Brazil flood death toll rises over 500
« on: January 14, 2011, 09:02:14 AM »
TERESOPOLIS, Brazil (Reuters) – The death toll from massive flooding and landslides in Brazil topped 500 on Friday as renewed rainfall threatened to complicate efforts by rescue teams to reach survivors trapped in isolated areas.

In one of the country's worst natural disasters, rivers of mud tore through towns in the mountainous Serrana region outside Rio de Janeiro, leveling houses, throwing cars atop buildings and leaving thousands of people seeking shelter.

Break in rain allows Brazil to reach slide victims

TERESOPOLIS, Brazil – A break in near-constant rain Sunday allowed Brazilian rescue helicopters to deliver desperately needed food and water to some of the neighborhoods buried under tons of earth in mudslides that killed more than 600 people.

Officials in Brazil say more than 800 people are now known to have died in floods and landslides in the south-east of the country this month.

More than 400 people are still missing after torrential rain caused whole hillsides to collapse.

The Brazilian government has said it will set up an early warning system to alert communities of impending danger.

The flooding is considered the worst natural disaster Brazil has ever experienced.

Australia has just experienced the same. It's worst natural disaster.  Haiti experienced the same, its worst natural disaster. And how about Indonesia and Thailand. The worst natural disasters not long ago with the tsunami. And, how about 9/11 in NY. The worst disaster to hit the US mainland, not natural, but still, a disaster the magnitude not ever seen before in the US.

Here's a prediction for those reading. We shall see much worse in the days that follow. San Francisco is going to experience a disaster in that their cup is full. My thoughts are of a very large earthquake. These are judgments that are coming upon the world just prior to the coming of Jesus. Satan is at work and God allows. He is withdrawing His Spirit from those who have rejected His love. His hand of protection is being removed from those cities that hate Him.

May 21 will not be the end, but it is coming soon enough.  Harold Camping is a false prophet, but he has one thing right, the end is coming soon! And before the end comes, there will be natural disasters in the large cities of the world. San Francisco is on the top of the list.
Jesus receives His reward when we reflect His character, the fruits of the Spirit......We deny Jesus His reward when we do not.
