It is being reported that the third reactor, unit #2, which was experiencing over heating has just suffered an explosion. The other two reactors that suffered hydrogen explosions did not suffer a breech in the reactor containment vessels. It is not known at this time what the results will be at reactor #2.

It is now being reported that the explosion did breech the containment vessel. Radiation levels are much higher than at the site and work crews have been evacuated from the plant.

There is concern about the wind direction. It is being reported that a NNE wind was blowing this morning at Japan. This would blow the radiation over Tokyo.

Now they are saying that there is still a small group of workers that remain at the site attempting to inject water into the reactor.

Sirens have gone off in Tokyo. It is being reported by the Fox reporter that the sirens are for an earthquake. But, it would seem more in line with a warning of radiation coming from the explosion at reactor #2 at the Fukushima Nuclear Plant.

This is a much more desperate situation than anything up to this point. We have heard no plans for what would be the next step if the containment vessel was breeched. The extent of the breech is not being reported. It may be that the only way to measure the breech will be the amount of radiation being released into the atmosphere.

There now comes the question as to what will happen with rescue workers who will be in danger from the fallout.

Reports are coming in that radiation levels are higher at a city south of the Fukushima Nuclear Plant.  They are not reporting how high are the levels of radiation.

Tokyo is about 150 miles north of the Fukushima Nuclear Plant. The wind is apparently variable and is now blowing the radiation to the west out to sea. This is a crisis that is of unparalleled proportion. The poor people who have lost their homes, are fearful of another quake and tsunami, are cold, hungry, searching for missing friends and family, and now the nuclear power plant is giving off increased amounts of radiation. The containment vessel has been breeched and there is the anticipation that the radiation level will increase even more than it has.

The quake by itself, one of the largest in history, would be bad. But, then the tsunami, one of the worst in history. And now, what could be the very worst of all, a meltdown of a nuclear power reactor.

More bad news.

A nuclear expert being interviewed by Fox said that a worker has died from radiation exposure while working at the site. He may have slipped. This has not been reported.

And probably one of the worst bits of news is that he said unit #2 is using different fuel than the other two units. Unit #2 is using plutonium.

There are also used fuel rods being stored at the site.

If the situation at Unit#2 continues to worsen, it will eventually create a problem for all reactors at the site. Workers will have to contend with the radiation being emitted at reactor #2. There are at least six reactors at the site.

May God have mercy, although we know He has been showing mercy unto thousands of them that love Him. What a horrific situation!

It is now being reported that radiation levels are going up south of the plant. Wind direction has shifted and is blowing the radiation on-land towards Tokyo.   It is expected to shift later today.

There are reporting that radiation levels are down at the plant.

CNN and the BBC are both reporting engineers have managed to lay a power cable to reactor 2, the UN's nuclear watchdog reports. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-pacific-12779512
