with our words. No, our thoughts are written down in the books. And, our motives. So, all will be able to know if one was truly a Christian or just playing the game. That is why there is a judgment before Christ comes. All may know the heart of the professing believer. Did they really love God with all the heart?  Did they really love their neighbor as themselves?  God knows, but in the judgment the whole universe will know.

False teachers are out to undo this truth so that one may be saved in sin. It will make no difference in the judgement. One known sin unconfessed will be seen. But, we all know that there will not be just one sin. Sin reveals a separation from God and God will not allow one to be struck down without opportunity to repent. So, after one sin, there will come another and another unless one repents and turns back to God. This is what the investigative judgment will reveal. The condition of the heart of all who have professed to love God and have gone down into the grave. Were they truly converted or did they die apart from God?

If we are going to preach the three angels message, then we had better know what it is that we are preaching.
Jesus receives His reward when we reflect His character, the fruits of the Spirit......We deny Jesus His reward when we do not.

The fear of the Lord will lead us to be commandment keepers.
Exodus 20:20
(20)  And Moses said unto the people, Fear not: for God is come to prove you, and that his fear may be before your faces, that ye sin not.

Revelation 3:20
(20)  Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.
